Article below taken from:

It is a relief to find an article written by a Jewish person that does not spin the savage assault on Lebanese civilian society as justifiable and restrained retaliation. Jon Hari in the Independent today presented much the same message.

Lebanon crisis reveals an Anti-Jewish Israeli State

by Joshua Stein

Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert along with his confederates who bombs innocent civilians in Lebanon, in the name of protecting a 'Jewish State' has committed a great apparent abomination against Jewish law.

Hezbollah militants crossed into Israel in mid-July 2006 and captured two Israeli soldiers. Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert calls the soldiers' capture "an act of war." Israel then responds in southern Lebanon with warplanes, tanks and gunboats, among other forms of military retaliation. U.S. President George W. Bush responds a couple of days after Israel's abrupt military response by rejecting a request by Lebanese Prime Minister Fuad Saniora to support calls for an immediate ceasefire on Israel.

Members of the Israeli government including Prime Minister Olmert refer to themselves as Jews, who are champions of the Jewish State of Israel as Mr. Bush refers to himself as a "Christian" champion. However, the current crisis in Lebanon has nothing substantively to do with either Judaism or Christianity.

The hideous intelligence of Jewish and Christian impostors

Israeli elites who bomb innocent Lebanese civilians are influenced by the Leo Strauss, who was a Zionist who sought to re-create German Nazism in a scheme of "World Domination".

Judaism, and the Christianity that Jesus inspired, are religions which embrace peace, and a related system of social ethics. In contrast, the perpetrated actions by Israeli elites and their U.S. neo-conservative allies against innocent Lebanese civilians, reveals a hideous intelligence far from the spirit of either Judaism or Christianity.

The perpetration of a criminal act of a group who kidnaps two soldiers, does not justify the infliction of or the loss of not even one innocent life of a human being. Indeed, the Lord's Commandments to both the Jews and the Christians is "Thou Shall not Kill". Israel to-date is already responsible for thousands of casualties, maimings, and injuries. However, it is apparent that these modern day Israelis along with their allies, have turned their back against the enlightened messages of the Torah. That action is somewhat reminiscent of early Israelites who turned to worshipping the "Golden Calf", when Moses was on Mt. Sanai. The "Golden Calf" has symbolized the worship of idoltry and of materialism, and has resulted in the execution of venality, and of iniquity.

Jewish social responsibility ignored

Pursuant to the Torah, every Jew is a guarantor for every other Jew. Judaism teaches you're either part of the problem or you're part of the solution. Being a bystander is not an option. Therefore, any Jew who turns a blind eye to the apparent unethical conduct of a self-professed "Jewish State" shares the responsibility in the "Crimes against Humanity" that are being mischievously perpetrated in the name of Judaism.

Is Israel in fact, a Jewish State in the spirit of the Torah?

If Israel was in fact a 'Jewish State', its leaders would unconditionally express lovingkindness, civility, empathy, and peace in a spirit of social justice. Israel would be a model Just Society, in the world where Jews, Palestinians, other Arabs, and other peoples would live side by side, with an equitable quality-of-life, and with a spirit of cross-cultural sharing and understanding. However, the actions of Israeli elites have once again shown in Lebanon that they do not value the lives of non-Israelis, who have no ill will toward them. The reckless bombing of Lebanese civilians for the kidnapping of two soldiers by the criminal actions of a group, shows the very apparent racist and fascistic Israeli mentality, which is at the heart of creating the conditions for crises in the Middle East. Indeed, the Palestinians and other Arabs in "Greater Israel" are treated even worse than had black Africans in apartheid South Africa. Palestinians and other Arabs are also viewed by the very elites who attack Lebanon, with apparently not much higher regard, than the blacks had been viewed in the former apartheid regime. Prevailing Israeli elites do not express the vital spirit of Judaism in their actions.

Actual Judaism challenges the mis-deeds of Israeli elites

This is the spirit of Judaism: A Rabbi and Imam shaking each other's hand in a spirit of mutuality, peace, and cross-cultural appreciation.

Judaism, reveres G-d as creating the Universe, the Heavens, the Earth and all its living creatures. When Israeli elites bomb and kill thousands of innocent civilians in Lebanon, they are defiling the spirit of G-d in everyone. When such activities are done in the name of defending a "Jewish State", these Israeli elites further compound the mischief in their German Nazi 'SS' type of barbarity.

Jews, including substantively Jews who are citizens of Israel, have a responsibility, in part to champion peace among all nations, rather than executing oppression and inflicting war among all the nations. This special duty is associated with Jews having pledged a Covenant with G-d concluded with the biblical patriarch Abraham, their ancestor, and again with the entire Jewish nation at Mount Sinai. Within this view, Jews are charged with embracing a standard of spiritually inspired social ethics to help usher a sought era of ever-lasting global peace.

This is NOT the spirit of Judaism, but rather, and Israeli State that turns it back to Jewish law and social ethics: Israeli army tank facing-off against Palestinian child, or woman of Arab background showing a photo of a member of the Israeli woman pointing a gun at a woman and her children.

The Guiding Principles of Reform Judaism, Columbus, Ohio, 1937, for example, specifically states "We regard it as our historic task to cooperate with all men in the establishment of the kingdom of God, of universal brotherhood, Justice, truth and peace on earth. This is our Messianic goal."

Contrary to the actions of Israeli elites in Lebanon, Rabbi Joseph Soloveitchik writes "Even as the Jew is moved by his private Sinaitic Covenant with G-d to embody and preserve the teachings of the Torah, he [or she] is committed to the belief that all humankind, of whatever colour or creed, is "in His image" and is possessed of an inherent human dignity and worthiness. Rabbi Malkiel Kotler, dean of the Haredi Lakewood Yeshiva, in the commentary entitled 'The Real Truth About the Talmud' writes "Our philosophy asserts that every human being is created in the image of the Lord and the primacy of integrity and honesty in all dealings without exception. I strongly repudiate any assertions in the name of Judaism that do not represent and reflect this philosophy."

Rabbi David Weiss Outside the Israeli Consulate at Rally Co-sponsored by Islamic Center of Jersey City, and related groups in October 2000, stipulated that "The Jewish people are commanded by Almighty G-d to live in peace with all peoples and nations on the face of the globe." Rabbi Weiss affirmed that "Our national agenda [as Jews] is simple -- It is to humbly worship the Creator at all times," by in part, showing empathy, and respect for each other in a spirit of mutuality.

"As Torah Jews" Rabbi Weiss says "we are called upon to feel and express our sense of compassion when any person or group of human beings suffers. This includes the current suffering of the Lebanese, and the on-going sufferings of the Palestinians. In the words of King David, the Psalmist, "And His Mercy is upon all His creatures. All men are created in the image of G-d."

Rabbi Weiss further made representation that "When we look at the cauldron of suffering which the Middle East has become for the Palestinian people, we stand back aghast -- homes and lives lost, family suffering, the list goes on and on."

Why have the tragic events of last 52 years come to pass?

Rabbi David Weiss expresses the Jewish spirit, in solidarity with Muslims and other peoples.

Rabbi Weiss indicates that "The answer lies in one word - Zionism." Zionism is in fact, a form of neo-fascism. Having had many relatives who lost their lives in the Holocaust, the hypocritical Israeli elites now inflict their own brand of neo-fascism, in the form of militaristic and racist Zionism.

Rabbi Weiss indicates that "Zionism has misled some Jews into thinking that there exists a need to pursue aggressive policies against the Palestinian people (and other peoples in Middle East) to steal their land and persecute their people."

This is hardly surprising as it is a creed in direct opposition to the basics of Jewish faith, which pivots on the enlightened messages of the Torah.

Rabbi Weiss refers to Zionism as "an embarrassment to the Torah Jew.", and further stipulates that "Our prayers for the Messianic era are centered on the future -- a future when G-d alone, without any human involvement, will redeem all humankind, who will then worship Him together in peace.

The Torah's ways are peace. Indeed, furthermore, centuries ago, Micah the Prophet, offered a vision of peace. No longer ruled by war and violence, humans would live together, unharmed, and content. Lo yisa goi el goi cherev lo yilmedu od milchama.

Bombings not the actions of a "Jewish" State....

The bombing of Lebanon is therefore not the actions of a "Jewish" State. The bombing of Lebanon is also not even the actions of even a State concerned with protecting "the lives of soldiers", or even simply 'national boundaries'. The lives of all Israeli soldiers that are now significantly further threatened, could have been spared by a truly responsible Jewish response, to such kidnapping. Indeed, arguably, the kidnapping would have not have occurred in the first place, if the ways of peace expressed in the Torah had been embraced by an ethical Israeli State governance. The bombing of Lebanon also certainly did not make Israeli citizens feel more secure, as retaliatory military strikes are unleashed into Israel from southern Lebanon.

The mythology of the "fight against terrorism"

According to reports in the mass-media, that include the Zionist and neo-conservative CanWest Global, Israel had to act in the way that it has militarily perpetrated, in order to deal with "Hezbollah terrorists". However, it is self-evident that this is propaganda. Rather, the best and also ethical way to deal with such a criminal elements associated with Hezbollah (and other groups like Hamas), is to alleviate the atrocious oppressive socio-economic conditions perpetrated by Israeli elites, in the areas where Hezbollah gets its recruits. Such an alternative critical appreciation is inspired by the wisdom of the Jewish Torah.

However, the actions of the Israeli elites, (along with their U.S. neo-conservative backers), are not aimed at combating terrorism. On the contrary, it is apparent that these elites seek to substantively "fan the flames" of so-called "terrorism", so that these elites can have a contrived justification to inflict more oppression, and human suffering. It is apparent that these elites have sold out, and have exchanged the Torah and the Bible, for the quest of the pursuit of a plan of oppression, bullying, provocation, and "World Domination".

Architects of War seek a "New World Order"

When Newt Gingrich indicated in the U.S. media, that "we are already into World War III", he was simply expressing the apparent 'wishful thinking' of the hideous intelligence of neo-conservative elites. These elites talk of "anti-Terrorism", while engaging in conduct that provokes so-called "terrorism".

In the apparent mentality of elites, a World War III is not to be 'avoided', but to be carefully "planned", alongside Corporate "Globalization", so that the "right people" can rule the Earth, and control, as well as, use, its resources. In the apparent 'wishful thinking' for World War III, betrayed by Gingrich's comments, such a War would necessitate permanent "martial law", so that "liberal democracy" can be done away with, once and for all. This process has already been taking place in the United States, and other societies, under the elite contrived so-called "War on Terrorism". It is apparent that fascistic neo-conservatives that include 'anti-Jewish' Israeli elites, deplore the sharing of power with the "inferior races of the world" domestically, and through democratic inspired fora like the United Nations. In the view of neo-conservatives , World War III would usher into the world a "Golden Area" of jingoistic totalitarian rule under the direct of "rich" owners of capital, who would consolidate the so-called "New World Order".

In the process, the elites who prevail over an agenda of oppression via war and "Globalization" believe that the Lebanese and other Muslims, whether Hezbollah or not, are all guilty of being "inferior races". The senseless bombing of innocent civilians in Lebanon by Israeli elites, backed by U.S. neo-conservatives, can only be explained if, these elites do not value the lives of innocent human beings, who are culturally different peoples. This is the apparent psychopath-like fascist prism that now shapes the seekers of a "New World Order", in which Lebanon is another sought step to that sought goal.

Interesting extract from Independant Media Centre....
---------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------

The fury of Israel's offensive in Lebanon has more than a few observers shaking their heads. The vast majority of Western media reports do not accurately portray the fact that the vast majority of the dead are civilians, most of them women and children.

A Reuters dispatch this week described Israel's choice of targets as "puzzling," but for the most part Western television viewers, newspaper readers, and Web surfers are reading highly sanitized versions of the news, spun in such a way as to dilute the brutality of the Israeli onslaught and especially to ensure that blame is placed squarely on Lebanon in general and Hizbullah in particular.

Of course there are brave and honorable Western journalists working here, and many of them are determined to tell the truth about what is happening. One has to assume, therefore, that what the decent ones report is being heavily edited somewhere along the line before it gets to the consumer. This is presumably intended as a prophylactic against the inevitable charges of "anti-Semitism" and resultant drops in advertising revenues that will follow unvarnished coverage of Israeli brutality. The product of this regime of fear has been a generation of biased reporting that portrays the Jewish state as weak when it is very strong, moderate when it is frequently extremist, democratic when it is often theocratic, liberal when it is commonly draconian - in short, "Western" when it is anything but.

Coverage of the current conflict is a case in point. The two most commonly watched English-language news channels available in Lebanon are CNN and the BBC. With few exceptions, their reports are filed by reporters standing in the relatively safe and comfortable confines of Downtown Beirut, the picturesque showcase of Lebanon's now-aborted recovery from its 1975-90 Civil War. There has been no damage in this part of the city thus far (although there are concerns that that step in the escalation process is rapidly approaching), so the very background is highly misleading about what is happening. Just a few kilometers away in Beirut's Dahiyeh Junubiyyeh (southern suburbs), Israeli air strikes and naval gunfire have reduced entire neighborhoods to rubble. No one knows how many people are buried in these piles of shattered concrete and twisted steel, only that local residents would have had far less warning than Hizbullah members did about the beginning of so many ends - and that most of their escape routes were cut off by the destruction of roads and overpasses before the Dahiyeh itself became a target.

A similar situation exists in the southern third of the country, usually a half-hour bus ride from Beirut. Now it can take hours in either direction because vehicles cannot get through. Instead, people are shuttled from one giant crater to the next, where they walk across debris-strewn holes in the ground or wade through rivers once spanned by wrecked bridges to reach another taxi or mini-bus that will take them to the next impasse. Throughout the journey, their vehicles are subject to Israeli attacks, so many people stay home and try to "ride it out." But a considerable number are subsequently convinced to run the gauntlet when the Israeli military warns them that they have "two or three hours" to leave their villages. On numerous occasions, such warnings have been followed less than an hour later by air or artillery strikes on civilian vehicles leaving the village. They keep leaving, though, because those who stay in their homes have frequently found out that the Israelis mean it when they say an area is about to become "unsafe" for civilians: Dozens of civilians have been killed in their own homes - with and without warnings beforehand. The message for these unfortunate people is that "nowhere is safe." In fact, that is precisely what an Israeli general said in the opening stages of the offensive.

Why has the Israeli military singled out these two areas for punishment? Because they are populated primarily by the impoverished and largely disenfranchised Shiites who make up Hizbullah's constituency. Multiple ironies are at work here. For one thing, the Dahiyeh's 500,000-strong population consists largely of Shiites from the South Lebanon who have fled successive waves of Israeli "retribution" (i.e. collective punishment). When Palestinian militias attacked northern Israel from South Lebanon in the 1970s, one of Israel's answers was indiscriminate bombardment. This drove tens of thousands of local villagers to Beirut, where they established the Dahiyeh.

For another, when Israel first invaded Lebanon in 1978 (not 1982, as typically reported in the Western media), many Shiites greeted them with rose petals. Life under the de facto rule of unruly Palestinian militias had not been easy, so despite the damage and casualties inflicted by Israeli ripostes, it was commonly believed that Israeli occupation might not be so bad. Then came 1982, when the Israelis rolled all the way to Beirut after promising Washington that they meant only to establish a 25-kilometer "buffer zone." The carnage in the South was horrific, and the ensuing occupation included measures like the dismissal of local village elders in favor of appointed stooges and provocations timed to coincide with sensitive religious dates. The Shiites revolted, and Hizbullah was born.

Subsequent spasm of violence (the worst in 1985 and 1996), usually caused by tit-for-tat exchanges between Hizbullah and the Israeli military that spun out of control, displaced more and more Shiites, filling the Dahiyeh with an understandably resentful generation of young men determined to run no more.

All of this goes unmentioned on CNN. Its idea of "balance" is to make sure that each report about a new massacre of innocents in Lebanon is aired alongside one about civilian injuries or deaths from Hizbullah rocket strikes, even if the incident is 36 hours old. Only rarely do the reports in question mention that while the Dahiyeh is for all intents and purposes a giant refugee camp, northern Israel and the nearby settlements in occupied Palestine are prosperous areas with a substantial contingent of immigrants from places like the United States and Canada, many of whom voluntarily live illegally on occupied Palestinian land.

Hizbullah's decision to snatch two Israeli soldiers evinced poor judgment and even worse timing, but the Israeli response has been out of all proportion to the original incident. The numbers speak for themselves. As of Wednesday evening, Israeli attacks had killed at least 292 civilians in Lebanon, while Hizbullah rockets had killed 13 noncombatants in the Jewish state. Lebanon has approximately 3.5 million people. On a per-capita basis, that means that as of Wednesday, the rough equivalent of 9/11 has happened every day here for eight days.

Good article, Mission911.

Check the medialens messageboard site for examples of the biased reporting that has been happening.........

Also this from the excellent http://kurtnimmo.com/: (embedded links at the site):

Demonizing Hezbollah: Usher in Ayman al-Zawahiri
Thursday July 27th 2006, 8:24 am

Now that Ayman al-Zawahiri, or rather the stand-in we are told is Ayman al-Zawahiri, has sanctioned Hezbollah’s resistance against Israel’s invasion of Lebanon, we can expect the corporate media to have a field day, connecting Hezbollah to “al-Qaeda” and its crazed Sunni beheaders.

As we know, al-Zawahiri has verified links to the Pentagon, as he served as commander of the Mujahedeen forces in the Balkans.

“The role of the Pentagon in airlifting the Mujahedeen terrorists into Bosnia and Kosovo between 1992 to 1995 has been well documented and widely reported in the European and Canadian media, but almost completely ignored in the United States,” writes Tim Howells for Online Journal.

Another bit of information, long ago flushed down the memory hole (reconstituted here), reveals how al-Zawahiri was sponsored by FBI operative and failed CIA agent Ali Mohamed, who brought him to San Francisco on a “covert fund-raising mission” during the Pentagon’s recruitment of “al-Qaeda,” sent to Bosnia (see this congressional press release, dated 16 January 1997).

“The war with Israel does not depend on cease-fires…. It is a Jihad for the sake of God and will last until (our) religion prevails … from Spain to Iraq,” the Pentagon operative al-Zawahiri told the world through al-Jazeera television, never mind that al-Zawahiri’s violent version of Wahabbi Sunni Islam is at odds with Shi’a Islam, the sect Hezbollah’s follows.

“Zawahiri’s comments indicated that Al-Qaeda, which is made up of Sunni Islamist extremists, was prepared to help Hezbollah despite differences with the Shia sect,” adds the Khaleej Times.

If we are to buy the official version of events, “al-Qaeda” has spent a lot of time and money in Iraq slaughtering Shi’a Muslims, deemed infidels deserving little more than an ignoble death. But both have put aside their differences—for instance, the bloody Shi’a-Sunni sectarian violence in Iraq—and are now happily collaborating.

In an effort to iron out this inconsistency, the neocons have flipped into overdrive. “If the Lebanese conflict drags on, it would be likely that al Qaeda would try to work again with its occasional ally in an alliance of convenience that could benefit both groups,” writes Douglas Farah, a former “investigative journalist” for the CIA’s favorite newspaper, the Washington Post. “The chaos in the region benefits all the non-state armed groups, and such circumstances often give rise to transitory (or perhaps permanent) alliances between groups that share the same goals and resources. While Zarqawi fanned the flames of the Sunni-Shi’ite divide inside Iraq, it was in part a tactical decision to weaken the government and cause a civil war, rather than a theological decision.”

Those silly Muslims didn’t really mean it and they are as amoral and Machiavellian as their sponsors, a rotating lazy Susan of usual suspects, including the Pentagon, CIA, ISI, MI6, and of course Mossad.

“The shells and rockets ripping apart Muslim bodies in Gaza and Lebanon are not only Israeli (weapons), but are supplied by all the countries of the crusader coalition. Therefore, every participant in the crime will pay the price.” In other words, the CIA-ISI spawned “al-Qaeda,” supposedly headed up by the dead Freddy Kruger Islamic nemesis Osama bin Laden, will attack the “crusader coalition” in the name of Hezbollah.

Of course, no demonization of a legitimate resistance movement would be complete without a cameo appearance by the Muslim Evil One himself. “Another new audio or video message from bin Laden was also expected in the coming days and was planned to deal with Gaza and Lebanon, according to IntelCenter. The U.S.-based independent group provides counterterrorism information to the U.S. government and media,” that is to say it serves as a propaganda outfit dispensing scary campfire stories, designed in part to stampede Americans into supporting the neocon Crusade and total “clash of civilizations” war, promised by our rulers to last a hundred or more years.

Back in 2003, the scurrilous neocon, Iran-Contra criminal, PNAC and CFR member, Richard Armitage, told CBS’ Sixty Minutes “Hezbollah may be the ‘A-Team of Terrorists’ and maybe al-Qaeda is actually the ‘B’ team. And they’re on the list and their time will come…. There is no question about it—it’s all in good time. And we’re going to go after these problems just like a high school wrestler goes after a match. We’re going to take them down one at a time.”

Here in America, a semi-somnolent and easily distracted public, consumers of endless official lies and dissimulation wrapped in fancy computer graphics and delivered by vacuous anchors, will likely buy into the effort to churn Hezbollah into an “al-Qaeda” variant, or if neocons such as Armitage have their way, an ominous terrorist group eclipsing “al-Qaeda.”

However, in Lebanon, this make-over is meaningless, as Hezbollah will continue to fight against the invading and marauding Israelis, regardless of Israeli and American propaganda.

Finally, Hezbollah’s Hasan Nasrallah told CBS’ Ed Bradley in 2003: “I believe the Americans are just saying what the Israelis want them to say. I consider this to be an Israeli accusation coming out of an American mouth and nothing more.”

Indeed, this is the case every time one flips on Fox News and its imitators.

The "Israeli" soldiers were not snatched, they were captured inside Lebanon. Even the so called media watchers can't get it straight.

Another thing, I do believe the illegal jewish state deliberately targeted the UN post knowing it would spark NO condemnation from the UN, which they would take as tacit approval for their actions.

Same o, same o.

Lebanon, another US 'Wesley Clark - 7 governments in 5 years' 'Domino' comes under attack again from US proxy cut-throats ISIS:

Lebanese army comes under fire from IS militants, ceasefire collapses:

Odd, isn't it, that the 'Islamic' ISIS attacks Arab States, and doesn't lift a finger against Israel, despite what Israel is doing to Palestinians. They are hardly badly armed or led; guess their Western and Israeli Commanders, and Saudi and Qatari Banksters, don't choose to order it!

The failure to attack Israel may not be a coincidence. According to Veterans Today, citing French sources, Al-Baghdadi, the erstwhile caliph of ISIS is actually one Simon Elliot, born of Jewish parents and a Mossad agent.

That would fit with earlier information from Jordan that ISIS was trained in Jordanian camps by the CIA.

Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, so-called ”Caliph,” the head of ISIL (Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant is, according to sources reputed to originate from Edward Snowden, an actor named Elliot Shimon, a Mossad trained operative.
http://www.veteranstoday.com/2014/08/04/french-report-isil-leader-moss ad/

Simon Elliot (Elliot Shimon) aka Al-Baghdadi was born of two Jewish parents and is a Mossad agent.
We offer below three translations that want to assert that the Caliph Al-Baghdadi is a full Mossad agent and that he was born Jewish father and mother:
The real name of Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi is “Simon Elliott.”
The so-called “Elliot” was recruited by the Israeli Mossad and was trained in espionage and psychological warfare against Arab and Islamic societies.
This information was attributed to Edward Snowden and published by newspapers and other Web sites: the head of the “Islamic State” Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, has cooperated with the U.S. Secret Service, British and Israel to create an organization capable of attracting terrorist extremists from around the world.
Source: Radio ajyal.com
Another source corroborates this statement, the site Egy-press:
With photo support, a Iranian media discovers the true identity of the Emir Daash, a trained Zionist agent.
Iranian intelligence discovered the true and full identity of the Emir Daash, which is known under the name Abu Bakr Al Baghdadi; his real name is Elliot Shimon. Its role in Mossad secret agent in the Zionist espionage. His false name: Ibrahim ibn Awad ibn Ibrahim Al Al Badri Arradoui Hoseini.
The plan: get into the military and civilian heart of the countries that are declared as a threat to Israel in order to destroy to facilitate thereafter, the takeover by the Zionist state on the entire area of the Middle East in order to establish Greater Israel.
Here are the borders of the Zionist project, the “Greater Israel” or “Eretz Israel” for short.
These facts confirm the first that came out a few days ago, confirming that the Caliph Rolex is sent to Israel to sow chaos in neighboring countries the Zionist entity. Please note that EIIL announced it a few days ago that, to want to now take the “barbarians Jews”, a reference to Zionists besiege Gaza.
Practice! Having devastated the area of Israel, it will now allow the Americans and the Israelis to show the fingers as bloody terrorists to shoot at faster to defend the Zionist state, while the same let them proliferate and act with impunity for over two months now. Prepare a project they probably from the famous Arab Spring with the destabilization of Iraq, Sudan, Tunisia, Egypt, Libya, Syria and Mali (among others). Clever!
Listen and listen again Bernard-Henri Lévy on these so-called Arab Spring:

YouTube - Veterans Today -
After gathering the most fanatical of the world in one place, a veritable army of the devil is formed, filled with bloodthirsty murderers without mercy for their victims, they murder with a vengeance and in cold blood, filming their atrocities and relaying on social networks.

How come Obomba hasn't ordered drone strikes against ISIS/ISIL or whatever the mercenary murderers call themselves, the 'Caliphate'?
The US supposedly supports the Iraqi 'Govt.' The Iraqi 'Govt.'obviously would openly welcome such Drone strikes (unlike the US oriented Military Regime in Pakistan, which whilst covertly agreeing, won't publicly acknowledge their acquiescence).
So, ?que pase? What gives?
Could it be that the al-Baghdadi (aka Simon Elliot) 'Caliphate' is dancing to the NWO Bankster War Criminal tune?
Perish the thought! Laughing

The Next War in Lebanon is an operational level wargame of a speculative Israeli invasion of Lebanon in the near future. The context is an Israeli invasion with the goal of eliminating the presence of Hezbollah terrorist group, and presumes a much larger invasion than the 2006 incursion (which is also included as a scenario). One player (the IDF) is assigned the role of the IDF (Israeli Defense Force) commander, and the other player is assigned the role of the Hezbollah forces, as well as Syrian and Iranian forces if certain events occur to cause their entry into the game (or players may agree to have these additional forces in the mix from the beginning of the game instead).
The game map features northern Israel and southern Lebanon, divided into 21 large hex territories, representing three categories of terrain: Urban (a major population center, such as the cities of Tyre, Sidon and Nabatiye), Populated (full of villages and small towns, and numerous roads), and Remote (rough terrain with few inhabitants or roads.) Stacking in any hex zone is unlimited, and units move and conduct operations within these hex zones to win the game.

'...The violence came hours after Prime Minister Tammam Salam hinted he might step down following violent protests on Saturday that injured more than 100 people.

The demonstrations, the largest in years to shake Lebanon, seek to upend what protesters see as a corrupt and dysfunctional political system that has no functional Cabinet or parliament, nor a president for more than a year.

Protest organisers said they pulled their supporters out of the area after men they described as political thugs began fighting with police, trying to tear down a barbed wire fence separating the crowds from the Lebanese government building....

I wonder who's paying these 'political thugs'?

The Iran-backed Shiite Muslim militant group Hezbollah, classified for many years by U.S. Intelligence as a terrorist organization, is training Christians to fight ISIS in Lebanon and the Middle Eastern believers say their new and unlikely allies "accept us as we are."

ISIS Trying to Eliminate Last Christian Speakers of Aramaic, Language That Jesus Spoke

Citing Lebanese sources, Joseph Farah's G2 Bulletin says Christian villages in the Bekaa Valley area of Lebanon are forming militias to join Hezbollah fighters already engaging ISIS and the al-Qaeda-affiliated Jabhat al-Nursa Front in the Syrian Qalamoun mountains opposite villages in central and eastern Bekaa.

Rifit Nasrallah, a Catholic businessman who is part of the militias fighting ISIS in Ras Baalbek, discussed the alliance with Hezbollah in an International Business Times report last month.

"We're in a very dangerous situation," he said. "The only people who are protecting us are the resistance of Hezbollah. The only one standing with the army is Hezbollah. Let's not hide it anymore."

Nasrallah said Hezbollah does not expect its allies to convert to Islam or create an allegiance to the group's ideals.

"They accept us as we are," he said. "They do not impose on us anything. When there's an occasion, they come to our children's birthdays. The people here accept that Hezbollah comes and helps."

This unlikely alliance between Christians and Hezbollah is a far cry from the adversarial relationship depicted between the two groups in the region.

According to the IB Times report, however, the alliance is one of convenience. Hezbollah is Iran's strongest proxy in that area of Lebanon and has been a key factor in keeping President Bashar Assad's regime in power after four years of the Syrian war. Protecting Ras Baalbek is a priority for the group because losing it to ISIS would put the surrounding Shiite towns under direct threat.

As a result, Hezbollah has invested heavily in sustaining the relationship with Christians. The group trained Christians in Syria to fight ISIS alongside them, according to a November report from Lebanese newspaper An-Nahar and even paid wages similar to Hezbollah members for Christians joining their ranks.

"We are not speaking of an assumed threat, we are speaking of a real aggression that exists every hour, every day, every night," said Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah in a recent speech. He explained that armed groups have launched continuous attacks inside Lebanese territories while also holding dozens of Lebanese soldiers and police officers hostage, "so we need a permanent solution."

Last fall, The Christian Post reported that GOP 2016 presidential candidate, Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, was booed after he offended some Middle Eastern Christians by declaring at an event in Washington, D.C. that "Christians have no greater ally than Israel."

Mark Tooley, president of the Institute of Religion and Democracy and an attendee at the evening event, later wrote in a blog entry that he was not surprised by the reaction.

"It's no secret that many Mideast Christians generally aren't big fans of Israel. I learned this firsthand during the 2006 Israel war on Hezbollah, when my discussion at church with a Lebanese Christian nearly escalated to a shouting match," wrote Tooley.

"Sometimes American Christians romanticize overseas persecuted Christians into disembodied noble souls unaffected by terrestrial concerns. But they, like everybody else, have histories, loyalties, resentments, grievances, and political calculations."

The Times of Israel reported in March that Iran and Hezbollah were removed from the list of terror threats against the U.S. as a result of its campaign against ISIS.

"We believe that this results from a combination of diplomatic interests (the United States' talks with Iran about a nuclear deal) with the idea that Iran could assist in the battle against the Islamic State in Syria and Iraq and maybe even in the battle against jihadist terrorism in other countries," the Meir Amit Intelligence and Terrorism Information Center said in an analysis of the unclassified version of the Worldwide Threat Assessment of the U.S. Intelligence Communities released in February.

Another American body, the Defense Intelligence Agency, however, said both Iran and Hezbollah were still terrorism threats.

"Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps-Qods Force (IRGC-QF) and Lebanese Hezbollah are instruments of Iran's foreign policy and its ability to project power in Iraq, Syria, and beyond," noted the body in their assessment, submitted to the U.S. Senate on Feb. 26.

"Hezbollah continues to support the Syrian regime, pro-regime militants and Iraqi Shiite militants in Syria. Hezbollah trainers and advisors in Iraq assist Iranian and Iraqi Shiite militias fighting Sunni extremists there. Select Iraqi Shiite militant groups also warned of their willingness to fight U.S. forces returning to Iraq," it noted.

Leave or avoid travelling Lebanon; Saudi, UAE & Bahrain ask their citizens

Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain have urged their citizens to leave Lebanon or avoid travelling there.

AhlulBayt News Agency - Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain have urged their citizens to leave Lebanon or avoid travelling there.

The move on Tuesday came after Riyadh halted $4bn in aid to Lebanese security forces.

The Saudi foreign ministry issued a statement calling on "all citizens not to travel to Lebanon, for their safety, and asking citizens residing in Lebanon or visiting not to stay unless extremely necessary".

The statement, run by the official SPA news agency, urged citizens to contact the Saudi Embassy in Beirut.

The UAE also banned its citizens from travelling to Lebanon and reduced its diplomatic presence in Beirut.

Bahrain also urged citizens against travelling to Lebanon, and called on Bahrainis there already to leave quickly, according to a statement posted to state news.

'Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, and Kuwait have now all issued warnings against travel to Lebanon and for those there to leave. The UAE also decreased the size of its diplomatic staff at its embassy in Beirut. Looks to me that it's part of Saudi Arabia's more aggressive foreign policy broadly aimed at countering Iranian influence in the region post-nuclear deal. It follows, for example, KSA's recent suspension of pretty substantial aid to Lebanese security apparatuses. Make Lowenotwar: Not really sure what connection to Israel you're seeing here.'

Lebanon: Israeli Pressure on Saudi Arabia to Contain Hezbollah
http://www.balkanspost.com/article/333/lebanon-israeli-pressure-saudi- arabia-hezbollah

Beirut - Saudi Arabia says Lebanon has declared war on Saudi Arabia. Usually, a declaration of war originates from the aggressor, not the other way around.

Having lost in Syria, the Saudi-Gulf-US coalition against Iran, has switched focus to Lebanon.

Lebanon is a small country of 3 million in the Eastern Mediterranean. The main religious sect is Shia Muslims. The * have a political party named Hezbollah, which was founded in the early 1980‘s, and they have a very powerful military wing. In fact, they are more powerful than the Lebanese Army.

The Israeli Army invaded and occupied the South of Lebanon from 1982 until May 24, 2000. During that period of a brutal military occupation more than 30,000 Lebanese civilians were killed, and 120,000 injured and disabled. Hezbollah was founded as a grass-roots resistance movement, with the goal of expelling the occupiers. They were successful, and brought about the liberation. The South of Lebanon was populated by both * and Christians. Lebanon’s largest Christian party, The Free Patriotic Movement, and the El Marada Movement, and the Armenian Revolutionary Federation are all Christian parties aligned with Hezbollah.

For the Shia, they see resistance to Israel as a religious duty, and the Christians see Hezbollah as their only defense against Radical terrorists.

Part of the Lebanese Sunnis, who are aligned with Saudi Arabia and USA, are against Hezbollah, and support the Israeli position against the group. However, there are many Lebanese Sunnis who support Hezbollah because they adhere to the resistance ideology.

The resistance ideology calls for the end to all Israeli occupation: in Palestine, in Lebanon and in Syria. Resistance to the Israeli occupation would end with a peace treaty between all parties. So far, this goal is just a dream.

Hezbollah is a political party, which runs in elections and has won Parliament seats, as well as a health and social services provider in Lebanon, and also a military force capable of keeping the South of Lebanon free from invasion. The only way Hezbollah could be expected to lay down their arms would be for the Israeli government to evacuate Shebaa Farms, a small area in South Lebanon, and to evacuate the Golan Heights in Syria, which the UN passed a resolution calling on Israel to leave, and to make a peace treaty with Palestine, under the UN and US approved and accepted “Two State Solution”, also known as “Land for Peace”.

However, there has been no movement on any of those goals, and so Hezbollah remains a formidable military group, which has been in Syria fighting alongside the Syrian Arab Army as they battle Radical terrorists, some of whom are directed, supported and financed by both US-NATO coalition, and their Saudi-Gulf partners.

On the one side in Syria you have the Syrian government forces, along with Russian, Iranian and Hezbollah forces, and the other side is Radical fighters by many different names, and most are supported by Qatar, Turkey, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. The Syrian conflict is a “Proxy War”, pitting Iran’s partners against America’s partners.

Saad Hariri was the Prime Minster of Lebanon, and represented the Sunni sect. He was a pragmatic leader and chose to deal with Hezbollah and the various other parties who held differing views. He and other leaders were aiming for national unity, instead of divisions which would not be productive.

Saad Hariri was Lebanese, but also held a Saudi citizenship, due to the fact he was born in Riyadh, and raised in the household of King Fahd, as his mother was married to the King . Hariri’s father had been Prime Minster of Lebanon before his death. On November 2, 2017 Saad Hariri met with the top adviser to Iran’s Supreme Leader, who later said the meeting was successful. The next day Hariri flew to Saudi Arabia, and the next day he announced his resignation there.

This was a serious breach in political protocol, and left the Lebanese President and Speaker of Parliament wondering what had happened, and why they were not informed personally and officially. They were watching his global televised resignation speech, which blamed Iran for basically everything wrong in the Middle East, and especially Lebanon.

It was obvious that the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia was sending a message through Hariri’s resignation to Hezbollah, and to their supporter Iran, that the Kingdom was holding Saad Hariri responsible for the failure to de-arm Hezbollah, and holding Iran to blame for the Saudi-US coalition loss in the Syrian battlefields. The young Prince was angry, bitter and didn’t take a loss well. Someone would have to pay the price.

During these events, the Crown Prince was also rounding up and arresting many of the fellow Princes, all his own relatives, and placing them in detention against their will. This was done under the guise of an ‘anti-corruption’ crackdown. The charges were corruption and money laundering. The US official comments praised the decision, and seemed to stem from the lavish Anti-Terrorism Summit held in Saudi Arabia for President Trump. Since that meeting, Saudi Arabia and UAE took aim at Qatar; blaming them for sponsoring and funding terrorism: that is the pot calling the kettle black.

The US-NATO-GULF side lost the gamble in Syria. Now, they have to begin Plan B: an attempt to cut off Hezbollah’s military might in Lebanon, which played a role in the victory in Syria. This is strategic goal of Israeli, who views Hezbollah as a threat.

Due to the loss of ISIS in Syria, there is now a clear land bridge from Tehran to Beirut, which could be used to ship weapons to Hezbollah. Israel routinely attacks Syria, citing weapons being transported to Hezbollah. It is the Israel-US-Saudi-Gulf pact which seeks to de-arm Hezbollah and prevent the Iranian supplies to reach them. In the bigger picture: the Israel-US-Saudi-Gulf pact seeks to weaken Iran in the Middle East.

The Russia-Iran-Syria pact is winning the war against terror on the battlefields. The risk is great for a US-Russia direct conflict in the new aggression against Hezbollah and Iran by Saudi Arabia. The question is: who is writing the game rules for this giant chess match played on the hot shifting sands?

Lebanon General Elections

Link

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ld7weXdYQ2Y

On The News Line
Published on 3 May 2018After nearly a decade of turbulent politics, Lebanese voters are preparing to cast their ballots in general elections scheduled for May the sixth. Over three-point-six million registered voters will be eligible to choose among 583 candidates vying for the parliament's 128 seats. Under Lebanon’s sect-based political system, the parliament's seats are equally divided among Muslims and Christians. Moreover, the president must be a Maronite Christian, the prime minister a Sunni Muslim and the parliamentary speaker a Shia Muslim. Since 2009, the Lebanese have witnessed their government collapse twice in 2011 and 2013 and the presidency sit vacant for more than two years.

******************************

The 2005 assassination of Lebanon’s late Prime Minister Rafik Hariri which some blamed on the Syrian government further complicated the country’s political balance. Lebanon’s political arena has since been divided into two main camps; The pro-Syrian, March 8 bloc led by the Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah and the anti-Syrian March 14 bloc backed by the West and Saudi Arabia. However, the upcoming elections will be held under a new electoral law passed in June 2017 which could end the polarization of the country’s politics. Under the new measure seventy-seven lists were formed by multiple parties in a tangled web of contradictory alliances that may disrupt the domination of the March 8 and 14 blocs.

********************************

The May six vote in Lebanon comes amid Hezbollah’s increasing popularity which has seen many Sunni groups back the movement. Hezbollah fighters played a key role in securing the country’s borders with Syria once seized by Israeli and Saudi backed militants. On the other hand, Prime Minister Sa’ad Hariri’s party will have a tough job building up support after last November’s drama in Riyadh where he announced his resignation. On his return to Lebanon in December, Hariri withdrew his resignation, denying Saudi Arabia’s role in his decisions. But the issue soured relations between Saudi Arabia and Sa’ad Hariri whose party is under dire financial straits over the collapse of Saudi Oger construction firm owned by the Hariri family. Riyadh has also revived a one-billion-dollar credit line to Beirut but there has been no sign of financial support for Hariri. Given the circumstances, Hariri’s Future Movement party is expected to lose seats to rivals including Hezbollah.

From Rev Andrew Ashdown

Today, the British Government declared Hzbollah a terrorist organisation. Hzbollah has played a major role in assisting the protection of Christian monasteries, villages and towns in Syria from jihadist groups. Meanwhile, the British government supports and backs Islamist jihadist groups that have ethnically cleansed Christian villages in parts of Syria, and that have destroyed the homes and places of worship of those (Christian or Muslim) who do not hold to their extremist ideology. I have witnessed both these facts personally. The British government either has no understanding of realities on the ground in the Middle East, or it is colluding in the spread of extremist ideology and the attempted destruction of the plural cultural and religious landscape of Syria and the region. I fear it is the latter.

Hezbollah: Born with a Vengeance
by Hala Jaber
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/491584.Hezbollah

Hezbollah lifts the shroud of secrecy covering the Shiite Muslim organization that has been synonymous with terror since it first made global headlines with the 1983 suicide bombing that killed 241 U.S. Marines in Beirut. For the first time, Hezbollah has allowed an outsider to talk to its fighters, leaders, and strategists, and to question them about the motives and operations behind some of the most destructive terrorist attacks in recent history. Does Hezbollah deserve its reputation? Can its role in the Beirut hostage crisis be justified? And what do former hostages John McCarthy, Terry Anderson, and Terry Waite now feel about their experience? Born in the grinding poverty of the Bekaa Valley, Hezbollah - or "Party of God" - has ties to Iran and exerts influence far beyond Lebanon. In many ways it is the model organization: passionate, demanding of its members, and devoted to furthering an Islamic way of life. Above all it is driven by the ultimate mandate: whatever it has done, and whatever it will do, is accomplished in the name of God. Hala Jaber explores the incredible devotion demonstrated by the members of Hezbollah: for example, the suicide bomber who went on to kill twelve Israeli soldiers in May 1995 speaks here, as does his wife, approvingly, of his martyrdom. We also hear the voices of the hostage takers, as well as their victims, speak confidentially here. Jaber clarifies the strategy of Hezbollah's weekly attacks on Israeli forces in Lebanon and documents its influence in the Palestinian-administered areas of Israel. She also sheds light on Hezbollah's shadowy sister organization in Teheran.

Hezbollah is Not a Threat to America
‘Trumped’ up charges to get at Iran won’t work
By SHARMINE NARWANI • November 3, 2017

Credit: Shutterstock/Gabirelle Pedrini. Hezbollah’s supporters at Liberation Day, Bint Jbeil, Lebanon, 25 May 2014.
Western-backed militants are in retreat, Bashar al-Assad remains president, Hezbollah has stretched its wings regionally, Israeli power is in decline, and Iran is on the rise. Not a pretty result for Washington’s multi-billion dollar investment in the Syrian conflict, especially if it was intended to change the map of the region to favor U.S. interests.

The Trump administration is therefore moving to hit its regional adversaries on alternative, non-military fronts—mainly, employing the sanctions tool that can cripple economies, besiege communities, and stir up public discontent.

The first step was to decertify the nuclear agreement struck between Iran and the five permanent members of the UN Security Council plus Germany (P5+1), which would open up a pathway to further U.S. sanctions against Iran.

The second step is to resuscitate the Hezbollah “threat” and isolate the organization using legal maneuvers and financial sanctions—what one pro-U.S. Lebanese Central Bank official calls “the new tools of imperialism.”

The U.S. listed Hezbollah as a “terrorist organization” 20 years ago this month. Most other states, as well as the United Nations Security Council, have not.

Two weeks ago, at a State Department briefing on the Hezbollah “threat,” National Counterterrorism Center Director Nicholas J. Rasmussen tried to paint a picture of an organization that was directing “terrorism acts worldwide” and posing a threat “to U.S. interests” including “here in the homeland.”

“Prior to September 11,” Rasmussen claimed, “I think everybody knows Hezbollah was responsible for the terrorism-related deaths of more U.S. citizens than any other foreign terrorist organization.”

This was news indeed.

A check with a State Department spokesperson confirmed that the “deaths of more U.S. citizens than any other foreign terrorist organization” claim was in reference to the following incidents:

“Hezbollah is responsible for multiple large scale terrorist attacks, including the 1983 suicide truck bombings of the U.S. Embassy and U.S. Marine barracks in Beirut; the 1984 attack on the U.S. Embassy annex in Beirut; and the 1985 hijacking of TWA flight 847, during which U.S. Navy diver Robert Stethem was murdered,” explained the spokesperson in an email.

The 1983 attack on the Beirut barracks took the lives of 241 Americans. The 1983 U.S. embassy bombing killed 17 Americans, and the 1984 attack on the relocated embassy facilities killed two Americans.

Hezbollah has officially and consistently denied involvement in these suicide bombings and was not even established as an organization until 1985. Some write off this important discrepancy by arguing that the bombings would have been conducted by one of Hezbollah’s “precursor organizations,” albeit without providing evidence to prove the point. The U.S. secretary of defense at the time of the bombings, Caspar Weinberger, told PBS almost two decades later, in 2001: “We still do not have the actual knowledge of who did the bombing of the Marine barracks at the Beirut Airport… and we certainly didn’t then.”

What was the U.S. reaction to the Beirut bombings in 1982? Did it retaliate against this phantom Hezbollah or its “precursor” organizations? No. In what was the heaviest shore bombardment by a U.S. naval vessel since the Korean war, the Americans retreating from Lebanon launched 300 missiles inland, killing hundreds of Druze and Shia non-combatants. In their book Best Laid Plans: The Inside Story of America’s War Against Terrorism, David C. Martin and John Walcott write about the incident:

In a nine-hour period, the U.S.S. New Jersey fired 288 16-inch rounds, each one weighing as much as a Volkswagen Beetle. In those nine-hours, the ship consumed 40 percent of the 16-inch ammunition available in the entire European theater…in one burst of wretched excess.

It wasn’t until 2003 that Hezbollah was officially fingered in the embassy bombing. In a 30-page decision that resulted from a lawsuit filed by the victims’ families, U.S. District Judge Royce C. Lamberth said Hezbollah carried out the attack at the behest of Iran and its Ministry of Information and Security. This was based in part on claims that an alleged Hezbollah bomber who said he was directed “to go forward with attacks” in Lebanon at that time. Critics have called this a “show trial,” comparing it to the 2016 U.S. trial that blamed Iran for the September 11 terrorist attacks, despite the fact that 15 Saudis (and no Iranians) were among the hijackers and the U.S. intelligence community has identified links between Saudi officials and some of the perpetrators.

Meanwhile, the Beirut barracks bombing targeted servicemen from the U.S. and France. This was in the context of Israel’s invasion and occupation of Lebanon in 1982. The Israeli military at the time had been heavily armed and outfitted by the United States. The victims were not non-combatants—they were military forces belonging to governments that were perceived by Lebanese as aiding the aggression against sovereign Lebanon.

Whatever the case and whomever the perpetrator, you don’t get to call such an action “terrorism.” It’s an irrational American narrative that time and time again confounds the Middle East: If the U.S. kills you, you are collateral damage. But if you shoot back, you are a terrorist.

Not Hezbollah

“It’s not really Hezbollah’s modus operandi,” mused former UK Ambassador Frances Guy about the massive car bomb that killed former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafiq Hariri along Beirut’s seafront. We were discussing likely perpetrators during my visit to Beirut in 2010, and Guy told me that the Lebanese resistance group doesn’t really “do” high-octane car bombings in public spaces.

Nonetheless, four Hezbollah operatives stand accused of assassinating Hariri by the Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL), a highly politicized UN investigative body that shifted its focus from one western political adversary to another, until finally settling on Hezbollah.

A revealing Wikileaks cable from 2008 shows the STL’s chief investigator begging the U.S. ambassador to Lebanon to provide the names of “leads” to pursue in Syria. “You are the key player,” he implores Ambassador Michele Sison, adding that the U.S. has “a big investment in the Tribunal.”

In a rare candid moment during an off-the-record meeting in 2011, another senior British official dropped this bombshell: “The [UN] Tribunal is useful for us to keep the Iranians in line. We don’t have too many tools left to do that.”

Shortly after my meeting with Ambassador Guy in 2010, she was raked over the coals for a blog she posted on the passing of Grand Ayatollah Mohammed Hussein Fadlallah—a Lebanese Shia cleric the U.S. has consistently, and incorrectly, called “Hezbollah’s spiritual leader.” She wrote:

When you visited him you could be sure of a real debate, a respectful argument and you knew you would leave his presence feeling a better person…The world needs more men like him willing to reach out across faiths, acknowledging the reality of the modern world and daring to confront old constraints. May he rest in peace.

Israelis were incensed by Guy’s admiration for the Hezbollah-supporting cleric, and her blog post was scrubbed. But the UK nevertheless sent an official to pay condolences at Fadlallah’s Hassanein mosque, followed by a procession of ambassadors from France, Belgium, Poland, and Denmark. The French and Spanish ambassadors and the UN secretary general sent condolences to Hezbollah too.

Foreign Policy magazine published a piece upon Fadlallah’s death, subtitled: “How the United States got Lebanon’s leading Shiite cleric dead wrong—and missed a chance to change the Middle East forever.” That cryptic sentence refers, of course, to the monumentally misguided off-the-books assassination attempt against Ayatollah Fadlallah organized by CIA Director William Casey in the aftermath of the barracks and embassy bombings—despite the fact that the U.S., per Weinberger’s claims, had no clue who did it.

According to an interview Casey gave to the Washington Post’s Bob Woodward, the CIA chief arranged for Saudi funding for the covert operation using Lebanese militias to do the dirty work. Fadlallah escaped death, but 80 others died in the southern Beirut suburb that day, including the brother of a young Imad Mughniyeh, who went on to become a leader of Hezbollah’s security operations.

He had been only nine years old in July 1972, when the Israelis set off Beirut’s first car bomb near the southern suburb where he lived, killing Palestinian poet Ghassan Kanafani and others.

Mughniyeh, you may recall, was himself killed in a car bomb in Damascus in February 2008. In the immediate aftermath of that assassination, U.S. Director of National Intelligence Mike McConnell seemed to misdirect reporters: “There’s some evidence that it may have been internal Hezbollah. It may have been Syria. We don’t know yet, and we’re trying to sort that out.”

No, it wasn’t Hezbollah and it wasn’t Syria. Seven years later, a series of orchestrated leaks to Newsweek and the Washington Post revealed that the Mughniyeh car bombing came courtesy of a joint operation by the CIA and Mossad.

No Threat to Americans

“Hezbollah is not plotting against us,” former U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry told a small group of anti-government Syrians on the sidelines of the UN’s General Assembly plenary session a year ago.

Kerry’s comments were caught on an audio tape acquired by the New York Times. Asked why the U.S. fights extremist Sunni groups and not Shia ones, he replied:

The reason for [airstrikes against the Sunni Extremists] is because they have basically declared war on us, and are plotting against us, and Hezbollah is not plotting against us— Hezbollah is exclusively focused on Israel, who they’re not attacking now, and on Syria, where they are attacking in support of Assad.

Now, a mere year later, Rasmussen wants us to believe: “We in the Intelligence Community do, in fact, see continued activity on behalf of Hezbollah here inside the homeland.”

So which is it? Is Hezbollah targeting Americans or not? The evidence of this is extremely slim and is peppered with more use of qualifying terms—-“allegedly,” “reportedly,” “assessments,” “linkages”—than any objective journalist can comfortably swallow. So too are U.S. reports of Hezbollah’s “international terrorist activities.”

American investigative reporter Gareth Porter has done deep dives on various allegations of Hezbollah-linked “terrorism” in Argentina, Bulgaria, Washington, DC, India, Saudi Arabia and other places. The State Department lists many of these incidents as evidence of the “global threat” Hezbollah poses, but always, upon further scrutiny, the accusations ring hollow.

If there was compelling evidence of the Lebanese resistance group’s involvement in all these attacks, then why have so few nations clamored onto the Hezbollah-is-a-terrorist-organization bandwagon? Until the conflict in Syria kicked off, it was restricted to a smattering of western states and Israel. But relentless U.S. pressure, and the seismic battle currently underway in the Middle East between pro-U.S. states and pro-Iran states vying for hegemony, have produced a few recent additions.

In early 2016, the six-member Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) designated Hezbollah a terrorist group, followed a few days later by the 21-member Arab League, with Lebanon and Iraq voting against the measure.

Both organizations are heavily dominated by the immensely wealthy and sectarian (read: anti-Shia) Saudis, financial patrons to many Sunni leaders in the region, and a country entrenched in existential proxy battles in Syria, Yemen, Iraq, and Bahrain (against Hezbollah ally and U.S. foe, Iran).

What stands out, instead, is the European Union’s fuzzy position on Hezbollah. Despite U.S. insistence that the group in its entirely is a terrorist organization, the EU lists only Hezbollah’s “military wing” as such—and that designation was made only in 2013, when the Syrian conflict exploded and nations started taking hard sides in the Middle East. The “military wing” caveat is a critical distinction that reveals there are more layers to this onion than we see in State Department sound bites.

For Lebanon, Hezbollah is more than just the first Arab force to militarily expel the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) from its territory permanently. In Lebanon, Hezbollah is a political party too, with members of parliament and seats in the cabinet. The group runs a remarkable array of social services across the country, from subsidized schools, hospitals and clinics, to agricultural centers and environmental programs.

Obama’s Deputy National Security Advisor for Homeland Security and Counterterrorism John Brennan introduced a more nuanced image of the group to a Washington think tank audience in 2009:

Hezbollah started out as purely a terrorist organization in the early ’80s and has evolved significantly over time. And now it has members of parliament, in the cabinet; there are lawyers, doctors, others who are part of the Hezbollah organization … And so, quite frankly, I’m pleased to see that a lot of Hezbollah individuals are in fact renouncing that type of terrorism and violence and are trying to participate in the political process in a very legitimate fashion.

Furthermore, Hezbollah’s appeal is not limited to Lebanon’s Shia community. Since 2006, Hezbollah has been in a political alliance with the country’s largest Christian-based political party, the Free Patriotic Movement (FPM), whose leader, General Michel Aoun, is currently president of Lebanon.

Aoun’s close association with Hezbollah is an irritant to Washington, and so the Trump administration is pushing to tighten the sanctions noose on Lebanon, too. In September, the U.S. House of Representatives voted to strengthen the 2015 Hezbollah International Financing Prevention Act. Congressmen claim the new measures won’t harm regular Lebanese civilians, but there is a dangerous trend underway to punish anyone who supports Hezbollah’s civic, social, and religious initiatives.

This concern by the Lebanese is fully justified if you listen to State Department Coordinator for Counterterrorism Nathan A. Sales, who insists:

Money given to a terrorist organization, even for purportedly non-terroristic purposes, ends up assisting the group’s terroristic activities. If you give money to the so-called peaceful side of an organization, money is fungible. And so that frees up resources that can then be used for malign activities that have nothing to do with charitable work or other purposes that we might regard as legitimate. And so it’s important for us to maintain that distinction as false. The distinction between political and terroristic is false.

The Lebanese resistance was formed in reaction to Israel’s illegal invasion and occupation of Lebanon. As Kerry says, that’s where Hezbollah’s real fight is—with Israel.

Washington should leave it to the two to duke it out. This is not America’s fight. Hezbollah has saved Lebanon—and much of the Levant—not once, but twice, from bloody aggressions. In fact, maybe I’ll take them out to lunch in Beirut and pay the bill. I daresay that could be regarded as a financial contribution to Hezbollah, and that would make me a “terrorist,” too.

A draft order was laid in Parliament on 25 February to proscribe Hezbollah in its entirety – rather than just its military wing – as a terrorist organisation, which will bring the UK into line with the US, Canada, Israel and the Arab League. The order will make it a criminal offence to be a member, or invite support for Hezbollah, and will carry a sentence of up to 10 years’ imprisonment.

This BICOM briefing describes the history of Hezbollah, its ongoing involvement in the Syrian civil war fighting for the regime of President Bashar Assad, its regional policies, and its terrorist and criminal activities in Europe and the UK. It also analyses the practical significance of the whole organisation being proscribed as a terrorist group.

Inter religious racist war, sparked on the ground, an essential home front precursor to serious shooting war between Israel and Lebanon/Iran predicted by Moscow for this summer

Praising Hezbollah, Russian envoy claims US could spark new Israel-Lebanon war

Moscow’s ambassador in Beirut says US stance toward Iran is destabilizing region, hails terror group for fighting alongside Russia in Syria

By TOI STAFF 9 Feb 2019

Russia’s ambassador in Beirut said US policies toward Iran could set off a fresh war between Israel and Lebanon, while championing the country’s Iranian-backed Hezbollah terror group.

Though he said renewed fighting between the sides remained uncertain, Alexander Zasypkin accused the United States of inciting “new conflicts” that he said could draw in countries and actors throughout the Middle East.

“As for a conflict between Israel and Lebanon, nothing can be predicted with certainty because the region is at a crossroads. Peoples are demanding the settlement of existing crises, the return to a peaceful life, the development of cooperation,” Zasypkin told the state-owned Sputnik news agency in an interview published Saturday.

“A negative alternative to this is the incitement of new conflicts by the Americans, which could involve many countries as well as ethnic and religious forces,” he added.

Zaspykin also claimed the US stance toward Iran and Hezbollah was further destabilizing the region.

The US has long accused Iran of sowing instability in the Middle East through its support of terrorist and militia groups, as well as its support for Syrian President Bashar Assad’s regime in the Syrian civil war.

The Syrian government has also received extensive military backing from Russia and Hezbollah.

“When events started unfolding in Syria, Hezbollah sided with its lawful authorities, seeing the fight against terrorists in the region as its duty,” said Zaspykin, echoing a claim from the Assad regime that all its opponents are terrorists.

“The party took a responsible approach to what was happening in Syria and the region as a whole and contributed significantly to terrorists’ defeat,” he added.

Zaspykin’s comments come a week after Lebanon announced the formation of a new government following a nine-month deadlock.

Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri addresses the media after announcing the new cabinet during a press conference at the presidential palace in Baabda, east of the capital Beirut, on January 31, 2019. (Anwar Amro/AFP)

The new government is headed by Prime Minister Saad Hariri, the Western-backed Sunni politician who has held the job since 2016. But Hezbollah, the powerful Iran-backed Shiite group, made significant gains at the expense of the largest Sunni party and now controls three government ministries.

The Trump administration expressed concerns about Hezbollah holding three Cabinet posts and called on the new government to ensure that group is not supported by the ministries’ resources, while the United Nations said Friday that all Lebanese factions should stay out of foreign conflicts in a message clearly aimed at Hezbollah.

Zaspykin brushed aside concerns about Hezbollah’s inclusion in the new government and said the terror group’s leader was acting as a force of restraint.

“After the formation of a new government, the party’s secretary general, Hassan Nasrallah, notably urged political forces to refrain from fighting among themselves and to take on massive challenges the country faces,” he told Sputnik.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said Hezbollah’s role in the new government showed Iran was in control of Lebanon, leading Nasrallah to accuse the premier of “inciting” Western powers against Lebanon.

Days later, Nasrallah gave a speech extolling Iran and said he is willing to ask it to supply the Lebanese military with weapons and aerial defense systems to confront Israeli warplanes, while calling on Beirut to accept the offer.

He also vowed that his organization would defend Iran in the event of war, saying the Islamic Republic would not be alone in a confrontation with America.

Tensions between Israel and Lebanon have been heightened in recent months after the Israeli military launched an operation to locate and destroy cross-border attack tunnels reaching into the country that it says were dug by Hezbollah.

The Israel Defense Forces has said the tunnels were to be used by Hezbollah to smuggle fighters into Israel as part of an opening salvo in a future war.

Nasrallah later dismissed the effectiveness of the Israeli operation, which it wrapped up in January, and said the terror group’s plan to invade northern Israel remained intact.

Agencies contributed to this report.

Easter multifaith message from Lebanon

Sayyed Nasrallah: ‘Israel’ Can No Longer Wage Any War on Lebanon, Neither Air Force Nor Infantry Can Settle Battle
http://english.almanar.com.lb/722350
16 hours ago April 22, 2019

Lebanon - Live News - News - S. Nasrallah Speeches - Top

Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah on Monday condemned the series of blasts which stormed Sri Lanka, stressing that culprits lack innate humane nature and calling for a comprehensive confrontation with terrorism and its supporters.

In his speech during Hezbollah ceremony, marking Imam Mahdi (P) Birthday and the 34th anniversary of establishing Imam Mahdi Scouts, Sayyed Nasrallah congratulated the Muslims and Christians on the holidays, stressing the importance of preserving those holidays despite the terrorist attacks which are moving from one country to another, including Yemen and occupied Palestine.

His eminence clarified that the followers of all the heavenly religions agree on the concept of the emergence of a savior, despite the differences over his identity, adding that this concept gives people hope to confront oppression.

“However, despair leads to surrender and loss.”

Sayyed Nasrallah pointed out that if the Palestinians did not remain hopeful, Trump would impose the ‘Deal of the Century’ on them, adding that hope and trust in God have enabled them to challenge all the world’s tyrants.

Lebanon had a clear experience in the resistance field, according to Sayyed Nasrallah who pointed out that when Hezbollah started its military operations against the Israeli occupation army, some Lebanese doubted and questioned the feasibility of this track.

“Had the Lebanese given up hope in Holy God surrendered in face of the Zionist enemy, Trump would have offered Lebanon to the Israeli entity.”

Hezbollah Leader hailed the Imam Al-Mahdi Scouts Association for its augmenting efforts in the various educational and social domains despite the hard circumstances, calling on parents and municipalities to encourage the children to join scouts, in general, and Al-Madi Scouts, in particular.

Lebanon’s economic crisis

Sayyed Nasrallah said all the Lebanese political parties have agreed that the country is suffering from a deep economic crisis and that a consensual solution must be reached.

“All the parties must hold a national responsibility and approve the needed austerity measures, away from the personal, regional and sectarian interests. All suggestions must be mulled carefully before taking the necessary decisions.”

Sayyed Nasrallah stressed that Hezbollah would join all the other parties in holding the national responsibility of taking the necessary measures needed to cope with the economic crisis, revealing that the party’s specialized committees (formed of ministers, parliament members and experts) have mulled the possible solutions which require patience and sagacity.

“Hezbollah is ready its draft solutions in the cabinet sessions, not via the media outlets. However, we reiterate our rejection of tampering with the incomes of the poor.”

Israeli war on Lebanon

Sayyed Nasrallah denied categorically the report published by one of the Kuwaiti newspapers which attributed to his eminence statements about an imminent war expected to be launched by the Israeli enemy on Lebanon next summer.

“I have never said that neither in a public meeting, nor in a closed session.”

His eminence also denied that he had said that during the upcoming war the Resistance leadership and senior commanders would be killed, stressing that death depends on the divine will and hoping that he himself will participate in liberating occupied Palestine and pray at Al-Aqsa Mosque.

“Although the Resistance always prepares for the worst possibilities, I personally tend to rule out the possibility of witnessing an Israeli war on Lebanon because the enemy’s ‘home’ front is not ready for that.”

Sayyed Nasrallah also stressed that all the Israeli claims about their ability to intercept missiles are false, adding all their measures will fail to achieve that purpose.

Neither the air force nor the ground forces can settle the battle in favor of the Israeli enemy, according to Sayyed Nasrallah who added that the Zionists themselves acknowledge that their infantry troops are unable to wage any war.

Sayyed Nasrallah underlined that the Zionist enemy is deceptive by nature, adding this imposes on the Resistance to be ready to confront any Israeli military escalation.

His eminence also said that some think that the financial pressure on Hezbollah would lead the party to surrender and that there is no need for any Israeli war on the Resistance

Sayyed Nasrallah warned against the negative economic consequences of such rumors on Lebanon ahead of the summer season, calling on the media outlets to check their veracity before circulating them.

Sayyed Nasrallah noted that a lot of media outlets are involved in circulating false news reports, citing two examples:

“Al-Arabiya news network circulated false rumors about clashes between Iranian and Russian troops in Syria’s Aleppo and Deir Ezzor. Actually cooperation among the allies in Syria is still ongoing.”

“News websites falsely quoted the Israeli ‘justice’ minister as saying that ‘Israel’ would eradicate all the Arabs in northern Africa.”

Saudi & Emirates Shameful Role in Region

Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah on Monday highlighted the shameful role of Saudi and Emirates in the Middle East, stressing that they both have contributed to the terrorist instability and chaos in the region.

The thought of the terrorist groups has been based on the Saudi Wahhabism, according to Sayyed Nasrallah who added that KSA will price of supporting and fostering those groups, citing ISIL attack on a police station in northern Riyadh on Sunday (April 21).

In his speech during Hezbollah ceremony, marking Imam Mahdi (P) Birthday and the 34th anniversary of establishing Imam Mahdi Scouts, Sayyed Nasrallah stressed that the terrorist groups which stormed many of the regional countries have been backed and reinforced by Saudi and Emirates, highlighting their brutal war on Yemen.

Sayyed Nasrallah added that after the US president Donald Trump decided to end the waivers on Iran oil imports, Saudi and Emirates pledged to increase their oil production in order to maintain the international prices, describing this move as shameful.

Hezbollah Secretary General considered that the US act against Iran endangers the world’s countries and violates all the international laws and treaties, calling for confronting this hostile trend.

Sayyed Nasrallah finally noted that “we belong to a folk who has always defeated the occupiers and usurpers,” reiterating that “we will emerge victorious from all the upcoming challenges, depending on our power, sagacity and hope in God”.
