MOSQUE WORSHIPPERS SUPPORT 7/7 CONSPIRACY
01-07-2009
Worshippers at Birmingham Central Mosque were seen on television last night rejecting the official version of the 7/7 bombings –preferring instead the conspiracy theories advanced in a film called The Ripple Effect.
The chair of the Mosque Dr Mohammed Naseem is known to be sceptical about government explanations of Islamic extremism, and the latest episode of BBC2’s Conspiracy Files showed him discussing alternative theories the killer tube and bus blasts with members of his congregation.
A show of hands rejecting the government’s account of the slaughter of July 7, 2005, in which 52 people died, was unanimous.
Dr Naseem said: “I was doubtful from the very beginning…as the story emerged I thought it was too fast, too quick, unless somebody had already prepared it.
The programme revealed that he distributed 2,000 copies of the Ripple Effect DVD, which alleges that the four bombers were duped by secret services and framed for the murders.
“We are not talking about a conspiracy theory, we are talking about an alternative view” Dr Naseem explained.
It certainly found an echo with viewers at the mosque, with one worshipper saying, “this is more compelling than the government version. The Government has been lying from A to Z”.
Blast survivor and anti-conspiracist Rachel North told Stirrer editor Adrian Goldberg on Talksport last night that she had taken part in the film in the hope that British Muslims would stop denying the fanaticism in their midst – and she also wanted the government to acknowledge that their involvement in Iraq had fostered extremism.
