Spotlight on Kevin Barrett of MUJCA-NET, the co-organizers of the recent 9/11 truth conference in Chicago: the Muslim-Jewish-Christian Alliance for 9-11 Truth. Kevin is a scholar, writer and activist from the University of Wisconsin and he arranged the David Ray Griffin presentation that many of us saw on C-SPAN in April 2005.

1) GWOT is a Joke

Pity the poor fearmeisters. Nobody's buying the Global War on Terror any more--not the Canadians, not the British, not Nick Berg's dad, not even the FBI.

Last January I publishedan op-ed in the Capital Timespointing out that the Fatty Bin Laden "confession video" is a joke, and that America's top Bin Laden expert thinks OBL is dead and we're being fed fake videos. Guess what? The FBI agrees! They've made it official: There is no evidence connecting Osama Bin Laden with 9/11. NONE.

Did you see the screaming front page New York Times headline, "FBI: Osama Innocent of 9/11" ? Me either.

FBI: Bin Laden Not Wanted for 9/11?

The FBI's "Most Wanted Terrorists" web page does not state that Bin Laden is wanted for the September 11, 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon.

The FBI page states: "Usama Bin Laden is wanted in connection with the August 7, 1998, bombings of the United States Embassies in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, and Nairobi, Kenya. These attacks killed over 200 people. In addition, Bin Laden is a suspect in other terrorist attacks throughout the world."

When asked why there is no mention of 9/11 on the FBI's web page, Rex Tomb of the FBI's public affairs unit is reported to have said, "The reason why 9/11 is not mentioned on Usama Bin Laden's Most Wanted page is because the FBI has no hard evidence connecting Bin Laden to 9/11."

In the months leading up to the Septmber 11, 2001 attack, it is reported, the Taliban "outlined various ways bin Laden could be dealt with. He could be turned over to the EU, killed by the Taliban, or made available as a target for Cruise missiles."

According to the Guardian: "On September 20 2001, the Taliban offered to hand Osama bin Laden to a neutral Islamic country for trial if the US presented them with evidence that he was responsible for the attacks on New York and Washington. The US rejected the offer."

On September 23, 2001 the BBC reported that four of the hijack "suspects" - Waleed Al Shehri, Abdulaziz Al Omari, Saeed Alghamdi, and possibly Khalid Al Midhar - were alive, and that FBI Director Robert Mueller acknowledged "the identity of several of the suicide hijackers is in doubt."

Bin Laden, in a September 28, 2001 interview with the Pakistani newspaper Ummat, is reported to have said: "I am not involved in the 11 September attacks in the United States."

FBI Director Robert Mueller, in a speech at the Commonwealth Club on April 19, 2002, said: "In our investigation, we have not uncovered a single piece of paper - either here in the United States, or in the treasure trove of information that has turned up in Afghanistan and elsewhere - that mentioned any aspect of the September 11 plot."

The evidence against Bin Laden, promised by Secretary of State Colin Powell in September 2001, has yet to be made available to the public.

3) Toronto Star: 'Perhaps Toronto 17 Not Terrorists At All'

The Toronto Star postulates that the 17 alleged terrorists accused of plotting to bomb city landmarks may not be terrorists at all.

In an op-ed, Thomas Walkom chronicles the history of Canadian terror arrests and how in every case the supposed evidence against the accused has always evaporated.

The piece also highlights the alarming absence of bullet proof evidence to suggest the Toronto suspects were plotting anything at all.

MICHAEL BERG: I don't know, and I say that because I have been lied to so many times by the F.B.I., the State Department, and by George Bush -- we've all been lied to by George Bush -- that I neither believe nor disbelieve anything that I hear they said or that I hear them say. So I really can't -- I really don't know. I don't even know if Zarqawi was alive at that time or whether he's been dead for a long time, whether he ever existed.

5) MI5 whistleblower presents new evidence to demand London bombings inquiry

Ex-Counter Intelligence Officer David Shayler introduces the premiere of a Bristol made documentary which challenges the official story of the London bombings.

Almost a year on from that day and the government has still not accepted the need for a public inquiry. Timed to mark the first anniversary of the 7/7 attacks Mind the Gap presents new evidence that contradicts the government's version of events.

David Shayler's job in MI5 was protecting the British public from terrorist attack. He has studied the events of 7/7 thoroughly for a soon-to-be-released book and has concluded that the official account of four lone suicide bombers just does not add up. Highlighting little-known facts from last year's attacks he will give the audience a briefing, much like one he would have given to the Prime Minister of the day.

Why are there so many gaps in the official story? A vast amount of unsubstantiated stories have been published by the press, why the confusion? Were the men duped? Were they really suicide bombers? Why have no CCTV pictures of the suspected bombers on the tube network been released? What are the parallels with the 9/11 attacks?

These and many more questions challenging the official version of events will be explored. As survivors, politicians and religious leaders are again calling for a public inquiry into the attacks, this film shows why such an inquiry is necessary.

After the film there will be an opportunity for audience questions and open debate.

David Shayler's biog:

On graduating in 1989 David Shayler joined the Sunday Times. Six months later, he left the newspaper to set up his own student publication with a circulation of 25,000. In 1991, David joined MI5 as a counter-intelligence officer.

In 1996, after being briefed about an MI6-funded operation to assassinate Colonel Gaddafi of Libya which killed innocent civilians he resigned from the service. In August 1997, he submitted a series of articles blowing the whistle on his previous employers. He fled to France before he could be arrested. A year later, he was imprisoned with a view to extradition. The French court refused the request because David's alleged offence was political.

In 2000, David voluntarily returned to the UK. In 2002 he was tried and convicted under the Official Secrets Act and sentenced to six months in prison. Since his release, he has helped his partner Annie Machon, also a former MI5 officer, to write Spies, Lies and Whistleblowers, MI5, MI6 and the Shayler Affair, which details corruption and incompetence at the heart of the British intelligence establishment.

David has now turned his full attention to exposing false flag operations like 9/11. He is a key member of the UK and Ireland Truth Campaign. He has more recently been investigating the inconsistencies regarding the 7th July bombings for a book which is to be finished soon.

6) Ian Crane of UK 9/11 Truth: Get Ready for Next Year's 7/7 Conference!

Ian reports:

I have been back in the UK for just almost three days now ,,,and I’m still buzzing from the Chicago experience. What can I say? You guys did an amazing job in pulling it all together; it was a truly outstanding event. Hopefully, you guys won’t actually read this for a few days yet …as I trust that you are all taking a well-earned vacation!

It was wonderful to be able to meet up with people whose names were familiar … yet we had never met. The international 9/11 Truth Campaign is significantly stronger as a result of your efforts.

You have set a standard that will be difficult to live up to …. but we are determined that the UK 9/11 Truth Campaign will host an International Truth Event in London next year. The dates of the Conference will be July 6th/7th/8th, 2007; thereby embracing the second anniversary of the London Bombings on 07/07/07. The venue will be a major conference center, close to the British Parliament.
