The Ground Zero memorial in New York for nearly three thousand victims of the 9/11 attacks is finally rising from the ruins of the World Trade Center.
The project is due to be completed by the 10th anniversary but arranging the names of those who died that day remains a challenge for the memorial's architect, Michael Arad. |
Within the video report, the architect of the 9/11 memorial describes the random arrangement of names on the 9/11 memorial and seems to suggest that not all names will be on the memorial - at the request of relatives some names may be omitted (!?)
Joe Daniels, 9/11 Memorial President, admits that there are no remains whatsoever of 1100 persons of the 3000 that lost their lives that day. (More than a third!)
=======================================
It looks like there will be some more work to cross check all the names... |

Quote: | Museum president Joe Daniels told reporters the exhibit would present the facts, focusing on "what happened on that day, why it happened, what does it mean to live in a 9/11 world."
"Let the perpetrators speak for themselves," Mr. Daniels said.
The museum has possession of videotapes the hijackers made in preparation for the suicide attacks and Reuters previously reported that visitors could play back the tapes, citing Mr. Daniels.
"That's a powerful and important thing that visitors to this museum need to hear -- bearing witness to the actual testimonials of those who committed the atrocities," Mr. Daniels told a news conference.
However, Mr. Daniels later told Reuters by telephone that the exhibit would be limited to photos and written text from the martyrdom tapes. |
