DETECTIVES are hunting British Nazis who they believe may have helped Anders Breivik murder 77 people, it emerged yesterday.
Norwegian police have allegedly been given the names of potential accomplices by anti-Muslim blogger Paul Ray.

Yesterday was the second day of police questioning for English Defence League blogger Paul Ray known as ‘Richard the lionheart’, suspected to be the mentor of Anders Behring Breivik, the mastermind behind the brutal shooting on Norway’s Utoya island.
The 35-year-old Briton who resides in Malta, came into the police and media spotlight after the bombing and shooting massacre on 22 July, which left 77 dead.
In his manifesto, Breivik referred to his alleged mentor, ‘Richard the lionheart’ several times. Members of the extreme-right organisation EDL stated that ‘Richard’ was Paul Ray, who is behind the blog ‘Lionheart’.
Mr Ray had told Dagbladet newspaper that he would travel to Norway to clear his name, if he did not hear anything from the Norwegian police first.
Norwegian broadcasting network (NRK) reported that Ray has denied any connection to Breivik and has condemned Breivik’s mass murder. “That’s why I’m here in Norway now,” Ray told NRK in the arrivals hall at the airport.
The Foreigner reported prosecutor Christian Hatlo saying: “Ray is an interesting person for the police because Breivik says he is his mentor. We would have wanted to question him anyway if he had not come to Norway.”
Breivik has claimed that he and Ray met in London nine years ago when they co-founded the Knights Templar organisation, but the EDL member is contesting having met Breivik.
“I have never spoken to him or had contact with him in any other way, and I have in no way been his mentor,” Ray told Norwegian journalists, upon his arrival at Oslo Gardermoen Airport on Wednesday.
It is also suspected that Breivik considered Ray his role model, and the EDL blogger has previously admitted he “could have been the influence” behind the mass murderer’s antics.
“It does worry me that he was possibly inspired from my blog and it does look that way,” he said.
Ray, whose real name is Paul Sonato, confessed that he was against the attacks, and he declared: “I am horrified that I am linked to what happened there.”
“How can anyone in a sane mind condone what he did? The mind boggles at it and you cannot comprehend what he has done…What he did was pure evil. I could never use what he has done to further my own beliefs.”
Before his initial questioning on Wednesday, Ray claimed he was sure his name would be cleared. Talking of ‘tremendous strain’ because of media pressure, he also suggested that police should focus on another blogger, ‘Fjordman’, instead.
Police have previously interviewed ‘Fjordman’ after he came forward voluntarily to distance himself from Breivik.
While several foreign police forces are assisting the Norwegians with their investigations, it is not clear how the Maltese police and authorities are involved. Paul Ray has now told Dagbladet he has evidence that Breivik wanted to lay the blame on him.
Referring to Breivik’s YouTube video, uploaded only a few hours before the attack, Ray said: “I have studied it. Breivik only mentions ‘Lionheart’ to defame me. That is the only reason why my picture is there,” he alleged.
Newspaper Aftenposten yesterday reported that Norway’s police intelligence unit PST was devoting more attention to right-wing extremists and monitoring their online activity.
A PST spokesman told Aftenposten: “We see the importance of gathering information about what’s going on, on the websites in question. OSLO, Norway (AP) — Norwegian police will no longer insist that confessed mass killer Anders Behring Breivik be held in isolation as he awaits trial on terror charges for July attacks that killed 77 people, a spokesman for the investigation said Thursday.
Police attorney Christian Hatlo said investigators are increasingly confident that the right-wing extremist had no accomplices when he set off a bomb in Oslo's government district and opened fire at a political youth camp outside the capital.
As a result, they won't ask for his solitary confinement to be extended when it expires next week, Hatlo told reporters in Oslo.
"We consider it safe to take him off isolation," Hatlo said.
However, he added that the decision means little in practice for the 32-year-old Norwegian, because authorities at the Ila prison still want to keep him isolated from other prisoners for security reasons. A ban on newspapers, visitors, correspondence, Internet and TV access is in effect until Nov. 14.
Hatlo said investigators found 186 ammunition shells on Utoya island, the ruling Labor Party retreat where police say Breivik killed 69 people attending a summer camp for the party's youth wing.
In a 1,500-page manifesto posted online before the attacks, Breivik called for a revolution to purge Europe of Muslims and punish politicians who have embraced immigration.
But Hatlo said police have found no evidence to support Breivik's claims that he belongs to a network of modern-day crusaders opposed to multiculturalism, and that two other cells are ready to strike.
"We are becoming more and more certain that no two cells exist in the way that he describes," Hatlo said.
He said police have questioned Breivik on 14 occasions and believe that he had the knowledge and skills to put together the explosives used in the Oslo bombing on his own.
Still, police have asked authorities in about 20 countries to bring in people for questioning to find out more about Breivik's contacts and his purchases of bomb-making chemicals, Hatlo said.

Nineteen people in Poland were arrested on suspicion of providing explosives and bomb-making material to Anders Behring Breivik, the Norwegian terrorist who killed 77 people in Oslo in July. The arrests included twelve people from a Poznan-based company that sold explosive fuses over the Internet.
Poland's Internal Security Agency worked with Norway's police investigators to locate the Polish suppliers.
Breivik used the Polish fuses to detonate a bomb outside of government headquarters in Oslo. The blast killed eight people and injured dozens more. Shortly after the bombing, while police were evacuating the city center, Breivik opened fire on an island summer camp outside the city. He was wearing a police uniform when he attacked teenagers at a government-sponsored diplomatic retreat.
Breivik has admitted to killing 77 people, but pleaded not guilty to "committing acts of terrorism," feeling that he didn't do anything morally wrong.
Police were able to locate many of Breivik's suppliers thanks to a 1,500-page manifesto he distributed before the attacks titled "2083: A European Declaration of Independence."
In "2083," Breivik detailed how to make explosives and where to get supplies, retelling his experiences in ordering chemicals such as aluminum powder and sodium nitrate. He paid for the supplies using PayPal.
The section on bomb-making reads:
"To my surprise; I learned that my own country had at least one forum where the acquisitions of chemicals were discussed. And if my country, of 5 million, has it, then most countries will... Many of them order online (this works as very few of the compounds are illegal, just regulated) while others take road trips to f example Poland to get materials directly from small factories. These materials are then smuggled without problems to the country of destination. Many of these East-Block factories will sell most chemicals to you as long as you seem like a credible buyer (non-Muslim, non-extremist)."
Breivik built his bombs on a rented farm 100 miles north of the Norwegian capital. Posing as a farmer, Breivik also reportedly bought fertilizer from a local store without incident. Five days after Breivik's arrest, Norwegian police detonated a cache of left-over explosive materials at the farm.
Police said in July that they are also investigating the existence of Breivik's "survivor's kit." In the manifesto, Breivik said he hid weapons, ammunition, food and money to help him break out of prison, should he be captured alive.
In the manifesto, Breivik details his belief that the vast majority of European politicians and media figures are complicit in allowing Europe to be slowly conquered by Islam, and advocates an armed resistance that he continually compares to the Knights Templar, a Christian order that was formed to protect pilgrims during the Crusades.
"Western Europe is today dominated by an alien system of beliefs, attitudes and values that we have come to know as 'Political Correctness,' Breivik wrote in "2083." "Political Correctness seeks to impose a uniformity of thought and behaviour on all Europeans and is therefore totalitarian in nature...Political Correctness is Marxism, with all that implies: loss of freedom of expression, thought control, inversion of the traditional social order, and, ultimately, a totalitarian state."
Breivik, who has been in jail since July, was released from solitary confinement on Thursday. In a confirmation of the official theory, Anders Behring Breivik was yesterday declared mentally unreliable, and so cannot be punished for blowing up the Government building in Oslo and massacring 69 kids at Utøya on 22/7.
Anders will therefore not go to jail for this. Rather he will be given medical and psychiatric attention at Dikemark sanatorium outside Oslo.
According to «experts», Anders has been mentally unreliable throughout his planning and preparation period, all through the massacre on 22/7 itself, and still is. Others claim that such a mentally unreliable person would not even be able to drive a car, let alone handle powerful explosives.
