I have PM'd Annie about William coming to Reading to give his talk.
I have received the following message from a member of the team

Hi David,
Thanks very much for the e-mail. As I'm sure you appreciate this is a very controversial and delicate subject and so I would need to look into whether or not we think it would be suitable for one of our venues before we could look at any avails. I will have a look at the information on his website as suggested and discuss the idea with our programming team.
I will let you know if we think it is something we could present at The Hexagon.
Regards,

Maybe I am thinking too big? |

Let's see what they say. And what happened to the idea of free speech in the UK? Or are they just worried about the commercial side of things - bums on seats etc? _________________ All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is for good people to do nothing - Edmund Burke.

Hi Scubadiver,
whilst the reaction from the Hexagon is rather pathetic, would it be correct to assume that the response was as a result of the words "9/11 Truth" being mentioned?
Andy Thomas (Lewes) promotes events as an organisation called 'Changing Times'; when William Rodriguez came to Torquay, it was promoted by 'Global Concern'. Any mention of '9/11 Truth' runs the risk of venues being unavailable and absolutely guarantees that the media will ignore any Press Releases and definitely will not make anyone available to cover the event. A little creativity is thus required!
As it happens, my daughter is based in Reading and would be very happy to help out with any Reading based events. A graduate in International Relations, she was always being advised by her tutors to tone down her criticism of US Foreign Policy. Can't think where she gets that from!
If you are interested, PM me your contact details and I'll get her to give you a call.
BW,
Ian. |
