By coincidence (but of course, as a Christian I do not believe in 'coincidences') I have just started reading that book ('Killing Hope') today.
An interesting quote I have already got (already) is (and I'm going to have to paraphrase slightly, (due, I have been assured, by senile dementia), by Harry Truman, re German and Russian hostilitys, 'If the Germans are winning, we should support the Russians. If the Russians are winning, we should support the Germans. That way they can kill as many as possible. But under no circumstances do we want Hitler to win'.
I'm looking forward to getting William Blum's book under my belt.
