[Don't know who originated this, but I've already been boycotting
Exxon-Mobil for YEARS, because of their intimate links to Dick Cheney
and the Bush Family; Exxon-Mobil were reportedly the single largest
donor to the Bush presidential campaigns in 2000 and 2004...]

For what it's worth...........

We are hitting 95p a litre in some areas now, soon we will be faced with
paying £1 a litre.

The following suggestion makes MUCH MORE SENSE than the "don't buy petrol
on a certain day" campaign that was going around last April or May! The oil
companies just laughed at that because they knew we wouldn't continue to
hurt ourselves by refusing to buy petrol. It was more of an inconvenience
to us than it was a problem for them.

BUT, whoever thought of this idea, has come up with a plan that can really
work. Please read it and join in! Now that the oil companies and the OPEC
nations have conditioned us to think that the cost of a litre is CHEAP, we
need to take aggressive action to teach them that BUYERS control the market
place not sellers.

With the price of petrol going up more each day, we
consumers need to take action. The only way we are going to see the price
of petrol come down is if we hit someone in the pocket by not purchasing
their
Petrol! And we can do that WITHOUT hurting ourselves.
Here's the idea:

For the rest of this year, DON'T purchase ANY petrol from the two biggest
oil companies (which now are one), ESSO and BP and MOBIL. If they are not selling any
petrol, they will be inclined to reduce their prices. If they reduce their
prices, the other companies will have to follow suit.

But to have an impact, we need to reach literally millions of Esso, BP and MOBIL petrol buyers.

It's really simple to do!! Now, don't wimp out on me at this point...
keep reading and I'll explain how simple it is to reach millions of
people!!

I am sending this note to 30 people. If each of you send it to at least ten
more (30 x 10 = 300)
...and those 300 send it to at least ten more
(300 x 10=3,000)
... and so on, by the time the message reaches the sixth
generation of people, we will have reached over THREE MILLION consumers!
If those three million get excited and pass this on to ten friends each,
then 30 million people will have been contacted! If it goes one level
further, you guessed it.....THREE HUNDRED MILLION PEOPLE!!! Twisted Evil

It's a nice idea, Akbal13, but whilst I think there are ways to boycott and damage the interests of Big Oil, I don't think that we are going to see cheaper petrol anytime soon. I personally think that we have reached a plateau and are nearing the peak of world oil production. It's a simple supply & demand problem - we can't lower the price of petrol by buying elsewhere if there is no elasticity in the market.

The best thing we can do is to wean ourselves away from our cars, start riding a bicycle to work, make a move towards localisation and lead more sustainable lifestyles. Fact is, the price of petrol is cheap considering it's so incredibly useful. Although it's going to mean pain in the short-term I think it's a good idea for petrol prices to remain high. It means solar, wind, tidal and etc will be more appealing.

And, although Big Oil might make some fantastic profits in the near-term, it's also going to cause a lot of problems for our neo-con friends. Remember that OPEC was formed to stop the large international oil companies and countries like the US from selling petrol to itself at ridiculously low prices, therefore denying often hostile regimes higher revenues.

Look at all the extra income that's entering Venezuela at the moment, a major headache for the US - a country with leverage over Washington that is looking to build an alternative to the ruinous policies of neo-liberalism. I'm certainly watching with interest.

:The Supply v. Demand Question is still out for more indepth :investigation. Meantime it is likely to take on a speculative appeal for oil- cartels to play with SPIN.

:True; but meantime how about a bit of guerilla activity to keep them on the qui vive?

If you agree with the demands below and you will boycott
Wendy's and Outback Steakhouse then forward this email
with your name, state and email address and mail this to

webmaster@...
and I will forward each and every name
to both Outback Steak house and Wendy's.
Keep the subject as ELECTION REFORM
so I can keep your reply in an ELECTION REFORM folder.

We demand that your company executives get the RNC chairman
to hold a press conference acceeding to these demands
and the congress legislate these demands and the president sign
these into law or we will continue to boycott your products.

We demand vote by mail throughout the United States of America.
This will prevent Republicans from vote suppression by skin color
which happened electronicly & in person in the 2000 and 04'elections.
We demand each state implement vote by mail with paper ballots
easy to fill out and difficult to change or invalidate
by Republican Party officials.

We demand Civil servants on every state payroll keep track
of voter registrations and vote counting of mail in votes
in each precinct and not companies such as Choice-Point.
We need to take the Republican Party out of the business
of keeping track of voter registration and counting votes.

We demand States ban the secretary of state
from engaging in politics especially acting as
a campaign official for a presidential campaign.

To encourage the Republican congress to pass a federal law
we call for a boycott of 2 big Republican contributors
Wendy's restaurants of Ohio and Outback Steakhouse of Florida.

Ohio and Florida, the scenes of the crimes
of the stolen elections of 2000 and 2004.
This boycott will entail demanding that the executives
get the RNC chairman to hold a press conference
acceeding to the above demands listed above and the actual
enacting of the items into federal legislation
directing the states to implement the above demands.

People will continue to boycott these restaurants
until we get honest elections by mail with paper ballots
and honest voter registration systems run by civil servants.
No partisan secretary of state will remove thousands of people
from voter rolls or hide voting machines in order to get
their presidential candidate elected by vote suppression again.

Do you want to lower gasoline prices? Do this.

BOYCOTT Exxon/Mobil gasoline stations. Do not buy gasoline
nor get your car repaired at Exxon and Mobil gasoline stations.
Yes, Exxon/Mobil corporation has donated heavily to the Republican Party.

Call several local Exxon/Mobil stations and demand they call the company
executives and demand they get the price of gas down to $1.50 a gallon and that you will not patronize them until gas goes to that level. You can
then at least buy somewhere else until the Exxon/Mobil gasoline station
owner operators get the financial pressure and put pressure on the company executives.

I said the stations. This will pressure the station owner oprators to call
the company executives to lower the prices. It won't affect the oil
companies directly but when the owners of the stations begin to lose money from getting no car repairs and gasoline sales, you will see action taken.

SPREAD THE WORD.

"Palestine is Only a Post" on the "Shortest Road to Asia"
~ Theodore Herzl

In his address to the fourth zionist congress in London,
1900, Theodore Herzl, the founder of political zionism, stated:
- ”It is of Increasing Importance to the Nations of Civilization
that on the Road to Asia – the shortest Road to Asia
–there would be set up a Post of Civilization,
which would be at the Service of Civilized Mankind.
This post is Palestine...and the Jews will be prepared
to defend this post with Blood and Substance.”
(The Balfour Declaration, by Leonard Stein, London,1961, at p.19).

The BEST Explanation of DUPLICITOUS Z**NISM in WWII.
Below: http://www.nkusa.org/Historical_Documents/RakBedam.cfm

Excerpt from Sefer Min Hametzar by Rabbi Michael Dov Weissmandl ZT"L
Dean of Nitra Yeshiva and author of min hametzar.
- The Excerpt is a literal translation of the letter
the Jewish Rescue Committee in Czechoslovakia received from
the Z**nist "Jewish" Agency Executive Officers in Switzerland.
This was in reply to the call of the Jewish Rescue Committee for help,
with Documentary evidence furnished, concerning the fate
of millions of Jewish people in Nazi occupied Europe.

"We are writing to remind you of the one factor
of which you must never lose sight:
That ultimately, the Allies will Win the War.
After their victory, territorial boundaries
will be reshaped, as they were after the First World War.
Then, the way will be clear for our purpose. At this time,
with the war drawing to a close, we must do everything
in our power to change - 'Eretz Yisroel' into 'Medinat Yisrael'-
and many steps have already been taken in this regard.
Therefore,
- We must Turn a Deaf Ear to the Pleas and Cries from Eastern Europe.-
- Remember this - All the allies have suffered many losses,
and if we also do not - Offer Many Human Sacrifices,-
how can we Gain the Right to sit at the conference table
when the territorial boundaries are reshaped?
Accordingly, it is foolhardy and brazen for us to negotiate
in terms of money or supplies in exchange for Jewish lives.
- How dare we ask of the allied powers - to barter money
for lives - whilst they are sustaining heavy casualties daily?
So, insofar as the masses are concerned: RAK B'DAM TIHJE LAKU HAAREZ,
(Eretz Yisroel will be Ours Only by Paying with Blood),
but as far as our immediate circle is concerned, ATEM TAJLU.
The messenger bearing this letter
will supply you with funds for this purpose."
After I accustomed myself to the peculiar writing, I trembled
when I Realized the Import of "RAK B'DAM TIHJE LANU HAAREZ".
But many weeks passed, and I was still confounded
by the meaning of ATEM TAJLU. Until one day, it struck me.
ATEM TAJIU meant - "YOU ESCAPE" -, for the word "TIYUL"
(walking trip) was used by them as a Euphemistic Code for "Escape".
- They meant to say - you fifteen or twenty "Party Members",
Escape from Czechoslovakia and Save Your Hides.
The Price of Eretz Yisroel is the BLOOD
of the Men and Women, Hoary Sages, and Babes in Arms,
- but NOT YOUR BLOOD!- Let us not spoil this plan
by giving the Axis powers money to save Jewish lives.
But for you, comrades, I have enclosed carfare for your escape.
What a nightmare!
The Zionist agent "Diplomat" comes to Czechoslovakia and says
'Now is a very critical time. But comparatively speaking,
it is not at all critical for you trapped Jews.
For there is an emergency of far greater proportions;
namely, BINYAN HA-ARETZ (the prize of Modinat Yisrael).
Shed your BLOOD cheerfully, for your Blood is Cheap.
But for your BLOOD, the Land (of Israel) will be Ours!"

I can't see the point of boycotting merely Esso, BP and Mobil. All the other fuel firms get even richer and more powerful by selling atmospheric pollutants. Is there really a case to be argued that the three mentioned are even nastier than the others?

Hi Noel,

Well, primarily ESSO+BP=EXXON&MOBIL because this covers the megathree which, if negatively affected will be enough to spill the whole economic mess from the fryingpan into the fire!

ADD to this other consumer guerilla tactics like 'cycling, walking, flying ONLY if gliders, sailing and REDUCING energy consumption thru Wind, Wave and Sun.

The idea is to put the big players into CHECK&MATE ... the rest will fall into place like obedient little pawns
