Village libraries earmarked for closure

LIBRARIES in three North Somerset villages could be closed down in a bid to save cash.
Shock plans to shut facilities in Banwell, Congresbury and Backwell are due to go before senior councillors next week.
Tourism and leisure chief Felicity Baker is due to present a report proposing all three villages lose their libraries and that they are replaced with a mobile service.
The news comes as part of council efforts to plug an £18million funding gap within two years and a review of all authority services......
