WTC Documents Seized By NYC Mayor -- Will Not Return
New York City has entered into a contract with the Rudolph W. Giuliani Center For Urban Affairs to transfer custody of public records
"World Trade Center files" and "Millennium Project files," together with 6000 files of photographs, 1000 audiotapes, and 15,000 videotapes, are also reported to be a part of the records covered by the contract. The records include those of his chief of staff and every deputy mayor, together with their chiefs of staff.
World Trade Center-related materials are alleged to be included as part of the records. All of these items were reported to have been delivered from the direct custody and control of the City where they are subject to the Freedom of Information Law to a private warehouse storage facility in Long Island City at the end of December 2001 where they are not subject to the requirements of the law.

There has been a a void of documents since about a month after 9-11. Here is a link to the case of the missing WTC documents:

Every contract for a construction project for the Port Authority requires that detailed photographs of the construction progress be submitted every month by an independent
photographer under contract for this purpose. The photographs are provided in multiple copies for the records of the architect, structural engineer, General Contractor and the Port Authority and others. In addition, the Authority's contracts also require a detailed written report of the construction progress.
In addition to the Contract Drawings and Specifications prepared by the Architects, the Structural Engineers, and the Mechanical Engineers which are used to obtain competitive bids for the construction, the contractors are required to submit shop drawings of every element of the materials that are incorporated in the construction for the approval of the architects and engineers before the materials can be fabricated or incorporated into the construction.
All of these hundreds of drawings, photographs, and reports have been squirreled away from public scrutiny.
Could there be other copies? It is possible but unlikely.
It’s been reported that there were strict controls implemented re the construction drawings. They were checked out by contractors for 5 day periods (no weekends), and the contractors had to sign agreements stating the drawings would not be copied.
The final core plans were not made available to contractors until 2 days before work was to begin on the core.
For anybody to give any credence to the Government's loony conspiracy theory when all of the information critical to its verification has been classified have either naively accepted the duplicity or have become willing participants in the deception. |
