Dear friends,

A PLANETARY APPEAL - PLEASE CIRCULATE AS WIDELY AS POSSIBLE!

I am committed to the struggle against Islamophobia in Britain and elsewhere.

Though I am a nominal Christian I have thrown in my lot with my Muslim fellow-countrymen in order to face the anti-evolutionary forces behind the current Islamophobia.

The time is now ripe for the formation everywhere of an Alliance for Peace, Justice and the Defence of Civil Liberties, an Alliance for everyone, including Muslims, Jews, Christians and All Others alike.

If humanity is to evolve in this new Christian century then it will only do so by first facing and then prevailing against the anti-evolutionary forces behind Islamophobia.

Islamophobia is, itself, nothing more than a red herring for the real intention of the criminal minds behind it is to stir-up communal strife in order to justify the implementation of draconian, totalitarian laws to turn our Planet into one vast corporate totalitarian prison. What the Canadian journalist, Eric Margolis, calls the 'sovietization' of the USA is but the first significant step towards this planetary gulag.

I am sending this to you via the Internet, trusting that this revolutionary method of planetary communication has its own impetus and dynamic to set the world afire with an idea whose time is NOW.

In the spirit of a truly democratic, horizontal network of information and action I only ask that if you are inspired by this idea to make it your own and to run with it. Act as you are inspired to do. If it takes a hundred monkeys to change the dietary habits of an entire species, think what a hundred humans could do!

I ask you to circulate this request to everyone you know around the world. Please do reply to me and give me your feedback.

I'm grateful for Rory's initiative here. I believe there is already a global alliance for peace, justice and civil liberties - an informal alliance. Those who believe in these values recognise each other and co-operate. I'm not sure if Rory is proposing formalising this alliance in some way.

I think the missing element in what Rory is proposing is truth and perhaps also love. But if love is too strong or too misunderstood a word for use in the political realm, perhaps we should use goodwill.

Without truth and goodwill we cannot achieve these goals. Good people get taken in by the lies of those who claim to be in favour of peace, justice and liberty. Such leaders George W Bush and Tony Blair claim to be in favour of these values.

Rory says he is nominally a Christian. I belong to a spiritual society with Christian roots in which some members regard themselves as Christians while others take a broader view of spirituality, some calling themselves universalists, agnostics, Buddhists, Jews etc. Some even attend the local Mosque. We have a wide breadth of approaches but are united by a belief in the importance of love and truth.

Our first advice reads:

"Take heed, dear Friends, to the promptings of love and truth in your hearts. Trust them as the leadings of God, whose light shows us our darkness and brings us to new life."

I believe that however you define your spirituality is of minor importance compared with the importance of love and truth from which spring the values of peace, justice and liberty. Without the practice of shining the light of love and truth into the dark corners of our minds, we risk being unaware of the ways in which our behaviour falls short of the ideals we aspire to.

Strip away the barriers between Faiths, ignore the falsehoods of our leaders and socialize with one and other, especially in public places so that people can see you treating your fellow neighbour as human rather than what their imagination permits!

The problem is you always get some people in EVERY religion who want to stir up things, who hate other religions or even strains of thier own religion.

This hatred comes through upbringing or a bad religious teaching, or persons who are basically bad and like to cause hatred. Get rid of these cancers and the future could be rosy.

The answer is education and experience, if you get people from various religions to meet and talk to each other, experience the fact that everyone basically believes in the same God anyway, then steps can be made towards a better understanding.

But there will always have to be some enemy, some country to be attacked so weapons can be advanced and sold. Thus the heart of our mad race for profit, and success etc must change, for this is the fuel which drives the madness.
