ISLAMOPHOBIA AWARDS

The Islamophobia Awards is an annual event to acknowledge - through satire, revue and comedy - the worst Islamophobes of that year. Centred around a gala dinner, the 'awards' themsleves are both entertaining and raise awarness of a serious and growing prejudice. Real awards are given to those who have battled against Islamophobia - often against enormous odds.

What is Islamophobia?
A contemporary and emerging form of prejudice Islamophobia can be described as stereotypes, bias or acts of hostility towards individual Muslims or followers of Islam in general. In addition to individual acts of intolerance and racial profiling, Islamophobia leads to viewing Muslims as a greater security threat on an institutional, systemic and societal level and perceiving their views to be intrinsically problematic, violent or unethical.

Meles Zenawi (Ethiopia's Prime Minister) For saying that the war on terror is "something of a godsend" and that Ethiopia is at the "epicenter of terrorism" and "a secular island in the sea of Islam."

Bruce Willis For his staunch support of the Iraq War and renlentless barrage of propganda in the guise of 'hollywood movies'.
Coalition of Pro-Israel Hollywood Stars For marching against Hizbullah and Hamas whilst the Lebanon and Gaza offensives were still on.
Condoleezza Rice For trying to change the status quo ante during the Assault on Lebanon.
Daniel Pipes For his anti-Arab, anti-Islam articles and his campaigns and discrimination against Muslims.
George M Weinert V A despicable blogger with too much time on his hands guarantees his place in the fire of hell with his endless rants on the American Jihad blog.
George W Bush For the promoting the phrase 'Islamofascist'
Karol Madera Notorious for his vilification of the mentally ill, phjsically disabled, Hispanics and particularly Muslims, who he refers to as ‘rag heads’. He also identifies his radio station as al Qaeda Control. All this broadcast from his powerful radio station in British Columbia, Canada.
Organisers of Toronto Supports Denmark Rally This rally, led by Islamophobes Nav Purewal and Daniel Dale, was nothing more than an excuse for Muslim bashing under the guise of support of free speech. The anti-Muslim nature of the event was made clear when Muslim women were pelted with eggs, assaulted and verbally abused.
Robert Spencer The author of anti-Islamic books such as ‘The Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam’, as well as ‘Islam Unveiled: Disturbing Questions About the World's Fastest Growing Faith’. Islam is often vented in hateful websites such as Jihad Watch and Dhimmi Watch.

General Musharraf For declaring proudly that he is the biggest agent of the West in Asia and boasting about the billions received in bounties from the US government for handing over ‘terrorists’

John Howard For stating that Muslims migrating to Australia are bringing problems such as jihadist views and conservative attitudes to women not encountered with other immigrant groups.
Sri Lankan Government and Tamil Tigers For targeting the lives of innocent Muslims caught between their bloody conflict.
