STOP THE WAR COALITION 04 March 2010 Email office@stopwar.org.uk Tel: 020 7801 2768 Web: http://stopwar.org.uk Twitter: http://twitter.com/STWuk UPDATE ON NEWSLETTER 1144:THREE PROTESTS ON FRIDAY 5 MARCH FOR STOP THE WAR
Friday 5 May is a very active day for Stop the War, with our protest at the Iraq Inquiry when Gordon Brown appears, and our picket of the military court at which Lance Corporal Joe Glenton will be sentenced, now joined by our support for an emergency protest against a march by the racist English Defence League (EDL) EDL EMERGENCY PROTEST The EDL is marching to welcome the anti-Muslim Dutch political leader, Geert Wilders, who is visting Parliament. Wilders' exteme racism led to an earlier government ban on him entering Britain.
The emergency protest, which has been called by Unite Against Fascism, and is supported by many organisations, assembles at 11am outside Parliament (DETAILS: http://bit.ly/cAsu6T ).
GORDON BROWN PROTEST AT IRAQ INQUIRY A short walk from Parliament is the QEII Conference Centre, where Stop the War will hold its protest from 8.30am to 10.30am, as Gordon Brown's gives evidence to the Chilcot Committee (DETAILS: http://bit.ly/14uRwZ ).
PICKET OF JOE GLENTON'S COURT MARTIA HEARING The picket of the court when Joe Glenton will be sentenced for refusing to fight in Afghanistan, will take place at 9.30am. (DETAILS: http://bit.ly/41D2DP ). _________________ 'Come and see the violence inherent in the system.

I'm a fine one to speak, as I won't be attending any of the three.
Still I would say that support for the true Afghanistan hero Joe Glenton is the most important, as he's a fine example of the way forward. Wars will cease when men refuse to fight and all.
Gordon Brown - who wants to see this sad deflated depressed horrible old war criminal paedophile sadsack get his comeuppance which Chilcott would never allow anyway
Geert Wilders, appearing at the invitation of that Lord appointed to UKIP presidency, after Farage's relinquishment of the job, which makes UKIP another EU clone fake opposition party, well, who could welcome the fascist methods of Unite Against Fascism, equal to the EDL, who repeatedly miss who the real fascists are at the heart of governance and world finance? _________________ http://www.exopolitics-leeds.co.uk/introduction |

If you hadn't heard Joe Glenton got 9 months prison for AWOL and demoted to private. Could have been alot worse but the family are still understandably livid.
They came out to address the small (around 30 people) Stop The War gathering and the Lawyer gave a good speach Stop The War are planning monthly vigils until his release
Mixed reactions from the squaddies mostly anti though imo _________________ 'Come and see the violence inherent in the system.

Like to highlight this small but essential group for the rights of armed forces.
It would seem they have changed the law to enable deserters to get life imprisonment
What they neglect to tell squaddies is that they can appeal under grounds of conscientious objection, this group is trying to spread word of the new law changes
and is trying to give legal support/aid to objectors
