The brutal beatings of peace protesters has always been an atrocity.

In Rochester, New York, yesterday, the police - no doubt acting to maintain the peace - attacked a peaceful demonstration against the US led war in Afghanistan.

The next day, Barack Obama was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.

The difference is these Rochester "peace" protestors were actually making quite a lot of noise, shouting and walking on the road instead of the pavement.
In order to be a real "peace" activist and win a "peace" prize you actually need to drop bombs and kill people.
