On June 5, 2006, FBI Headquarters were were aked to explain why the FBI's Bin Laden’s Most Wanted poster did not indicate that Bin Laden was also wanted in connection with 9/11.
Rex Tomb, Chief of Investigative Publicity for the FBI, when asked why there is no mention of 9/11 on Bin Laden’s Most Wanted web page, said,
“The reason why 9/11 is not mentioned on Usama Bin Laden’s Most Wanted page is because the FBI has no hard evidence connecting Bin Laden to 9/11.”
We can, of course, forget the deliberately deceptive word "hard". |

It is therefore a pity that they couldn't have made this assertion before plastering his face all over the media on the day that it happened.
In the meantime, there's a new al-Qaeda boogeyman on the horizon in Iraq. Abu Hamza al-Muhajir has been named as the new successor as al-Zarqawi.
Interesting. If you were running terrorist ops against highly-entrenched coalition forces, would you bother to tell them who you were? |
