Extra £50m for Dounreay nuclear clean up
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-highlands-islands-28034766
This story raises some questions.
"clean up" infers that there is some dirt. Within this context, it must mean potentially lethal nuclear waste. Does this mean that if this "Extra £50m" did not manifest then the situation would be that of a state of nuclear dirt still being available for cleaning? If the answer is no, then what is the "Extra £50m" going to be spent on?
The pub?
or is it simply more msm, bs? |

Hi Harry,
In the context of £1.6billion budget for the facility (for storage of low level radiation) then an extra £50million is not a particularly bad overspend. I think the real figure to concentrate on is not the extra £50 million but the £1.6 billion! The other aspect to consider is the 300 years that the facility will be off limits to anything approaching an organic life form. This is the reason I hate nuclear power, the cr*p being left for future generations.
Consider the low level waste facility over in the states...
The New Mexico Waste Isolation Pilot Plant - built at a cost $19 billion - now rendered completely useless after an accident earlier this year and now, after spreading plutonium into the atmosphere, requires 13 layers of concrete to make it safe.

You would have thought that a $19 billion disaster would make the news but apparently MSM does not report important news... |
