“The New York Times” has obtained the full text of a report by the
Justice Department’s Office of Special Investigations (OSI) which
reveals astonishing facts about how US government agencies and most
notably the Central Intelligence Agency created a “safe haven” for
Nazis and their collaborators in the US.
The full text contains 600 pages and provides evidence about more than
two dozen of the most notorious Nazi cases of the last thirty years.
Among the cases is, for example, the case of Otto Von Bolschwing, a
former associate of one of the most notorious Nazi war criminals Adolf
Eichmann, who masterminded and personally executed the plan “to purge
Germany of the Jews”. Von Bolschwing, it has been revealed, helped
Eichmann to develop the plan. After World War II he was granted access
to the US and worked for the CIA. The report states that CIA officers
were informed of Von Bolschwing’s Nazi past and even debated what
should be done if Von Bolschwing were confronted about it — whether to
deny any Nazi affiliation or “explain it away on the basis of
extenuating circumstances.”
Another revealed case concerns Arthur L. Rudolph, a Nazi scientist who
ran the Mittelwerk munitions factory. He was brought to the United
States in 1945 for his rocket-making expertise under Operation
Paperclip, an American program that recruited scientists who had
worked in Nazi Germany. Later, Rudolph was highly honored by NASA and
credited as the father of the Saturn V rocket.
The report says that Justice Department investigators found evidence
that Rudolph was much more actively involved in exploiting slave
laborers at Mittelwerk than he or American intelligence officials had
acknowledged.
And cases like this are numerous. The most striking fact is that
overtly the US officials have for decades urged other countries to
prosecute former Nazi war criminals, but, as it turns out, covertly
were using them for various purposes citing the “national interests”.
The report reveals that quite a number of Nazis were granted free
access to the US and later used for intelligence and other purposes,
although government officials were well informed of their past.
“America, which prided itself on being a safe haven for the
persecuted, became...a safe haven for persecutors as well,” says the
report.
The very fact that such an investigation was conducted by an office
under the Justice Department is not surprising. It is hardly any
secret that there exists deep mistrust and sharp rivalry between
various law enforcement agencies, including the CIA and the Justice
Department. Throwing a stone into the other’s domain is only too
natural.
But then, why was the report kept secret for four years after it was
initially compiled in 2006? And why, when sued by David Sobel, a
Washington lawyer, and the National Security Archive under the Freedom
of Information Act, the Department did provide Mr. Sobel with only a
partial copy with more than 1,000 passages and references deleted
based on exemptions for privacy and internal deliberations?
One of the explanations is simple: the report cites several cases when
the Justice Department officials were the ones who concealed the facts
about the Nazi past of applicants for entry into the US.
But actually, the reason is much deeper. The report clearly shows the
level of the overall American (without any distinction between
agencies) complicity and deception in such operations.
And this brings us to the most vital question. It is universally
acknowledged that the very notion of “human rights” is far above any
political or other practical considerations. The US is trying hard to
present itself as the leading proponent of human rights in the world.
But the “NY Times” revelations show that when it comes to designing a
nuclear warhead, or providing substantial intelligence data, or any
other issue, much more earthly than the “human rights”, but bearing
directly on the “national interests”, the very notion of “human
rights” may easily be forgotten. The notorious “double standards” are
once again at work.
What implications and consequences the whole case may have for the
fate of Barack Obama who pledged to make his administration the most
transparent one, is still to be seen. Probably, none – there are still
two years to go before the next presidential elections.
But the fact that America’s image has once again been tarnished
remains unquestionable.

It has been developed into a perfectly honed technique: the airing of a confidential report used to mask the truth that it was supposed to disclose.
Thus, on its front page The New York Times has recently released a U.S. Justice Department report, kept under wraps for four years, relating to Nazi criminals who found refuge in the United States.
The report pours over tens of cases, providing such titillating details as the conservation of Joseph Mengele’s scalp for DNA identification.
In substance, the publicity around the report aims first and foremost to portray as individual cases what in fact amounted to a systematic policy, as several historians have demonstrated since a long time.
The Pentagon and the CIA, on the one hand, reconditioned numerous Nazi scientists (Operation Paperclip), some of whom were given a free hand to pursue research projects involving the application of criminal methods (especially in terms of biological and chemical warfare), and, on the other hand, recruited a great number of Nazi criminals to repress by any available means their political adversaries throughout the world (for example, Operation Condor).
For its part, the USSR also used Nazi scientists, but only for transfer of technology purposes and for a limited period. Moscow never sanctioned any research that included criminal practices and expelled all those scientists at the end of three years. Moreover, the USSR never resorted to Nazi criminals as a tool for political repression.
Since it was part of a system, the presence of Nazis in the U.S. imperial machinery straddled several generations. Thus, in 1986-87, George Herbert Walker Bush and Ronald Reagan surrounded themselves with Nazi policy advisers in the bosom of the Republican Heritage Groups Council. More recently, the Clinton and Bush Jr. administrations called on the offspring of those advisers to oversee several Eastern and Central European governments. Along the same line, Ukrainian Nazi Lev Dobriansky was adviser to Reagan before serving as ambassador in the Bahamas, whereas his daughter Paula Dobriansky - notoriously linked to the CIA - was entrusted by the State Department with the task of farming out the second generation to East-European governments of the post-Soviet era. The concept of psychological warfare emerged in Nazi Germany and was later adopted by the USA.
The word is a translation of the German “Weltanschauungskrieg” (war of worldviews). Wall Street Lawyer William Donovan “Wild Bill” was one of the first to use it in the context of public relations in the USA. President Franklin Roosevelt appointed him as Director of the new U.S. intelligence agency, the Office of Strategic Services (OSS, predecessor of the CIA) who saw “psychological warfare” as an important stratagem for “engineering of consent” in the public mind (see Chomskys & Hermans “propaganda model”).

Donovan viewed an understanding of Nazi psychological tactics as a vital source of ideas for “Americanized’’ versions of many of the same stratagems. The United States openly uses the COVID-19 pandemic to address its geopolitical and geo-economic challenges. Therefore, without waiting for an investigation to be carried out by the World Health Organisation, other countries are accused of spreading coronavirus.
At the same time, the US itself does not want to say anything about their 400 biological laboratories? These bio-laboratories are scattered across the planet and their activities are not regulated by any international agreements. What are they engaged in? What experiments are carried out?
In order to answer this question, it is enough to recall the history of the origin of these bio-laboratories. Their origins should be sought in the period of German-American cooperation of the 1920s-1930s. Within the framework of this cooperation, American and German scientists carried out joint research in the field of medicine and the development of bacteriological weapons. This process continued until the United States entered the war in December 1941. At the same time, American colleagues were not embarrassed by the fact that the Nazis used concentration camp prisoners for “experiments”.
In particular, the prisoners of the oldest concentration camp of the “Third Reich” Dachau were experimented on with malaria and tularemia. The latter was discovered, and actually created, by virologists from the California anti-plague station located near Lake Tulare in the United States. From the name of the latter came the name of an infectious disease, the causative agent of which was bacterium tularensis.
The symptoms of this disease are almost impossible to distinguish from malaria. It is therefore difficult to detect in the field, especially during hostilities. It is no accident that studies of tularemia have become one of the most “promising” within the framework of the American-German “scientific exchange of experience”.
In fact, the Nazi concentration camps became the first laboratories for the development of biological weapons. The Americans gave money and shared scientific knowledge, and the Nazis tested the theories of their colleagues in practice, including through inhumane experiments. In the future, these experiments were continued in the field conditions. Here we will give examples related to this same tularemia.

The first large-scale outbreak of this infectious disease was registered in the winter of 1941/1942. Back then the Wehrmacht had to retreat under the blows of the Red Army. When retreating to the abandoned territories of the Rostov and Lugansk regions, the Nazis released a large number of rodents vaccinated with bacterium tularensis. At that time in the Rostov region alone in January 1942 14,000 people died from tularemia. The consequences for the Lugansk region were no less severe.
The next use of a bacteriological weapon called “tularemia” occurred during the battle of Rzhev in 1942. Here, on the territory liberated from the Nazis, a huge number of mice infected with bacterium tularensis were also found. According to the memoirs of Soviet doctors, their invasion was so great that small carriers of the infection even during the day swarmed the dugouts and trenches. They were everywhere – in duffel bags and bowler hats. And they spread the infection everywhere. Fortunately, by this time Soviet doctors had already invented an effective vaccine against the pathogen. The outbreak was quickly extinguished.
But Nazi experimentalists did not disappear after that. The next case of provoking the tularemia epidemic is related to the Battle of Stalingrad. Here the Nazis used the fact that almost all medical centers were destroyed on the territory of the Stalingrad region, and the military medical services of the Red Army were overwhelmed by the wounded. Finally, the civilian population suffered the greatest losses from the agent bacterium tularensis. In most settlements of the Stalingrad region mortality reached 75%.
These examples alone are sufficient to state that our people have been the target of one of the largest biological wars in history. But this fact did not embarrass our “allies” – the American partners of the Third Reich. They did not stop financing Nazi projects until the last days of the Great Patriotic War. Some of these funds were spent on the implementation of inhuman biological “experiments”.
Thus, none other than the Americans became the sponsors of the Nazi bacteriological warfare. They received almost all Nazi documentation in the field of biological weapons, as well as patents for German inventions. This happened after the surrender of Germany and became the basis for the launch of the American bacteriological program. Its continuation can be observed today in the form of US bio-laboratories. These laboratories scattered around the world are a direct continuation of Nazi projects.

Let’s add just one thing to this. The Anglo-Saxons have no concept of “the value of human life”. They have always sought to regulate the size of humanity, but not by promoting individual responsibility, but by mass murder. Therefore, it is not worth weaving yourself with illusions that closed US bio-laboratories do not develop new, even more dangerous viruses.
