It this right to withdraw a new measure?

What do they say the chip is for? What would happen if you accidentaly microwaved it for a few seconds? Would you still be able to travel?

I cant see how to download those.
I was planning on renewing v soon to avoid the 2008 biometric nightmare.
Surely, as current passports dont have these RFID's in em then a quick zap with a small camera emp would not invalidate them?
I havent heard the microwave idea, i imagine that would work?
