I am getting conflicting reports on the Prestwick Airport situation, Scotland.
The Pentagon has denied that chartered flights carrying bunker-busting bombs to Israel through British airports.
If they are using British Airports - that is certianly the final straw!

I've not come accross this one, but don't Israel already have all the bunker busters they need?
The deal went through early 2005 for the US to sell Israel at least 100 of their most effective 'bunker busters' - so I'd thought that they'd recieved them by now.
These GBU-28s are thought to be the only bombs that could penetrate and destroy Iran's deeply buried uranium enrichment facility at Natanz, about 100 miles north of Isfahan.
So this latest story is about these bombs or is this an extra shipment? _________________ - www.takectrl.org - |

Ah but wait, all is not lost.
Our wonderfully effective Foreign Secretary, Margaret Becket, you know the one who replaced Jack "an attack on Iran is inconceivable" Straw has said this:
"We have already let the United States know that this is an issue that appears to be seriously at fault, and we will be making a formal protest if it appears that that is what has happened."
So, "if it appears that to be seriously at fault" whatever that means, a formal protest will be made.
Further on the BBC article a Foreign Office spokeman declares:
"We have procedures in place for flights carrying arms. It's important that they are followed. If they are not, we will raise it with the US but we are not going to comment on US flights transiting through the UK."
So it's just procedural eh, as long as you have the correct forms you can ship whatever weapons you like through UK airports.
According to BBC Two's Newsnight programme, the US has lodged requests to bring two more planes through the UK carrying bombs and missiles for Israel in the next two weeks.
All of this on top of the "extraordinary rendition" CIA flights using Prestwick too.
Then during Bliars parlez with the Global Village Idiot en route to Bohemian Grove we get this:
"President Bush did apologize for the fact that proper procedures were not followed," Blair's spokesman told reporters following talks between the two leaders in Washington. "It was a gracious thing to do."
Ah bless, "A gracious thing to do". We allow these disgusting weapons to be shipped through UK airports so Israel can bomb the Lebanon back into the stone age and when Bush apologises he is "gracious" ?

At least the Irish refused permission to use their airports.
One Irish official said that the bombs would never have been allowed on Irish soil.
The source said: "There is absolutely no way that we would allow munitions or weapons to be shipped through Shannon to a location where there is an actual war going on. We would not allow it. It is correct that we allow the US to transport troops to Shannon, but sending bombs to Israel is another matter and completely out of the question for us."

SNP leader Alex Salmond talks sense though.
