That's really useful!
This Flash Video format seems to be designed to prevent downloading and non-net distribution.
Mac users might be interested to know that there is a QuickTime plug-in called Perian which allows you to open .flv files in QuickTime and if you have QuickTime Pro you can then export to whatever format you like:

Brilliant. I have often wondered how to do that. Thanks a lot! _________________ 'Maybe if I can show some lurking kids that this is all a pack of lies, then maybe I can make a difference. I don't plan on converting any of you because you're all mad.'

View all the new posts on this site from all forums using an RSS viewer.
Internet Explorer 7 (new version) has a great viewer on it - press the orange RSS feed at the top right of the forum.
Download IE7 at http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/default.mspx
Couldnt find one built in for Firefox, or it didnt work, but i could be wrong.
It really makes a difference to keeping informed. |

I've been able to download Google videos and make DVD's from them on a Mac - it's easy. Here's how:
1. Using Safari on the mac, go to google video and enter a page as if you are watching a film.
2. Open Activity window
3. Look for a large file - this will be an FLV file (Flash video)
4. Double click on it in the activity window and it'll open just that file in a new window.
5. Safari will automatically download the file as it can't read it (ie: as HTML, PHP, etc.)
6. Once the file has downloaded to your desktop, use a piece of software called VISUALHUB.
7. You'll need to have a regsitered copy of VISUALHUB, a crack code won't work. With this you can convert any FLV file to DVD, MPG, iPOD, PSP, AVI, WMV, etc.
Easy! |
