'Bribe probe' rail executive and wife killed themselves in suicide pact

A senior Network Rail executive facing allegations of bribe-taking and his wife gassed themselves in an apparent suicide pact, an inquest heard today.
Anthony Burgess, 45, was on police bail when he was found dead with wife Marian, 51, at their home on January 25 this year.
The couple were discovered by Mr Burgess' brother in the lounge of their £350,000 detached home in Clavering, Essex.
He found them both sitting in armchairs with plastic bags tied around their necks.................
