Can anyone with appropriate equipment record tonight's Sunday's Channel 4 programme at 6.40 BST, Decoding Da Vinci?
To quote Radio Times it "questions members of a genuinely secret body that is alleged to have vetted Tony Blair before he became Prime Minister."
Many thanks

Didn`t the Bildeberg group start inviting Tony Blair to meetings before he became P.M.? Are the interviews with Bildeberg members? |

I thought the first episode on 'Secret Societies' was unutterable rubbish.
The quality of the 'investigation' into Freemasonry tonight would have shamed a 10 year old. The presenter, Dan Rivers, with all the breathless innocence and faux-sincerity of a young Tony Blair found that all these societies were harmless but, guess what, we humans have a great psychological need for 'satisfying' conspiracy theories.
This programme was yet another, designed to subtly alienate the likes of ourselves from any possible increase in support. |

I agree KBO.
One of the key things I noticed was that he was quite happy to have a Psychologist analyse the "CT Mentality", but never thought to ask about what psychology lay behind masonic ceremonies that he himself was shown the furnishings of - daggers, ropes, aprons and being made to kneel down. All that stuff, of course, is just "adult party games".... _________________ Andrew

The same Dan Rivers, definately part of the Establishment, getting assigned all the interesting tasks, now he's rubbishing those who'd question his own propaganda:
Rivers is Crime Correspondent of ITV News.
He joined ITV News in October 2000 as a production journalist and has since worked on all the major national and international stories of the day.
This has included covering the entire Hutton Inquiry for the ITV News Channel, providing exhaustive minute-by-minute coverage and analysis.
In March 2003, Dan was one of the ITV News reporters covering the war in Iraq as an embedded reporter with the Royal Navy, broadcasting live from a ship in the Gulf.
He was first with a tip-off of the initial cruise missile attacks on Baghdad and also filed exclusive reports on mine sweeping operations off Iraq.
During his first 18 months as a reporter for ITV News, Dan covered the Potters Bar crash, the foot-and-mouth crisis, 9/11, the 2001 General Election and numerous high-profile trials, including breaking the verdict in the trial of Lord Archer.
Before joining ITN, Dan worked for EuroNews, the European news channel based in Lyon, France, where he reported on a variety of international news stories, including the fall of President Milosevic in Serbia.

Thanks for recording it, Kevin. So far as I'm concerned you can wipe it now. Such a superficial look at secret societies seems to be a total waste of time, except for people whose agenda is to preserve their secrets by putting out propaganda that they and their secret societies are at best benevolent and at worst a harmless bit of fun, while those who doubt their propaganda are deranged conspiracy theorists whom no one need take seriously.

If Channel 4 runs a programme about conspiracy theories and the type of personality who is attracted to them, and if the phrase is such in widespread use, as I believe it is, we are having an effect. When a journalist gets a leg-up to his career, no wonder he's poacher turned gamekeeper! |

Ally,
Thanks for the background on Dan "Freshy Handsome Face" Rivers - it illustrates how the system works and how it keeps people in ignorance - how few people will bother to check out the information you posted?
Looks like Mr Rivers just likes to ... wait for it... wait for it more... go with the flow... _________________ Andrew
