Over one million Egyptian protesters in Cairo's Liberation square have demanded their military rulers to abandon Israel and lift the blockade on the besieged Gaza strip.
Protesters voiced their anger at Tel Aviv by burning the Israeli flag and demanding the Liberation of Palestine, a Press TV correspondent said.
They promised to stand by Gazans, who have been suffering Israeli attacks and its four-year long crippling siege.
Many protesters headed toward the US Embassy from Liberation Square to protest Israel's deadly attacks on Gaza.
The Israeli flag was torn to pieces, when protesters tried to raise Palestinian flag above the Israeli embassy.
The development comes two months after a historic revolution ousted President Hosni Mubarak.
Protesters also demanded the prosecution of officials belonging to the former regime --mainly the ousted president Mubarak and his family.
Egypt's toppled regime under Mubarak served the interests of Israel by assisting and keeping silent on the killing of Gazans.
Egypt has imposed a blockade on Gaza since the democratically elected Hamas government took control of the territory in 2007. Since then Israel has imposed a crippling blockade on the territory triggering a humanitarian crisis.
A major Egyptian political party, the Muslim Brotherhood (MB), has recently demanded that the country's Supreme Council of the Armed Forces takes action in breaking the siege of Gaza.
Egypt's political parties say the Gaza blockade serves the interests of Israel and the US and threatens regional stability and independence.
This is while Israeli officials have been repeatedly threatening to launch a fresh major offensive against Gaza.
They say such an onslaught could be even more destructive and deadly than the one at the turn of 2009, which killed over 1,400 Palestinians -- many of them women and children.

GAZA - Gazan security personnel found the body of an Italian peace campaigner who was killed and left in an abandoned house in the Gaza Strip following his abduction by terrorists, a Hamas official said on Friday.
Two men were arrested and others were being sought in the killing of Vittorio Arrigoni, the security official added.
Hundreds of Palestinian have died inside Israeli prisons and now an Israeli television channel has aired shocking footage of Israel's so-called Control and Restraint unit, or Masada, attacking Palestinian prisoners.
Activists have demanded people in charge of the operation, carried out in 2007, be charged and the family of one of the victims told Al Jazeera that they would consider suing Masada.

Update on above 'Virus Alert'; I closed down computer, then restarted offline and ran a complete scan, and it came up with nothing.
So hopefully I got away with it.

Thanks for heads up, I expect it was successful, keep it off the network and keep trying scans from updated software, try other scans too, Trend Micro do a free live scan online and some other free products are good, I use AVG mostly.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu
Israel has voiced anger at the reconciliation accord signed between main Palestinian factions of Hamas and Fatah, aimed at forming a Palestinian unity government.
Following the inking of the deal in the Egyptian capital on Wednesday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said, "What happened today in Cairo is a tremendous blow to peace," AFP reported.
Earlier in the day, Khaled Meshaal, Hamas' Political Chief and Mahmoud Abbas, the acting Chief of the Palestinian Authority (PA), which is dominated by Fatah, endorsed an understanding deal the representatives of the two sides had reached late last month in Cairo.
The two factions have been at odds since the Palestinian resistance movement of Hamas emerged victorious in the Palestinian parliamentary elections in January 2006.
Following the polls, Fatah set up headquarters in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, thus limiting the governance by Hamas to the Gaza Strip -- a comparably smaller portion of Palestinian territories.
The deal calls for the formation of a joint interim government and holding of presidential and legislative elections within a year.
It, however, does not rule on issues such as whether to recognize and negotiate with the Israeli regime.
At the turn of 2009, Israel brought negotiations with the PA to a halt by launching a war on the Gaza Strip, which left more than 1,400 Palestinians dead.

Foreign Ministry earthquake: A veteran diplomat says he has resigned from his post because he had a hard time defending the policies of Israel's current government, Yedioth Ahronoth reported Wednesday.
Ilan Baruch says he quit because "Israel's foreign policy is wrong," pointing to the Palestinian issue.
Should this trend continue, he warned, Israel will turn into a pariah state and face growing de-legitimization.
"A basic rule of diplomacy is to listen to both friends and opponents," adding that "over the past two years we have been finding every opportunity ... to turn someone into an opponent. We think the whole world is against us and we don't have to do an internal accounting. It's time we checked ourselves." - Illan Baruch HaaretzBaruch told Israel TV Wednesday that Israel's standing was in danger because of its policies, which he said were "difficult to explain."
"I can no longer honestly represent this government," he said earlier. "As (Foreign Minister) Lieberman was elected by a large public in a legitimate manner, I cannot question him – but I don't have to serve him, and therefore I'm quitting."
"I have nothing against Lieberman the person," Baruch added. However, he said he had a problem with the diplomatic messages conveyed by the Jewish state at this time and its dismissal of former understandings pertaining to the Road Map and the Palestinians.
'Don't blame anti-Semitism'
Baruch sent a personal letter to all Foreign Ministry employees Tuesday to explain the motives for his decision.
"Identifying the objection expressed by global public opinion to the occupation policy as anti-Semitic is simplistic, provincial and artificial," he wrote. "Experience shows that this global trend won't change until we normalize our relations with the Palestinians."
A more than 30-year veteran, Baruch resigned a few years before the usual retirement age. His last overseas posting was ambassador to South Africa last year. He quit several months ago. The longtime diplomat lost an eye during the War of Attrition and joined the Foreign Service in 1974.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Yigal Palmor said it was unusual for a diplomat to criticize the government upon retirement. Officials at Lieberman's office declined to respond to Baruch's comments.

Activists say they want actions not words, and are demanding an embargo on exports from illegal settlements. But, as Daniel Bushell reports, politicians are remaining tight-lipped on the issue.

Police violently arresting a Jewish teenager in Jerusalem for speaking the truth and charged him for "attacking and biting a police officer" !!! For one American Jewish teenager, this year's Jerusalem Day earlier this month turned out to be an event not to remember, as he was detained for two days on suspicion of attacking and biting a police officer.
"Lucas," a 19 year-old from Philadelphia, cut a rather different figure in the Jerusalem Day flag parade in the capital. Like many participants in the event, he wore a skullcap on his head; unlike the others, however, a Palestinian flag and a keffiyeh were also part of his outfit.
The youth, who arrived in Israel as part of a trip arranged by a Jewish-Christian group, claims he was attacked by a policeman during the celebrations.
The parade turned ugly this year when a small group of participants walked through East Jerusalem, and the Old City's Muslim Quarter, chanting "death to Arabs." Lucas, with a few comrades, stood opposite these demonstrators, and shouted out slogans in support of ending Israel's occupation of the territories. He says that dozens of Palestinians gathered behind him, and formed a spontaneous protest.
In a videotape, Lucas can be seen refusing to give policemen his passport, after he was apparently identified as the leader of the protest. After a few minutes, in the clip, a police officer is seen dragging Lucas forcibly into a police car, "Israel is occupying the Palestinian people in my name, in the name of world Jewry," Lucas, clutching his American passport, tells the camera. "And I myself, an American Jew, is here to say that is completely unjustified and ethically reprehensible.
"And we, world Jewry and all people of the world, will not stop until this occupation ends and until the Palestinian people have their right - the right of return, the right to live without occupation, and equal rights within Israel. That is why we are here."
Israel Police claims the young man attacked and bit an officer - however, the video does not show Lucas provoking any officers. It shows a group of policemen forcing him to the ground and handcuffing him; as a result, he required medical treatment afterward.
For his part, Lucas adamantly denies that he attacked a police officer.
"I didn't bite anyone," he says. "The police officer showed me his cuts [later], but they were caused by a sharp instrument, and there weren't any bite marks."
Lucas was held in detention for two days. The Jerusalem Magistrate's Court denied a police request to extend his remand; at the advice of his lawyer and family, the youth left the country after being released.

Turkey's Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan says Israel is “the West's spoiled child” that has always disregarded decisions made by the international community.
The Turkish premier, who is on his “Arab Spring” tour, said in a speech addressing the members of the Arab League in the Egyptian capital of Cairo on Tuesday that Israel “has never executed a decision by the international community to this day,” the New York Times reported.
Erdogan called on the Arab League ministers to vote for Palestinian statehood at the United Nations this month, saying the recognition of “the Palestinian state is the only correct way.”
He added that recognizing Palestine as a sovereign state at the UN is “not a choice but an obligation.”
“Let us raise the Palestinian flag and let that flag be the symbol of peace and justice in the Middle East,” he said.
Palestinian officials have been campaigning to achieve UN recognition for an independent state based on the pre-1967 borders at the UN General Assembly meeting in September.
More than 100 countries have so far officially recognized Palestine as a state based on the pre-1967 borders.
The United States cannot block the UN General Assembly vote for the change of Palestine's status in the world body from entity to state, but it can veto it later at the Security Council.
Erdogan also repeated his call on Israel to apologize and pay financial compensation to the relatives of the victims of a deadly Israeli attack on a Gaza-bound flotilla in 2010, which killed nine Turkish activists and injured dozens more people.
Erdogan's “Arab Spring” tour began on Monday and includes plans to visit Libya and Tunisia in addition to Egypt.

History was made this week at the UN as President Mahmoud Abbas delivered the Palestinian bid for statehood and received a standing ovation as he addressed the General Assembly. Cheering crowds gathered in Ramallah to give him a hero's welcome as he arrived from New York. Addressing the rally he declared the beginning of the Palestinian spring. When he spoke to the UN assembly on Friday jubilant scenes played out across the Palestinian territories. But words quickly turned to violence on the West Bank border, culminating in clashes between police and Palestinians. RT's Paula Slier has the story.
