I'm sure you've all heard of this by now; actually found it a bit odd that I didn't spot an existing topic on it already.

Does this strike anyone else as completely ridiculous? I mean, really, underwater sub bases? Could we possibly get a little bit more James Bond-ish?

Seems like yet another thing to ramp up the ever-increasing levels of xenophobia in the US...

The grinworthy bit of the article I thought was:
"China has secretly built a major underground nuclear submarine base that could threaten Asian countries and challenge American power in the region, it can be disclosed."

I mean - is it possible to be any further away from the US?
It's nearly 6000 miles to Honolulu, let alone CONUS.
