Cold Fusion: Steve Jones

Very interesting film on cold fusion here....but it contains an attack on Steve Jones for his 'disreputable' behaviour during thetime in 1989 when 2 scientists claimed to have created 'cold fusion' and, therefore (essentially) free energy in their laboratory.
It seems, by the way, that their claim had some foundation but I have been unable to find anything that explains in detail Steve Jones' part in the whole affair. If anyone can find such info can you post it please.

On superficial reading it seems Jones was thwarted (by one day) in publishing. Pons+Fleischmann then copped the subsequent flak, as I recall.

The only problem of course is that water isn't a limitless resource.

We're so used to seeing pictures from space and thinking in terms of 70% of the Earth's surface being covered in water, that we forget the reality.

The picture below, from an award winning visualisation by Dr. Adam Nieman, shows all the water in the world (1.4087 billion
cubic kilometres of it) including sea water, ice, lakes, rivers, ground water, clouds, etc. to the same scale as the Earth.

Interesting point chek.
I did quite enjoy that documentary but kept thinking why do we need all this energy? I figure if man could learn to live in harmony with nature and only use very small amounts of energy the world would be a better place. Of course this isn't going to happen so we may well end up using some form of cold-fusion.

As for Steve Jones being mentioned in the Vid it was for about 5 seconds!
