March 2011 A British deputy chief constable, who was under investigation for making lewd remarks at female colleagues, is said to have committed suicide at his home in Wiltshire.

David Ainsworth had knowledge of and was concerned about the Porton Down cover-up involving 109 missing RAF servicemen who had attended Porton Down.

His brother has voiced concerns over the manner of his death and subsequent Police investigation.

Linkage to Dr David Kelly...

Background from the BBC...

Quote:
1999 Wiltshire Police begin a four-year investigation into the human experiments at Porton Down following a complaint from veteran Gordon Bell, who was there nearly 50 years earlier.

2001 Government agrees to fund a health study for some Porton Down volunteers and announces a comprehensive survey of the Porton Down Volunteer Programme to investigate how volunteers were treated and what they were told. It promises to publish the findings.

2002 Ministry of Defence (MoD) helpline set up to enable Porton Down veterans to find out more about the trials they were involved in.

Lord Chief Justice, Lord Woolf, quashes 1953 inquest verdict and orders a fresh query.

2003 Crown Prosecution Service decides to take no action following police investigation into the Porton Down trials.

2004 Fresh inquest into the 1953 death of Ronald Maddison returns a verdict of unlawful killing. The MoD launches a legal challenge.

2006 High Court rules in favour of Mr Maddison's family. As part of the settlement, the MoD admits "gross negligence".

17 January 2008 The BBC learns of a £3m out-of-court settlement between the MoD and veterans, under which the ex-servicemen will each receive £8,300 and an apology.

31 January 2008 The Ministry of Defence confirms it is to award £3m in compensation to 360 veterans of the tests without admission of liability. Defence minister Derek Twigg says the government "sincerely apologises to those who may have been affected".

A British deputy chief constable, who was under investigation for making lewd remarks at female colleagues, is said to have committed suicide at his home in Wiltshire.

Deputy Chief Constable David Ainsworth’s body was discovered by his girlfriend in the garage of his home Tuesday morning.

Reports say he hanged himself.

Forty-nine year old Ainsworth was removed from normal duties in September 2010, after 24 colleagues, mostly women, filed complaints against him.

He was accused of making bawdy remarks at female staff at Wiltshire, where he worked since 2008 and Kent, where he worked for 22 years.

The divorced father-of-four was temporarily working in the Forensic Science Service in Birmingham pending the outcome of the investigation.

David Ainsworth had knowledge of and was concerned about the Porton Down cover-up involving 109 missing RAF servicemen who had attended Porton Down. Brian Moore has consistently ignored repeated requests to have the missing servicemen traced. My findings show deep seated corruption took place during the five years that Wiltshire Police were -supposedly – investigating Porton Down. IPCC informed. Recent evidence has surfaced showing the law firm Leigh Day & Co who “negotiated” a “one off” payment on behalf of 645 Porton Down veterans and family members of the deceased received 3.78 million pounds in “hush money” for keeping secret the deaths of servicemen who had attended Porton Down. Some of this “hush money was ferried to the coffers of Thompson Snell & Passmore (Kent) who also had inside knowledge of deaths having occurred. I invite Wiltshire Police to explain why they are not replying to my request to have the missing airmen traced. And Why they have chosen to keep members of the W.P.A.ignorant of the facts. Mr Ainsworth’s death should not be dismissed as a suicide – as in the case of Dr David Kelly – with out investigating all of the facts that he undoubtedly had full knowledge of – all of which were related to the Porton Down cover-up. C.Con. Brian Moore has much to answer for. For complete details I can be contacted at (missing detail)

Davis Ainsworth’s brother Andrew contacted me voicing his concerns as to the manner of Davids death. Glostershire police were to conduct a full inquiry into the impossible situation he – David – found himself in after taking over from Dep Chief Constable Stephen Long in 2008. It was Stephen Long who headed the so called investigation into wrong doing at Porton Down where there remain 109 RAF and their records that are missing. Stephen Long is patently corrupt as are some of his senior officers including Det Supt Gerald Luckett the lead officer who among other things fabricated evidence to explain some of the vile human experiments that were carried ut at Porton Down. The toxic files that David Ainsworth inherited from Stephen Long and G Luckett proved too much for David to handle and there is little doubt that he wanted the missing airmen found. This – and a multitude of other information all of which was relating to the Porton Down cover-up led to his demise at the hands of those who murdered Dr David Kelly. Gloustershire Police Police have never contacted me as Andrew Ainsworth said they would. It was in Sept 1997 and Oct 2000 that I became aware of being targeted.

Strong indication of how utterly dire our national media has become.
And how the Chief Constables and civilian Directors Of Communiactions in our police forces nor the MoD now feel no duty to press or public who pay their wages whatever.
He died 11 days ago and there is no mention of it anywhere in the UK press except The Mail On Sunday today.
Shocking.
Shocking.
The control of perception is horrifying.
And his widow Susan Holmes is Porton Down's head of business administration, what 'business' is going on at the UK chemical and biological weapons research facility?

By Nick Constable and Ian Gallagher - 21 April 2012
A weapons expert who worked with Dr David Kelly at the Government’s secret chemical warfare laboratory has been found dead in an apparent suicide.

The cause of Richard Holmes's death is still unknown.

In circumstances strongly reminiscent of Dr Kelly’s own mysterious death nine years ago, the body of Dr Richard Holmes was discovered in a field four miles from the Porton Down defence establishment in Wiltshire. It is not yet known how he died.
Mr Holmes, 48, had gone missing two days earlier after telling his wife he was going out for a walk – just as Dr Kelly did before he was found dead at an Oxfordshire beauty spot in July 2003.
Police said there were no suspicious circumstances in the latest case but revealed that Dr Holmes had ‘recently been under a great deal of stress’.
He resigned from Porton Down last month, although the centre yesterday refused to explain why.
Inevitably, the parallels between the two cases will arouse the suspicions of conspiracy theorists.
Despite Lord Hutton’s ruling eight years ago that Dr Kelly committed suicide, many people – among them a group of doctors – believe his inquiry was insufficient and have demanded a full inquest.
Some believe Dr Kelly, who kept an office at Porton Down right up until his death, was murdered. He was outed as being the source of a BBC report that Downing Street ‘sexed up’ evidence of Iraq’s weapons of mass destruction to justify going to war.
Although it is not clear if the two scientists were close, one source told The Mail on Sunday that they were friendly when they worked at Porton Down in the Nineties.
At the time, Dr Holmes ran a project organising the installation of chemical protection equipment in RAF Sentinel spy planes, while Dr Kelly was head of microbiology and frequently toured the former Soviet Union as a weapons inspector.
After the first Gulf War, Dr Holmes is also thought to have worked on the production of chemical protection suits for troops. In 1991 he was the joint author of a scientific paper about an RAF chemical and biological protection system.
Yesterday, a Porton Down spokesman confirmed Dr Holmes had quit his job but declined to comment further. ‘It is not our policy to speak openly about any individual who works for us,’ she said.
Before finding his body, Wiltshire Police made a public appeal for information but warned people not to approach Dr Holmes for their own safety because they believed he had been ‘looking at information on the internet regarding self-harm and the use of toxic substances’.
Friends of Dr Holmes say this disclosure irritated his family, who questioned why a scientist engaged in chemical warfare research would ‘need to Google toxic substances’.
Dr Holmes’s widow, Susan, is a chemist who also works at Porton Down as head of business administration.
One of the Government’s most sensitive and secretive military facilities, the site has long been the focus of controversy.
Three years ago hundreds of ex-servicemen who were used as chemical warfare guinea pigs there between 1939 and 1989 were given compensation and an apology from the Ministry of Defence.
They were tested with the nerve agent sarin, but some of those involved claimed they had been told they were taking part in cold-remedy trials.
Many suffered serious illnesses after exposure to the gas, which was developed by the Nazis during the Second World War.
An inquest into Dr Holmes’s death was opened and adjourned by Wiltshire Coroner David Ridley last week. Coroner’s officer Paul Tranter said Dr Holmes’s family had grown concerned for his wellbeing after he failed to return from a walk on April 11.
A search party involving police and members of the other emergency services began combing waste ground close to his home in the Bishopsdown area of Salisbury.
Police discovered his body half a mile away in a field used regularly by dog-walkers and joggers in the village of Laverstock.
Mr Tranter said the results of tests carried out to establish the cause of death would not be known for several weeks.
He added: ‘Police do not consider this death to be suspicious in any way, nor do they believe there was any third-party involvement.’

also seen this phrase rolled out almost immediately following dead bodies being found

Quote:
"police are not looking for anyone else in connection with this incident"

Porton Down Scientist Found Dead
Posted on April 22, 2012

Porton Down Testing

What is it about scientists working at Porton Down that make them want to commit suicide?

Just recently, the body of Dr Richard Holmes, 48, was found in a field only 4 miles away, and in very similar circumstances to the now infamous “suicide” of UK weapons inspector to Iraq, Dr David Kelly back in 2003. Holmes too, was a weapons scientist working at the government’s secret chemical warfare laboratory, until he resigned a few weeks ago.

Porton Down in Wiltshire, England, is situated on some 7,000 acres and is home to the UK’s CBRN (chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear) defence establishment. Porton Down has always been a highly secretive facility, with much of the work that goes on there protected from oversight. Controversy continually surrounds Porton Down ; Monkeys and other animals were routinely tested, but more alarmingly, it emerged some three years ago that hundreds of ex-servicemen were used as chemical warfare guinea pigs there between 1939 and 1989. A group of 369 servicemen affected launched legal action against the MoD last March, arguing that tests – including being sent to gas chambers and being exposed to nerve gas, mustard gas and teargas – had left them with health problems ranging from respiratory and skin diseases to cancer and psychological problems. They were later given a paltry £8,000 compensation and an apology from the Ministry of Defence.∗

Monkeys being used In weapons testing at Porton Down

According to local police there were no unusual circumstances surrounding the death of Mr Holmes but they did say that he had ‘recently been under a great deal of stress’. Similarly, this was also one of the reasons fed to the public for Dr David Kelly’s apparent suicide in 2003.

Dr Holmes, like Dr Kelly, also told his wife that he was ‘going out for a walk’ before later being found dead. Holmes had recently resigned from his job at the facility and was said to be under some considerable stress. Dr Kelly was found dead only days after appearing in front of a parliamentary hearing. Kelly was outed as the source of a leak which exposed the then Blair government as having “sexed up” a dossier on Iraq’s weapons of mass destruction which ultimately led to the invasion of Irag. The dossier claimed that Iraq had chemical and biological weapons and that it had even reconstituted it’s nuclear weapons programme. No “weapons of mass destruction” were ever found and Iraq’s capability to deliver the non existent weapons was also outrageously overstated. All of the allegations contained within the dossier have since been proven completely false.

The site where Dr David Kelly's body was found.

Daily Mail Headline In 2010

The Hutton Inquiry reached the conclusion that Dr Kelly had taken his own life by slitting his left wrist and overdosing on Coproxamol tablets despite much of the crime scene evidence to the contrary. In his 2007 book The Strange Death of David Kelly, Norman Baker MP argued that Kelly was almost certainly murdered. He described the police investigation and Hutton Inquiry as a ‘farce’, which failed to investigate numerous discrepancies and anomalies in the physical, medical and witness evidence. On publication of the report of the Hutton enquiry, many UK newspapers accused the government of a “whitewash”. Not surprisingly, Lord Hutton (appointed by the then Labour government), unsurprisingly cleared the government of any wrongdoing.

Dr Kelly before he was "suicided".

A British ambassador called David Broucher reported a conversation with Dr Kelly at a Geneva meeting in February 2003. Broucher related that Kelly said he had assured his Iraqi sources that there would be no war if they co-operated, and that a war would put him in an ‘ambiguous’ moral position.

Broucher had asked Kelly what would happen if Iraq were invaded, and Kelly had replied, ‘I will probably be found dead in the woods.‘
