The UK government is investigating how a digital camera containing terrorist images apparently taken by MI6 was sold on eBay.

The Nikon CoolPix camera was bought for £17 by a 28-year-old man from Hemel Hempstead in Hertfordshire and contained the names of al Qaeda members, fingerprints and suspects' academic records as well as pictures of rocket launchers and missiles, according to The Sun.

A Foreign Office spokeswoman said: "We can confirm a police investigation is under way."

However she refused to comment on whether the camera was put on sale by an MI6 operative, despite it containing details of MI6’s computer network. MI6 is the foreign intelligence service for the UK government with a broadly similar remit as the American CIA.

Terrorism author Neil Doyle said: “These are MI6 documents relating to an operation against al-Qaeda insurgents in Iraq. It’s jaw-dropping they got into the public domain.

“Not only do they divulge secrets about operations, operating systems and previously unheard-of MI6 departments, but they could put lives at risk.”

This is a problem, reaction, solution scam by the elite. Pretty soon the the government will make new laws that stop all access to information. This means we will not be able to get info on them through the freedom of information act, which has gone a long way to help expose things like Common Purpose & de-classified documents that expose corrupt polititions.

This is why all this so called top secret info is being found everywhere.

Of course if any of us had bought it we would have handed it in at our nearest Police station and not made a copy.
Probably the worst thing you could have done is handed it in as "they" will always be watching you just in case you did make a copy.
I am sure you could get more than £17 on ebay for the cameras contents.


Excuse my ignorance but how do you get
names of al Qaeda members, fingerprints and suspects' academic records on a digital camera except by photographing the actual documents. How do you have fingerprints unless you have the person or following a person and taking prints wherever they go,A £17 second hand Nikon coolpix would only be a bog standard bottom range digital. hardly the equipment of a spy. Could be an attempt to quietly leak info or just another stunt to keep the "alciada" name in the public domain

Mind you it could be any tom dick or harry just photographing all these Top secret documents that are left lying around on trains or left in laybys

Anyone find out who the seller was? or have ebay removed all details
