Paid fellowship to learn campaigning skills

I received this email, which may well be of interest to some of you:

'This year has been a big year for SumOfUs – we are now a community of 1.25 million standing up against corporate power! However, we want to be even more ambitious and not just grow our community, but diversify it too. We want our staff, and others in the online campaigning world, to be more representative of the communities that we work with and on behalf of.

This is why we are launching a program for people who want to grow into professional online campaigners, especially those from ethnic minority or migrant backgrounds, or who have close links with those communities. We’re offering them a 7-week, full-time, paid fellowship to learn some solid campaigning skills, network with experts, and hopefully be supported to find employment at the end. The best thing? They can do it from anywhere in Europe!

We also recognise that one of the key barriers to entry into the campaigning sector is economic: too many campaigners get their start with unpaid internships or on salaries too low to support themselves unaided, which makes campaigning a profession suited mainly to the privileged. That’s why this fellowship pays a living wage.
