If they had a Heart!

If they had a Heart and not just a brain
I think the World could get along
Without feeling so much Pain!
Then they could feel the shame and aguish that they cause, and not just thinking of the bottom line and investment loss!
C.E.O.’s and R.M.O.’s the industry’s Stockholders pray the profits grow.
But they don’t care if they don’t see.
As long as they don’t report it on T.V
Their frightened minds are closed to logic
I bet there dreams are frightening too.
The profits come the profits go.
Insider trading and who’s to know!
Dirty Deeds are done dirt-cheap!
Your soul was free, so the price aint steep!

We hope you don’t realize what’s going on!
The Days of the Constitution will soon be done.
The time has come for the Land Of The Free
To trade their Freedoms for false Security!
You will believe there right!
You will watch the news from your T.V.
You wont question their Authority!
You will get in line.
Vote like they want.
Just to feed their Corporate God.
A World Market is what we see.
So if you’re not rich!
Your someone they don’t need!
Minds that think are like a disease
So they better not catch you smoking weed!

Religions Radiate, reason is gone!
Preacher says Gods will is strong!
They flock like sheep to see the Light.
As they support a Leader that isn’t right!
From the pulpit there opinions flow.
Give Us Strength to win and fight!
God is on our side!
If Jesus were here he’d say, Yeah RIGHT!
Do unto others is what he said!
As you would want for yourself!
So why is this rule ignored,
This notion never felt!
It makes me tend to believe!
That Man hates himself!

In times long past,
The forgotten ages,
The truth was told,
By maggot ridden sages.

Noble nights,
With Templar shields,
Would set out east,
To harvest golden fields.

And a rising sun,
welcomed all who sought,
a vanishing truth,
In the esoteric arts,

Now modern man,
Is a mysterious beast,
He worships science,
And cries for peace,

But the age is not done,
The truth is still hidden,
Aquarius has risen,
but the Aztec's are in ruin,

So awful nights,
Will ride once more,
To terrorise the east,
and provoke an unholy war.

I wrote this just now in about 15 minutes as I felt inspired.

Upon the hill of dust

I stand upon the hill of dust
Watching the crows
Making flight at dusk
The bones of the remnant rattle in the wind
I bow to them my brave dead kin

The time is been and past so long
That cry of freedom is a conclusion forgone
That sweet melody of free spirit and love
Is a song without life, as dead as the dove.

I see the people gaunt, without soul
My heart aches for life, but it feels empty, not whole.
Mothers weep, their sons long gone
People blind to what is wrong

Bombs do blast, the occasional mortar
This is the story of the New World Order
They took our homes, and emptied our purse
The bankers have struck with that dreaded curse

Passion is void in these tumultuous lands
Fingers of bone, and worked rough hands
The skys are grey and time seems shorter
These are the days of the New World Order.

Motivated, I was just sitting by my pond in the garden thinking of the wonderful words you had all written.

I too experienced inspiration I just had to answer. I call it 'Plop'.

They’re funny things are frogs you know
All slimy green and wet
That’s what I thought when I saw one
Struggling in my net

We took it home my dad and me
Driving in his car
The frog it just stared back at me
From inside its jar

My mum saw us a long way off
Coming down the road
She took one look at what I held
And screamed ‘Oh no, a toad!’

It leaped from its container
On long elastic legs
And hopped towards the pond
Jumping toys, and balls, and pegs

It plopped into the water
And hasn’t been seen since
I wonder what happened to that frog
The one that I named Vince?

Tramp The Dirt Down
------Elvis Costello

I saw a newspaper picture from the political campaign
A woman was kissing a child, who was obviously in pain
She spills with compassion, as that young child's
face in her hands she grips
Can you imagine all that greed and avarice
coming down on that child's lips

Well I hope I don't die too soon
I pray the Lord my soul to save
Oh I'll be a good boy, I'm trying so hard to behave
Because there's one thing I know, I'd like to live
long enough to savour
That's when they finally put you in the ground
I'll stand on your grave and tramp the dirt down

When England was the whore of the world
Margaret was her madam
And the future looked as bright and as clear as
the black tarmacadam
Well I hope that she sleeps well at night, isn't
haunted by every tiny detail
'Cos when she held that lovely face in her hands
all she thought of was betrayal

And now the cynical ones say that it all ends the same in the long run
Try telling that to the desperate father who just squeezed the life from his
only son
And how it's only voices in your head and dreams you never dreamt
Try telling him the subtle difference between justice and contempt
Try telling me she isn't angry with this pitiful discontent
When they flaunt it in your face as you line up for punishment
And then expect you to say "Thank you" straighten up, look proud and pleased
Because you've only got the symptoms, you haven't got the whole disease
Just like a schoolboy, whose head's like a tin-can
filled up with dreams then poured down the drain
Try telling that to the boys on both sides, being blown to bits or beaten and
maimed
Who takes all the glory and none of the shame

Well I hope you live long now, I pray the Lord your soul to keep
I think I'll be going before we fold our arms and start to weep
I never thought for a moment that human life could be so cheap
'Cos when they finally put you in the ground
They'll stand there laughing and tramp the dirt down

Five Years - David Bowie

Pushing thru the market
square so many mothers sighing
News had just come over,
we had five years left to cry in

News guy wept and told us
Earth was really dying
Cried so much his face was wet
then I knew he was not lying

I heard telephones, opera house, favourite melodies
I saw boys, toys electric irons and T.V.'s
My brain hurt like a warehouse
it had no room to spare
I had to cram so many things
to store everything in there
And all the fat-skinny people, and all the tall-short people
And all the nobody people, and all the somebody people
I never thought I'd need so many people

A girl my age went off her head
hit some tiny children
If the black hadn't a-pulled her off, I think she would have killed them

A soldier with a broken arm, fixed his stare to the wheel of a Cadillac
A cop knelt and kissed the feet of a priest
and a queer threw up at the sight of that
I think I saw you in an ice-cream parlour
drinking milk shakes cold and long
Smiling and waving and looking so fine
don't think you knew you were in this song

And it was cold and it rained so I felt like an actor
And I thought of Ma and I wanted to get back there
Your face, your race, the way that you talk
I kiss you, you're beautiful, I want you to walk

We've got five years, stuck on my eyes
We've got five years, what a surprise
We've got five years, my brain hurts a lot
We've got five years, that's all we've got

I came across this a few months ago. I can't remember where but given TC's posting of Five Years it seems apt:

Five Years
(With apologies to David Bowie)

Pushing through the gaping hole, so many workers choking
Time enough to wipe the tears, and to even give up smoking
Anchors from Katrina (now soft hearted and soft spoken)
Offer up their platitudes, a paltry little token

We heard horror and glory, glamorized on TV
We heard lies and excuses and we watched ABC
Our cynicism stretched so taut, no sweet sentiment this season
No action, nor reaction, no rhyme and no reason
The consumption enablers selling anything that goes
As they milk fading tragedies to stuff up their nose
And rape our confusion to cover the blows.

Children left orphaned are fed political feces
Given greed masked as kindness, we humanitarian species
So soon they’ll be old enough to send off for the killing
Returning home in their coffins as the blood keeps on spilling

I found myself trapped in a mindless haze, lost in fantasy, fact and fiction
Wasted on promises, gorging lies by the package...my insatiable addictions.
There was fake all around and I groped for compassion
There was none, it was gone, like the towers once crashing
The taste, the waste, the inevitable so soon
The bitterest of products to the ugliest tune.

It’s been five years, nothing has changed
Five years, just more deranged
It’s been five years, so much damage has been done
Five years, and yet nobody’s won.

It’s been five years, so boldfaced we lied
Five years of reality denied
It’s been five years, now the world wants to trade
Five years, now there’s money to be made.

It’s been five years, destruction and terror
Five years our response a deadly error
It’s been five years, this will never end
Five years, there’s still money to spend
