In the 2013 budget Osborne announced that he had caved in to pressure from the LibDems to guarantee everyone earning £10,000 would pay no tax

Budget 2013: Workers will not pay any tax on the first £10,000 of their wages from next year as rise in personal allowance brought forward

But the Joseph Rowntree Trust have just reported that each worker needs to earn at least £20,000, double what the government say, to live a life out of poverty.
