Passports now required for Pay As You Go Phones-Sunday Times

In a stunningly useless yet fear inducing addition to the latest rack of ever increasing liberty reducing measures suggested by our Government, it is now annouced that all 72 million phones in our country should be linked individually to our passports, to stop the teeming rows of terrorists from leaping out with their unregistered mobiles and flagrently speaking to people without being recorded doing so...

There are as yet no plans as to how to prevent 'terrorists' from purchasing Pay As You Go mobiles from the many countries in which it will be still possible to do so if this comes into effect, but we can be safe in the knowledge that good ol' Blighty has been the first in line for the mobile data mining...ah...the land of plenty....
