Thats a lot of guns in his vicinity. Anything happens its gotta be an inside job.

Meanwhile, the White House's soon-to-be former resident, President George W Bush, in his final moments in office, commuted the prison sentences of two former border patrol guards convicted for shooting a Mexican drug dealer.
..

I suppose George has a warped sense of justice these days

Well of course. But it won't. Come on, think about it.

(At least not until he's called for world government about a dozen times)

I was going in and out of the kitchen when he was doing his thing on five live but I didn't hear him say 'New World Order' once!
I did hear him talk twice though about ushering in a 'New Age'.

Usual BS about the mythical 'network of evildoers threatening our very way of life' though. I can't remember exactly what he said.

I reviewed the recording of the oath bit and he did manage(after a little prompting) to get the oath out in full.

Reminds me of the circus coming to town...

The whole approach by the controlled mass media was about the good ole USA leading the world again, ie a massive rebranding exercise by a controlled candidate.

In one thing they are as always american. They always give the worst jobs to black men and facing economic collapse and a loss of wars on two fronts, what is coming is going to be immesureably worse than what went before as has happened over the last 30 years.

The size of the crowds and the fact that people are there for a variety of different reasons and not necessarily for what Obama stands for ie a Brezinski world order, means Obamas difficulty will be when he has to stands firm against his own electoral base...

No doubt this was planned to show how Obama is as 'human' as the rest of us!

Zbigniew Brzezinski was on Radio 4 this morning, extolling the virtuous Obama as a person with considerable intelligence, with instincts that are relevant to the specifics of our time and a great orator, with unusual rhetorical talents, able to deliver the message to the people . . . to educate the American public so that America can respond the way it should, in so far as the dictates of history, indicate . . .

Translating Obama's talents into a strategy and tactics will require him to use the White House and the NSC and his NSC advisor, General Jones into an integrated strategy of foreign policy for the United States.

You can listen here by scrolling down to

http://news.bbc.co.uk/today/hi/today/newsid_7841000/7841499.stm

0844

Inauguration Day in the US is over and now the spotlight will be on if President Obama's pre-election pledges will be carried out. Zbigniew Brzezinski, who served as Jimmy Carter's national security adviser, has been involved in the preparation of foreign policy. He discusses why he believes President Obama will measure up to the challenges ahead.

Direct link:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/today/hi/today/newsid_7841000/7841812.stm

Zbigniew Brzezinski discusses the complexities surrounding President Obama's foreign policy.

Zbig refers to Gaza as a "massacre"....and the USA's duck 'n' dive at the UN, as a lowering of American influence . . .

Had to post this.

Would like to know if anyone has seen this comparison made with the same Obama photo in other media documentation.

Depending on this photo's source of origin, we could work out if it really is as staged as it looks. Not just yer average photo op.

The little finger is uncanny.

I loved the shot during his eloquent speech when they panned to George Bush who looked totally bored stiff and perhaps a little jealous that Obama could actually put more than a couple of sentences together without making a right idiot of himself.

Obama also seemed to miss the point that the US is the chief nation causing terror. Or maybe he did with his promise to get out of Iraq.

The thought did cross my mind that if so much carnage and destruction could be caused by a brainless Bush in a relatively short space of time then there is a glimmer of hope that Obama who seems to have a much higher level of intelligence might just improve the world situation a little.

I also noted the lack of "New World Order" but the "New Age" comment. There was also a "common purpose" somewhere in his speech.

But wait, Obama did fluff his lines.

His most important lines - his oath.

So much so that he had to re-take his oath yesterday, along with his Chief Justice - John Roberts in the White House, who also fluffed his lines.

He was reported to have used Lincoln's bible on Tuesday but there was no bible available for the re-take so he didn't swear upon one.

Radio 4 this morning reported that the re-take was to avoid any claims made by conspiracy theorists that he wasn't properly sworn in.

Are to to understand that our collective cynicism influenced this decision?

Staggering.

Obama has:

1 suspended military tribunals at Guantanamo,
2 issued an order that the prisons at Guantanamo be closed within a year,
3 appointed as Middle East representative, George Mitchell, the man whose mediation contributed to relative peace in Northern Ireland,
4 issued an order to shut down the "ghost network" of CIA's clandestine interrogation centres, http://www.buzzle.com/articles/247135.html
5 stopped torture interrogation techniques such as waterboarding,
6 asserted that resolution of the Israel-Palestine conflict is top of his foreign policy agenda.
7 in an executive order renewed US commitment to the Geneva conventions on the treatment of detainees, requiring every detainee to be registerd with the Red Cross/Crescent

President Obama has also said "Transparency and the rule of law will guide this administration".

Many may be cynical and say he doesn't mean what he says, but the fact that he has said it offers the 9/11 truth movement, particularly in the US, the opportunity to press for a new 9/11 Inquiry. I submit that this is now the time to turn to Elias Davidsson's paper: "The Events of 11 September 2001 and the Right to the Truth" in which he makes a persuasive case that the failure to to investigate who the perpetrators of 9/11 were is a breach of both US and International law.

Failure to push at this door now that it is ajar would be remiss. It would signal that the 9/11 truth movement is so cynical that it is not even prepared to test the sincerity of this new president in the interests of our particular cause.

Well said sir!
We need to find the positive in this change, however doubtful we may be about Obama, and get behind a particular document or book which demands a rerun of the 9/11 Commission.
What about David Ray Griffin's latest offering. It's his best yet.

More signs of no change, but UN may prosecute Bush!
but back to Obama:-
http://www.wsws.org/articles/2009/jan2009/fore-j24.shtml
Quote:
In a series of meetings and public appearances Wednesday and Thursday, and with the first military strikes of his administration, President Barack Obama has given a clear signal that he plans intensified bloodshed in Afghanistan and Pakistan as the US escalates its military intervention in Central and South Asia.

Missiles fired from unmanned Predator drones struck two targets inside Pakistan Friday morning, killing at least 18 people. As is always the case with such exercises in remote-controlled murder, US officials claimed they were targeting Al Qaeda, although even US media accounts admitted that the majority of those killed were local residents.

Thank you Chek and Tony. You're welcome to nick my words: I claim no copyright on them.

The fact that I point out the positive things in Obama does not I hope mean I'm blind to the negative things. Chomsky's warnings are heeded (though I don't trust Chomsky; his blind spot on 9/11 is astonishing, unless he's not a free agent).

Obama's attitude to Pakistan and Afghanistan is worrying, though Richard Holbrook did successful shuttle diplomacy to end the Bosnian civil war. But it's silly to see people as all bad or all good as Bush appears to. We're all capable of good and of bad deeds and most of us do some of each during our lives.

His appointment of Zbigniew Brzezinski is worrying. Look at this:
http://www.wanttoknow.info/brzezinskigrandchessboard

I can't help remembering that Thatcher as first female prime minister had to prove herself by being more macho than her male colleagues. By that token Obama will feel the pressure to be more white than his white colleagues if he is to keep the centre ground of the Democrat Party on board. Hence he can be expected to trim his sails to what various conservative pressure groups expect of him.

But hey! Who thought everything in the garden would be rosy after Obama's election? We face an unprecedented global crisis: in economics, the environment, war and peace and we will not solve it until the public cease to worship competition and demand equitable sharing of the world's resources.

Obama's best chance to push radical change through is in the early days of his presidency, before he has to start worrying about the next election. The important thing for activists is to keep up the pressure for positive things, including peace intitiatives and a 9/11 Reinvestigation.

Barack Obama = WAR in Pakistan, Military Draft

Thursday, 22 January 2009 18:43
Don’t Talk About Obama, Talk About Pakistani Interest

Pakistanis, especially the westernized liberal elite, need to avoid the urge to get complacent with the Obama presidency. The fact is, Obama will continue to 'soften' Pakistan through missiles and drones just like another Democrat predecessor, Clinton, did with Iraq in the 1990s. Pakistani politicians and military need to ditch the Americans before it's too late. If Washington does not respect its Pakistani ally now, it never will. Minimize the damage.

I am stunned that while the United States is willing to pay a heavier price to find alternative transport routes to Afghanistan through Russia or Iran, they are not ready to address Pakistani grievances and secure the existing Pakistani route. There couldn’t be a better example to show American ill-will toward Pakistan. All that Pakistanis are asking Washington is to show some respect. But America doesn’t want Pakistan to defend its water resources that India is blocking, doesn’t want Pakistan to protest the coming Indian military presence in Afghanistan. And God forbid if Pakistan asks America to ensure that the government in Kabul is Pakistan-friendly.

My advice to my people: Let’s be hopeful about President Obama. But let’s not be complacent like some of those officials in power, Pakistan’s American poodles, want you to be. Ahmed Quraishi.

Just heard about Obama offering the handshake of friendship to Iran if Iran will unclench its fist. Interesting to see the Iranian presidents response to this.

Scenario. sorry for being a bit cynical
If George Bush had ordered an attack on Iran because of their nuclear threat i think with his previous pedigree many would not believe him

Given a bit of time and we see how Obama is such a nice good guy if he then starts to carry on about Iranian nuclear threat and orders an attack on Iran I think a lot more people will be ready to believe it.
