Online petition you may be inclined to sign:
'Make all calls to the Department for Work and Pensions free':

'To: Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, Damian Green MP
Make all calls to the Department for Work and Pensions free.
Why is this important?
Because charging struggling families up to 45p a minute to claim vital benefit payments by phone is extortionate.
When the government introduces Universal Credit, families will be forced to call an 0345 number, incurring charges of up to 45p a minute to claim their benefits.
It’s difficult enough as it is living on disability benefits without being charged 45p/ minute to call the DWP.
More often than not it’s their mistake you’re rectifying when you call, I don’t see why anyone should be charged such an extortionate fee for simply making a phone call.
Exposed: the government’s been slammed by their own experts for forcing struggling families needing welfare support to call a premium rate number. [1] So 38 Degrees member Jim is campaigning to stop the rip-off charges.
The politician in charge of this decision, Damian Green, has just started his new job. [3] The last thing he’ll want is bad publicity!!. If enough of us sign the petition now, the public pressure added to the damning verdict from his own experts, could convince Green to scrap the premium rate phone line.
If you think the government shouldn't be cashing in on people who're struggling to get by, add your name to Jim's petition now. It'll take less than a minute: _________________ 'And he (the devil) said to him: To thee will I give all this power, and the glory of them; for to me they are delivered, and to whom I will, I give them'.
