IDF rabbinate publication during Gaza war: We will show no mercy on the cruel

by Amos Harel, Haaretz, 26 January 2009

Quote:
When you show mercy to a cruel enemy, you are being cruel to pure and honest soldiers. This is terribly immoral.

excerpts from Eliyahu advocates carpet bombing Gaza

by Matthew Wagner, Jerusalem Post, 30 May 2007

Quote:
[Former Sephardi chief rabbi Mordechai] Eliyahu ruled that there was absolutely no moral prohibition against the indiscriminate killing of civilians during a potential massive military offensive on Gaza […]

According to Jewish war ethics, wrote Eliyahu, an entire city holds collective responsibility for the immoral behavior of individuals. In Gaza, the entire populace is responsible because they do nothing to stop the firing of Kassam rockets.

[…] Eliyahu's son, Shmuel Eliyahu, who is chief rabbi of Safed, said […]

"If they don't stop after we kill 100, then we must kill a thousand … And if they do not stop after 1,000 then we must kill 10,000. If they still don't stop we must kill 100,000, even a million. Whatever it takes to make them stop."

What will be the consequence of such a perversion of the Bible?
God only knows.

Could well link up with this whole business of the Third Temple in Jerusalem which some Israelis think is the key to their success despite it meaning the destruction of the Al Aqsa mosque on the Temple site, a religious war provocation.
Many religious Jews vehemently oppose the Zionist 'vision' for that site.
Remember that spot where Jesus got really angry and threw over the moneylenders' tables?

If the site is eventually taken over will something wonderful happen?
Or will the abomination of desolation appear?

I don't know if anything can be quite as weird, as creepy as their website.
Is it just me?
