As positive as this move by Qatar sounds, I can't help but be cynical.
* Qatar, part of the neo-con Arab clique with Saudi and Bahrain
* Qatar, the guys who brought us a corrupted Al-Jazeera
* Qatar, the same guys who stood by and said nothing during the Mavi Mara piracy
And now they arrive with 250 million infra-structure investment. How about 250 million in a navy to block the Israeli siege. How about 250 million in lobbying the UN to uphold some of the UN resolutions on Israel. How about 250 million in removing parts of the wall separating farmers from their fields. Or perhaps all the 250 million will go to Fatah and other unelected crooks.
If there is not some USukisnato / Mossad agenda here, I'm a monkeys uncle. _________________ In the end, it's not the words of your enemies you will remember, but the silence of your friends. Martin Luther King |

Martin Van Creveld: Let me quote General Moshe Dayan: "Israel must be like a mad dog, too dangerous to bother."

Your 'hunch' was right, of course. Qatar backs IS (as does Israel, US, Turkey and UK 'on the quiet'). It also has an appalling Human Rights record; their police have just 'disappeared' Krishna Upadhyaya and Ghimire Gundev (British campaigners working for a Norwegian NGO) working in Qatar. 'Walk Free' has an online appeal to Qatar, asking they ensure their safety and freedom, at: http://www.walkfree.org/missinginqatar/ _________________ 'And he (the devil) said to him: To thee will I give all this power, and the glory of them; for to me they are delivered, and to whom I will, I give them'.
