BADACA is working together with PCS, NUT, ATL, UCU and Bristol Trades Union Council to make the day of action on June 30th a success. A demonstration is planned in the city centre in the middle of the day along with other events highlighting the extent of the cuts and the fightback against them. Full details of the day coming soon. We will need people to help distribute publicity.

If the ballots are successful co-ordinated strike action will be called along with UCU amd ATL members on Thursday 30th June. 750,000 workers will be on strike against the government’s cuts. Events below, especially the conference on 18th June are designed to help ensure this strike sends a message to the government that people across the public and private sectors are opposed to the cuts.

Apparently this is quite unprecedented for the ATL as they are generally a moderate non striking union. Last time they got involved in national action was back in 1979.
