This is not much different from British life today in cities, especially in indoor shopping centres...a breeding ground for power-crazy brainwashed, so-called 'security guards' dying to lynch anyone loooking at them the wrong way. Well, it does help them pass the time in their monotonous 12 hour shift and they get to look good in front of their mates and they may even get a promotion or pay rise and it gives the centre security manager a reason to keep his job despite wasting Police time.
