I have also been inundated with e-mails claiming that the opening ceremony, scheduled for July 7th (sic), has been cancelled. Other early World Cup dates in the e-mail are given as being in July.
It actually starts on 9th June - with an opening ceremony:

I am not suggesting that this precludes any 'terrorist activity' but it lends heavily to ones credibility if one gets ones easily verifyable facts straight. |
