The inquest into the deaths of the victims of 7//7 finally opened today in London. A lawyer working for the families has asked that the inquest look into just what Mi5 knew about the bombers in the months before the attack. This line of enquiry opens up the: 'Let it happen on purpose' conspiracy theory for 7/7. Did Mi5 know what the bombers were going to do before 7/7 and then ...let them do it? Who would benefit from such gross negligence? Did Tony Blair's failing war in Iraq and 'War on Terror' strategy need such an outrage to 'make the fear real' in 2005? Did the growing "Big Brother" surveillance security state need a version of 9/11 in the UK to justify: detention without trial, ID cards, new powers of arrest for the police etc etc? The question has now been asked in open court. What we need is a real public enquiry with full judicial powers to investigate just what Mi5 knew about 7/7?

story from Reuters is very clear:

http://uk.reuters.com/article/idUKTRE63P43420100426

(Reuters) - The inquests into the deaths of 56 people who died in the 2005 London bombings should be a public investigation into whether police and security services could have done more to prevent them, a court heard on Monday.

Christopher Coltart, representing seven of the victims' families, told a pre-inquest hearing that the inquests should consider whether the state had breached its obligation under the European Convention of Human Rights to protect its citizens.

The hearing, which is expected to last three days, will determine whether the inquests into the deaths of the 52 victims and 4 bombers during the July 7 attacks on London's transport network should be resumed and what scope they should have.

"In the 15-month period or so leading up to the bombings... M15 and police were, between them, in possession of a significant amount of information about the bombers," Coltart told the coroner.

"If, we submit, appropriate, available and proportionate action had been taken at an earlier stage, it may have been possible that the events of 7 July could have been avoided."

Suicide bombers Mohammad Sidique Khan, 30, Shehzad Tanweer, 22, Hasib Hussain, 18 and Jermaine Lindsay, 19, detonated their bombs on three London Underground trains and a bus in the worst peacetime attack on the capital.

Coltart said the security services were aware of a series of meetings Khan and Tanweer had in 2004 with a terrorist suspect known to be planning to bomb a shopping centre or night club, but chose not to put the pair under surveillance.

He said even if the resources were not available for constant monitoring, putting them under limited surveillance would have led police to a bomb factory, which was discovered at a rented flat in Leeds after the London attacks.

"A cursory look inside that flat would have uncovered precisely what was going on," he added.

The government has refused requests to hold an independent public inquiry into the bombings.

Gareth Patterson, representing four of the victims' families, said the inquests would provide an opportunity to ensure everything possible has been done to improve security procedures, ahead of events such as the London Olympics in 2012.

The coroner, sitting in a packed court at the Royal Courts of Justice in London, will also decide whether inquests into the deaths of the victims will be held alongside those of the four suicide bombers, the prospect of which has prompted concern from some of the bereaved families.

It will also decide whether there should be a jury and who will be entitled to be given "interested persons" status.

Lawyers had made submissions for survivors of the attacks to be designated as interested persons, which would allow them or their representatives to examine witnesses. About 900 people were injured in the bomb blasts.

The inquests were adjourned in 2007 to allow for criminal proceedings which have now been completed. If they go ahead, they are expected to start in October.

Justice Secretary Jack Straw announced last month that legal aid funding would be provided to all families of those who died who requested it, and also funding would be provided for a legal team to represent the survivors.

It isn't really an inquest but a series of inquests.
This is what the dark forces have come up with to avoid having a public enquiry which the Coroners Acts specify for multiple suspicious deaths as in this case.
The point of a Public Enquiry being to avoid witnesses having to give evidence again and again and again to multiple inquests.

This is the same disgusting game the judicial profession play with paedophiles. They try to get cases split up so that the jury never gets to see the patterns of suspicious circumstances in groups of child sex offenders.
Here in Bristol the cops and judges tried to get a paedophile ring case in the nineties heard one-by-one over in Cardiff.
A deal was done and the suspects went on trial together, but over in Cardiff crown court.

I am disgusted to see the extent London's freemasonic legal elite will go to to cover up the truth and subvert the rule of law.
And the evil faceless criminals who aided and abetted the crime, that is Special Branch/MI5/MI6 and the dark forces who are dragging this country through the dirt get to give evidence from behind a screen. A disgusting farce.

Pity the dead.
This is not justice for them at all.

MI5 deceived the Parliamentary Intelligence and Security Committee (ISC). They told Parliament they did not have Mohammad Sidique Khan under surveillance before 7/7, when they did! Now they hide behind 'national security' to avoid a full public enquiry. How long can this farce continue? 5 lied. What else are they hiding about 7/7

Tony, I'm sure you know what you are talking about but despairing about the power of the Masons etc is not going to make any difference now. We need to build a popular movement for a full public enquiry into 7/7? Narcissist despair will achieve nothing? X

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/london/8646886.stm

MI5 deceived MPs by claiming London's 7/7 bombers had not been identified before the attacks, a court has heard.
In May 2006 the Parliamentary Intelligence and Security Committee (ISC) said security agencies had not identified the men.
But a second ISC report in 2009 said MI5 held records relating to ringleader Mohammad Sidique Khan, the court heard.
The claims were made at a hearing to decide the format of inquests into the deaths of those killed in 2005.
Khan and three other suicide bombers killed themselves and 52 innocent people when they detonated their devices on three Tube trains and one bus.

The coroner, Lady Justice Hallett, is holding a three-day hearing at the Royal Courts of Justice in London to decide what form the inquests - expected to start in October - should take.
Lawyers for the families of those who died argue that they should include a broad-ranging investigation of whether the authorities could have prevented the attacks.

'Incapable of deception'

Patrick O'Connor QC, counsel for four of the bereaved families and 15 survivors, said: "The last time MI5 was accused of deception... the ceiling seemed to fall in, as if MI5 is incapable of deception.
"They aren't, and they deceived the ISC."
He went on: "MI5 left the ISC under this misunderstanding - and therefore the British public - for three years, thinking they had not identified Mohammad Sidique Khan before the 7/7 bombings."
He said the ISC's findings would be "deeply undermined" if MI5 had deliberately misled the committee.
Mr O'Connor strongly criticised MI5's involvement in the 7/7 case, saying the agency demonstrated flaws in its assessment policy, record-keeping and co-operation with other agencies.
Neil Garnham QC, counsel for the home secretary and MI5, urged the coroner not to examine how the security service dealt with the limited information it had about the bombers before the attacks.
He said: "The public interest would, we submit, not be served - in fact would be positively damaged - by attempts in these inquests to reinvestigate the matters that were before the ISC."
Mr Garnham also suggested that national security could be damaged if the inquests attempted to delve deeper into MI5's activities.

The hearing continues.

This is a golden opportunity for the 7/7 Truth campaign to re-group and renew its call for a full public enquiry. Christopher Coltart is a hero and we should support what he is saying at the inquest with our activism?

After many years of setbacks and confusion the 7/7 truth campaigns now have a golden opportunity presented to them by a corrupt establishment.

The 7/7 coroners inquest (opening in October) will investigate what MI5 and the Police knew about Khan and other 7/7 suspects in the run up to the bombings but WITHOUT A JURY (to protect 5).

All UK 7/7 truth campaigners can now unite around a DEMAND for a jury at the inquest?

Let's not blow this opportunity? Lets get campaigning?

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/8696179.stm

7/7 inquests to probe MI5 and police role

Inquests into the deaths of 52 people killed in the 7/7 bombings will examine the alleged failings of MI5 in the run-up to the attacks, a coroner has ruled.

Lady Justice Hallett told the Royal Courts of Justice it was still possible to investigate what security services knew before the 2005 London attacks.

She also ruled the inquests of the four bombers would not be heard at the same time as those of the victims.

Victims' families said they hoped they would finally find out what happened.

Bereaved relatives have long campaigned for the inquests to investigate whether the attacks could have been prevented after it was revealed two of the bombers had cropped up in a surveillance operation more than a year before.

There is hope that finally the question, could 7 July have been prevented, might be answered Solicitor Clifford Tibber

They also want to know if there were any failings in the emergency response that followed.

Clifford Tibber, from the firm of solicitors representing many relatives, told a news conference the coroner's decision had sparked mixed feelings among relatives.

There was disappointment that the legal process had taken so long but also optimism that they would now learn "what actually happened to their loved ones", he said.

"There is a hope that if the response of the emergency services did in any way fail those who needed treatment, that lessons will have been learnt from those failings and that appropriate measures will be put in place in future to ensure it does not happen again.

"There is hope that finally the question, could 7 July have been prevented, might be answered," he added.

However, Mr Tibber did not rule out calling for a further public inquiry.

Prime Minister David Cameron asked questions about whether an inquiry would be held while in opposition and his deputy Nick Clegg had previously called for a full public inquiry, he added.

'Faith in coroner'

Fifty-two people died when suicide bombers struck aboard Tube trains near Edgware Road, King's Cross and Aldgate and on the number 30 bus at Tavistock Square, all in central London.

Janine Mitchell, whose husband Paul survived the King's Cross explosion, said she hoped the inquests would be a chance to finally learn about the role of the security services ahead of the attacks.

"We do not know what went on and we are relieved that someone independent of government is going to examine what happened," she told the news conference.

Again we have be shunted aside by officialdom
Survivor Jacqui Putnam

"We put all our faith in the coroner to do that, so if anything did go wrong it can be fixed."

Ros Morley, whose husband Colin was killed in the bombings, welcomed the ruling not to hold the bombers' inquests at the same time as those of their victims.

"It is absolutely the right decision," she said.

However, there was disappointment among the survivors after Lady Hallett confirmed that although she would give victims' relatives and the emergency services "interested persons" status, survivors would not receive the same right to question witnesses.

Jacqui Putnam, a survivor of the Edgware Road bombing, said she feared the coroner's decision would deny her and fellow survivors a proper voice.

"Our role now will be one of answering questions only - which we will do willingly, but our questions are not going to be answered unless they are asked by someone else who is one of the bereaved," she said.

"Again we have be shunted aside by officialdom."

No jury

Lady Hallett earlier explained in court that the inquests into the 52 deaths, which will be heard without a jury, would include the "alleged intelligence failings and the immediate aftermath of the bombings".

"To my mind it is not too remote to investigate what was known in the year or two before the alleged bombings," she said. "Plots of this kind are not developed overnight."

7/7 inquests 'chance to tell story'

Many of the bereaved families want to find out why the security service did not follow up the bombers' ringleader Mohammad Sidique Khan after he was witnessed meeting a known terror suspect 17 months before the attacks.

However, lawyers for MI5 have argued this evidence would give al-Qaeda an "invaluable weapon" and should not be disclosed.

Lady Hallett said that sitting without a jury would mean such sensitive intelligence material could be "more effectively examined", but she added that the secret nature of the evidence might limit the extent to which the issue could be explored.

Khan, 30, from Dewsbury, near Leeds, carried out the attacks with three other suicide bombers.

The 7/7 inquests are expected to begin in October at London's Royal Courts of Justice. They have been delayed by court cases connected to the bombings.

Survivors demanding a voice today
http://www.radio4all.net/index.php/program/42878

We have lots of questions but no voice, say survivors
Peter Dominiczak - 21.05.10
http://www.thisislondon.co.uk/standard/article-23836761-we-have-lots-o f-questions-but-no-voice-say-survivors.do

Survivors of the July 7 bombings told of their disappointment today that they will “have no voice” at the inquest despite welcoming the decision to question MI5 officers.

Jacqui Putnam, a survivor of the Edgware Road attack, said: “We have many questions that need answering. We were allowed to submit these questions to the security services but these questions were not answered.

“Our role now will only be one of answering questions which we will do willingly if we are asked, but our questions will not be answered.

“We feel like we have been shunted aside and we will have no voice. There is disappointment there.”

But relatives of those killed told of their delight that MI5 officers will appear at the inquest and that the bombers' inquests will be heard separately. Ros Morely, whose husband Colin was killed, said: “There would have been nothing positive about the inquests into bombers being held at the same time as 52 innocent people. We are all very relieved that is not the case. But it's not just looking at the past. We want the inquests to look at the present and future.

“If there was any alleged failing, it would be good to learn something from that. That would be something positive to come out of this.”

Their solicitor Clifford Tibber said he would not rule out appealing against the coroner's decision.

Ernest Adams, who lost his son James, said: “I understand why survivors are disappointed that they cannot be present at the inquest but they can always submit their view to the judge through their solicitors if they have concerns.

“They will be able to monitor the hearing and take part that way. Today's decision is the best thing that could have happened for families of victims, but this is not a victory.”

Surely the BBC and the rest of the MS media are out of order repeatedly referring to the definite article "7/7suicide bombers"? I thought we were innocent until PROVEN guilty after due process in this country, a principle that motivated us into terminating one million innocent people in Iraq among other things!

Khan, Tanweer, Lindsay, Hussain

.....are suspects in the 7/7 bombings. The case against them has not been proven in open court.

We all agree with Sheriton Hotel; innocent until proven guilty. However the 'but' is coming.

There is enough documentary evidence, and an almighty weight of circumstantial evidence showing that they are innocent. In view of the weight of this, IMO, it is not even fair to refer to them as the 'alleged bombers'.

Can I also add a note for the mods; is this in the wrong place?

The four men are indeed innocent until proven guilty. I supose the perps - whether the 4 in any way knew what was happening or not - would have hoped that as they would all be dead - killed by them or whatever - there would need to be no trial. Just a press conference by Sir Ian Blair.
My own instinct is that at least two of the four were involved in organised crime, drug running, money laudering etc. And we all know how disposable those types are.

Inquests, whether for the four suspects, or for the other people that died on 7/7, are not what the law prescribes. A public enquiry is what the law prescribes for multiple suspicious deaths. See the Coronors Acts.

To remove the jury so that MI5 'agree' to give evidence is utter putrefaction of the rule of law. If MI5 are required to give evidence and don't turn up they will be guilty of contempt an go down. This weasel of a coroner is as bent as they come. Just look at her.
If, as we suspect generally on this forum, there is widespresd corruption at the top of our institutions of state Heather Hallett is a prime candidate.
I wonder what her spiritual beliefs and background are.
Just imagine if she were an instrument of organised crime.
Unthinkable?

If it was a false flag this was certainly far more sophisticated operation by an order of magnituide than 9/11, with Peter Power's ?red herring? the Kingstar ?red herring? and other 'straw men' all designed to lead decent researchers down as many rabbit holes as possible.
The implication being that the next massive false flag will be even more sophisticated. All the boy scouts & girl guides out there, we better be prepared.

The first question should be "Why did they choose to be 'suicide bombers' when they could simply have left their bombs and scarpered to commit atrocities elsewhere? " If they were so determined to wreak terror on the West and the security was so lax due to our "freedoms" they could have bombed again and again until caught or self destructed if that looked likely. Was it because suicide bombing was all the rage? Were they just fashion mad? The whole episode stinks of a setup.

Nice one Item 8.
Another point to make at this juncture...
They would have known from the 'planning' stage that they were highly likely to have killed Muslims. In fact it was almost inevitable.
Surely that means they would be frowned upon greatly by Allah, who might consequently not be in the mood to be either gracious or merciful, and send them straight to hell or worse.

No, it makes not one jot of sense.
You'd have to have the mental age of, well, a BBC journalist to believe this c*** and bull story.

Your writings are always enlightening, always appreciated, Tony.

But perhaps we should avoid this diminutive "perps"?

Until they come out into the open and are proven innocent, I will underscore their criminal Common Purpose with the anti-PC term "PerpeTraitor" Cool

You have a point -
Perp/Traitors
I like it
The fact is almost nobody believes these 4 men did it without assistance of at least one 'mastermind'.
Although on the show we did the other day

looked at the failings of MI5 ... it seems MI6 may have been proactive in the bombings, possibly even supplying the explosives through Haroon Rashid Aswat and others.

Hmmmm, yes.... There MUST have been a mastermind. We tend to ignore the inescapable view that
the evil ingenuity of 7/7 (or 9/11) would demand highly-original creativity from a mind with a most-peculiar genius.

Searching 7/7 Ripple Effect to watch on YouTube for an unpteenth time, I came across an intriguing title:

The London Bombings by Ian McEwan

ttimothymurphy, introduces his extraordinary YouTube posting of May 07, 2010:

"MI5 has a tradition of preparing for fake events by scripting them as if they were novels.
"I believe a real novelist co-ordinated the fake events and characters of 7/7.
"If the police were searching for such an individual, Ian McEwan would be a prime suspect."

The suspicion absolutely demand one's closest attention for the entire 5-minute video:
(y)our suspicion begins Shocked as the camera rolls to Ian McEwan's well-published Saturday script of 2004..... roll on youtube... Arrow

The Government is also considering using its powers to transform the inquests into a public inquiry to tackle the problem of disclosing highly classified intelligence documents.

Press Association wrote:
MI5 may challenge July 7 coroner's ruling

(UKPA) – Jun 23, 2010

MI5 could mount a legal challenge to plans to scrutinise alleged police and security service failings at the inquests for victims of the July 7 attacks in London, a court has heard.

The Government is also considering using its powers to transform the inquests into a public inquiry to tackle the problem of disclosing highly classified intelligence documents.

Coroner Lady Justice Hallett ruled last month that the forthcoming inquests should examine whether the security authorities could have prevented the 2005 London bombings.

Ministers are now deciding whether to launch a judicial review of her judgment, a hearing at the Royal Courts of Justice in London was told.

Jonathan Hall, counsel for the Home Secretary and MI5, said the preference was to avoid a legal challenge if possible. He also revealed that Ministers were considering turning the inquests into a public inquiry "given the difficulties of dealing with the extremely sensitive material".

Section 17A of the Coroners Act 1988, as amended in 1999, gives the Lord Chancellor power to adjourn an inquest if the death is being investigated by a public inquiry. This provision was controversially used in the case of Azelle Rodney, 24, who was shot dead by police in London in 2005, after his inquest stalled over the release of secret evidence.

Lady Justice Hallett expressed frustration at the potential delays to the July 7 inquests caused by the security service's deliberations. She told Mr Hall: "Every week that goes past without MI5 and those others for whom you act engaging with my inquest team risks the timetable being extended. That has two very grave possible consequences. One is increasing the anguish of families and survivors. The other is increasing the costs."

In response, Mr Hall offered to let the coroner and her team inspect classified material at MI5's Thames House headquarters in London within a week. They will be allowed to see the full report about the bombings by the Parliamentary Intelligence and Security Committee (ISC) - only an edited version has been made public - and the speaking notes prepared for security service witnesses who gave evidence to the committee.

But none of this material can be disclosed to any of the other lawyers involved in the inquests, Mr Hall said. MI5 and the Home Secretary will decide whether to mount a judicial review challenge by July 16.

The inquests are expected to start in October in a courtroom at the Royal Courts of Justice. The hearing on Wednesday was told that the Legal Services Commission has not yet reached an agreement over legal aid to pay for lawyers to represent the families of the 52 innocent victims of the attacks at the inquests. A further preliminary hearing will be held on July 23.

J7 PRESS RELEASE
===========================================================

Greetings from J7: The July 7th Truth Campaign

7/7 INQUESTS BEGIN
===========================================================
Over five years on from the events of 7th July 2005 and, finally, the
inquests into 52 of the deaths that occurred that day are about to
commence in earnest. In a preliminary Inquest hearing on 23 June 2010
the coroner, Lady Justice Hallett, stated that she would accept
submissions suggesting questions and lines of inquiry for the Inquest to
consider.

J7 decided to seize the opportunity presented by Lady Justice Hallett's
generous offer to accept submissions suggesting lines of inquiry to the
7 July Inquest process. The J7 submissions were sent to Martin Smith,
the Solicitor to the Inquests on 23 July 2010, and subsequently to the
Counsels for the bereaved and survivors.

Our submissions detail suggested lines of inquiry and questions which we
believe should be proposed and considered by the Coroner in the process
of the Inquests relating to 7 July 2005.

Today J7 have published our submissions so that the general public can
be aware of at least some of the many unanswered questions that still
exist about the events of 7/7. Our submissions were prepared in
response to the publication by the 7 July Inquests of a Provisional
Index of Factual Issues. Copies of the Provisional Index of Factual
Issues, along with J7's Submissions to the 7 July Inquests can be
downloaded using the links below:

NOTES FOR EDITORS
===========================================================
- J7: The July 7th Truth Campaign was established shortly after the
events of 7th July 2005, when it transpired that the unfolding story was
giving rise to more questions than answers.

- J7's ongoing research efforts have twice forced the government to
amend the official Home Office narrative which, on one occasion,
required the then Home Secretary, Dr John Reid, to stand before
parliament and announce a major factual inaccuracy to the house.

- J7 do not accept that the Inquests into 52 of the 56 deaths should
stand in place of Inquests into the four men accused of perpetrating
the events of 7/7.

- J7 are dismayed that the families of the accused have been refused the
legal aid that would have allowed them to be represented at the current
round of Inquests.

- J7 fully expect that the Inquests into the four accused should be
opened and conducted publicly once the Inquests into the 52 have been
completed.

- J7 are concerned that some witnesses called at the Inquests may have
already been presented with the Metropolitan Police site reports from
each of the four locations. We have requested that any witnesses called
to give testimony at the Inquests are asked to state for the public
record whether they have viewed and/or read the Metropolitan Police
reports as it is highly unusual that witnesses called to give evidence
in any case would be privy to such reports. J7 are deeply concerned
about the impact and effects that having access to these reports prior
to giving their testimonies will have on their recollections of events
and the witness testimonies that will be given to the Inquests.

- In November 2005, after repeated refusals by the government to hold an
independent public inquiry into 7/7, and given the paucity of evidence
presented to support the official narrative of events, J7 established
its People's Investigation Forum to coordinate our ongoing research
efforts and track the progress of the many Freedom of Information
requests we have issued in order to try and uncover the truth.

- Over 3,200 people have signed our petition calling on the government
and police to release the evidence they claim to have. J7 supports all
calls for an independent public inquiry, and are the only organisation
calling for a public inquiry who specifically stipulate that any inquiry
should be held outside of the remit of the Inquiries Act 2005 that
subjects all public inquiries to full government control.

- The fruits of J7's research, along with articles by respected writers,
academics and researchers are published on our main web site at
www.julyseventh.co.uk.

In the Daily Mail today

Also shots of them in ASDA for " bags of ice to keep their homemade bombs cool"

Makes you wonder what would have happened if WH Smith had sold out of AA batteries ! (would you really buy the batteries on the same day as the so-called attack ?)

Of course you would!! If you are prepared to blow yourself up rather than place the bomb and walk away then you are obviously a loony.

One would have to ask, in what way had he been using the detonator to run the original batteries down in the first place?

Seems unlikely that you would just take them out of your ipod and say "oh what the hey, these'll do". Are we supposed to believe that he just put any old batteries he could find in the darned thing the night before
the most important day of his life bar none?

Where?
Looks like photoshop. Its just him with a sign in the background.
No evidence of anything.

Despite even the 'guardian' stating the Inquest was shown CCTV on the day of the bombings by the bombers where is it?

There are also other questions one could ask. Like:

* Where has this CCTV film been since 7/7

* Isn't there supposed to be a chain of security for this type of evidence
and therefore it must have been in police custody since the day it was
recovered from where ever

* Who has attested to the validity of this evidence (as conspiracy analyst
said) which camera, where, what date and time, who 'found' it

* Where is the evidence that AA batteries were used as the detonators

The whole thing would laughable if it wasn't so serious for the now deceased 'bombers', their families, the victims of the bombs and the NWO using this cr*p for their colonial expansioninst policies.

Why is it that pictures of innocent people being massacred is useful for propaganda purposes.
As usual with the met the opposite is the truth

Quote:
Fears over 7/7 footage at inquest

Published Date: 05 October 2010 - by Sam Marsden

NEW video of the Tube trains ripped apart in the 7/7 bombings is to be released at the inquests for those who died a hearing was told yesterday.
But the Metropolitan Police raised concerns that the footage could be used by jihadists in terrorist propaganda. The material will be shown next week at the start of the inquests into the deaths of the 52 victims of the 7 July, 2005 attacks on London.

It includes CCTV of the four suicide bombers, photographs and video of the wrecked Tube carriages and No 30 bus after the devices were detonated, and extracts from calls to London Underground's control centre.

Hugo Keith, QC, told the pre-inquest hearing the material had been edited so as not to show any particularly distressing scenes. But Max Hill QC, for the Metropolitan Police, voiced fears it could be used on extremist websites for "cynical purposes".

One of the survivors of the 7/7 tube bombings - professional lawyer Thelma Stober - has succeeded in getting the coroner in charge of the Inquest into 7/7 to allow her to given her evidence to the Court in in person. The Coroner's office met with Thelma Stober on Thursday morning, and at midday they announced that on Monday 25 October, Thelma will be able to give evidence in person. The coroner was responding to Thelma's plea that survivors should be given the choice whether or not to tell the Court in their own words what happened to them. Thelma's written statement was due to be read to the court by a third party next week.

From Kurt Barling's report on BBC News South-East - Thursday 21st Oct (written before the coroner's announcement yesturday): "Thelma believes she speaks for many when she says that her hopes of getting some closure are being dashed because she is unable to present her evidence in person in court."

Barling also writes (read this - POSSIBLY HUGELY SIGNIFICANT): "In one important respect Thelma believes the Court may not fully appreciate the facts of what happened in her carriage. She believes there are serious discrepancies in her recollections and the evidence that is likely to be seen by the court. Only by witnesses closest to the bombers having their statements tested in court, she argues, can the truth be established."
