|
|
Please, please, please Mods; can we make a permanent function of the main menu board a "Hi, welcome, come on in and introduce yourself..." facility?
It's such a gracious way to present a terriffic website full of so many decent people.
And who knows.... maybe some of the longer-term contributors will pop in and give us a low-down too?
Pretty please?

Hello Newcomers who may be reading this!
It's good to have you aboard! Please pm or e-mail people if you want more info.
Many of us are trying to distribute leaflets and disks - maybe you can help?
More ideas here:

(Uma: We are limited in what we can do with the BBS software, but I think yours is a good suggestion - maybe Jim can put a link to a specific forum in somewhere??) _________________ Andrew

Yup, whatever you think, Andrew.
Works really well on other forums in the same format.

Thanks Uma for your kind words and positive contribution.
I've been thinking much the same thing and this is a much overdue function that needs to be created. You are right there are great number of fantastic people who loosely come together here. There are also more who campaign on 9/11 but who don't come here or who only post rarely.
The forum is a valuable tool, but I've never seen it as the be all and end. However I definately recognise that dangers of a public forum where anyone can register in terms of communicating the heart of our message effectively and a serious limitation as to what discussion forums can achieve
An area where new comers can introduce themselves, where their questions as who we are, how we came to be here and how they can get involved in practical campaigning work and in shaping the movement would be invaluable addition. |

Good idea.
It's nice to know other people question the obvious. |
