Not that I'm not plugging this or anything (honest guv'nor), but I'd just like to mention an up-and-coming British feature film dealing with ordinary people and what they did on 7/7 called 'Nine Lives London'. Full funding hasn't been secured yet, but the hope is that this will happen soon in order to allow filming to begin in September.
My part in it is that I wrote one of the 9 segments (there's 9 different stories, although some characters overlap). From the point of view of this site, however, the film doesn't delve into the truth behind the Government's lies. I did try - one of my story ideas had a conspiratorial flavour to it but was passed over in favour of another, more character-driven piece (hey, the producers want to get the thing made, you know?).
Okay, so it won't rock the boat, but in the absence of any other non-documentary films being made about that day, the movie should at least generate some 7/7 awareness, and succeed in pulling the event back into the public consciousness, where it belongs.
The movie's website is:

There. Plug over. |

As a last-minute addition to the script (it shoots next week), my director is looking for a news report we can act out and record as background in the film. I've done quite a few web searches but can't find any transcripts of TV news reports broadcast between news of the underground bombs going off and the bus bomb.
Can anyone help? I'm trying to keep it as authentic as possible and don't want to have to just cobble something together myself.
Cheers. |

I have about 40 hours of footage from 7/7, starting about 6am until 10pm covering about four satellite news channels, also have a shed load of transcripts too, what is it you specifically want? |

You're a life-saver, Ally. Here's what I'm looking for:
If you happened to switch on the TV around 9.20am on 7/7, what would you hear?
The camera will be on the actors at this point, so we won't actually see any TV footage. But if I could have a transcript of about five minutes worth of real newsreader or on-the-scene reporter dialogue, that'd be fantastic. The director wants to read it out himself.
We plan on hearing the first 30 seconds or so very clearly, before the actors turn the volume down in order to use the phone (so we'll still want to hear the rest in the background).
If you don't have any TV dialogue, radio would be almost as good.
You can pm me if it's easier.
Cheers,
Gordon. |
