I think it is actually quite simple. It's all down to psychology.

If 9/11 actually happened the way the powers that be tell us and the Bush administration was entirely blameless (saving perhaps incompetence), and the authorities and media over here (and in the USA) were right in ignoring all the conspiracy speak, and supporting an otherwise benevolent government ... then something else should have happened as a consequence.

These basically decent governments would be falling over themselves to try and dispell our concerns. They would be saying "look, we recognise where you people are coming from, but you really must believe us when we say we were not involved - and - we are going to prove it to you. We will have as many open inquiries into this and will publish whatever is necessary - and will allow TV documentaries and full press coverage of any aspect of it - because quite simply ... we have nothing to hide. Let us work with you and prove to you your concerns are groundless. We owe you that as a responsive and inclusive government."

They are of course doing precisely the opposite. Why? Well, we know the answer to that don't we? Wink

totally agree!!

I constantly think this. Why would they respond so agressively towards anyone even considering flaws in the official account if they have nothing to hide?!

"Let us never tollerate outrageous conspiracy theories.."- bush
says it all really.
I mean, if they have nothing to hide why would bush say that?!! bonkers
he might as well say
"Let us never tollerate anyone who thinks differently about anything we say"

9/11 was probably the biggest step towards the NWO for the last 50 odd years. We are on a slippery sloap towards a Tyranical one world government, that would last far longer than the US as the leading superpower.

Yup! Its coupling that infamous phrase:

"if you've nothing to fear youve nothing to hide"

With that classic line:

"Yeah, and the door swings both ways matey!"

Let's not get carried away here. There is an explanation for Government lying over 911 without having to conclude that they did it.

People outside the US government and the security establishment would want a full, open inquiry as to what went wrong. But if Bush didn’t do it and yet the Government’s incompetence caused it to happen, then the Government would not want to full and open inquiry.

In such a scenario, their first impulse would be to blame the security and intelligence establishment. Yet, this would be a problem if the Government was warned by the CIA et al and did nothing. In that case, there would only be a limited amount of people and agencies the Government could blame. The answer would be to make arrangements with a few individuals, such as the leadership of the CIA, and get them to take the blame. They could take this further with the new CIA chief who could do a clear out. This would reinforce in the minds of voters that it was the CIA’s fault. Porter Goss was carrying this out and resistance to what he was doing has led to him resigning.

The other tactic would be to exonerate other agencies such as the Federal Flight agencies (FAA), the US air force, FBI etc. And, of course, nothing has happened to any of them – especially the air force.

This is probably how most US people and the media, privately, see it. They don't believe Bush did it but probably believe, if he wasn't incompetent, he could have stopped it.

But there is a problem with the scenario that I have just articulated: why aren't the Democrats and the media demanding more heads and investigating this more? They should be first demanding heads to roll in the other agencies such as the air force. If they then found out it wasn't their fault, they would then turn their attention to Bush.

None of this has happened.

So, the Government wouldn’t have an open inquiry and release all the information they had. But something that should be happening in that scenario isn’t happening.

i'd agree with this way of thinking in the case of 7/7

and i'd agree with you on 9/11 if the collapse of the twin towers and WTC7 weren't so clearly a demolition. If it was a case of people not doing their jobs properly and accidently allowing terrorists to carefully plan and execute a perfect controlled demolition on these 3 buildings.. and the us gov are just trying to cover it up becuase they are embarrased it happened... i'd be very suprised.

Even if that was the case, it wouldn't explain why they shipped the steel off to china before it could be forensicated. (unless terrorists were working inside fema)
