According to CNN, the claim of responsibility for the Jakarta bomb was released to al-Qaeda sympathiser and Arab media sites over the weekend in an unsigned statement.

The eminently qualified high school economics teacher and easily forgotten, former Home Secretary, Jacqui Smith, issued this "cooked up" Christmas message to the good folk of the UK, warning us all of another "dirty bomb threat", channelled through her good offices, on 30 Novermber 2007.
Quote:
Britain faces threat of dirty bomb attack at Christmas, Home Secretary warns
Last updated at 15:00 30 November 2007
Britain faces an increased threat of a "dirty bomb" attack over the Christmas period, Home Secretary Jacqui Smith warned today.
She said the security forces were taking "very seriously" the risk of a possible terrorist attack using radioactive or chemical agents.
Her warning came as police in Slovakia arrested three people this week for trying to sell enriched uranium.
The Slovak authorities said the material was sufficiently enriched to be used in a "dirty bomb" terrorist attack.
Questioned about the find, Ms Smith told Sky News: "If you look at the nature of the sort of attacks that have either been carried out or have been foiled, we are talking about attacks on crowded public places.
"We are talking about the use potentially of dirty bombs and other things and that is why it is something that we need to take seriously."
This summer's foiled attacks in London and Glasgow were a "graphic illustration" of the type of danger facing the country, she said.
She warned that recent intelligence analysis indicated the number of terrorist plots was likely to grow over the next few months.
"The regular threat assessments I receive make sobering reading," she said.
The Home Secretary pointed out that the former MI5 chief Dame Eliza Manningham-Buller had estimated there were 1,600 to 2,000 individuals involved in terrorist plots in Britain.
This week's arrests of three men who allegedly tried to sell contraband uranium for $1 million (£500,000) underscores how a shadowy black market for nuclear components has survived despite tightened security at nuclear facilities worldwide, an expert said.
Should the terrorists ever succeed, "the consequences would be so catastrophic, the world would be a different place the next day," said Richard Hoskins, who supervises a database of stolen, missing, smuggled or unauthorised radioactive materials for the International Atomic Energy Agency.
In apprehending Al Muhajir [aka Jose Padilla] as he sought entry into the United States, we have disrupted an unfolding terrorist plot to attack the United States by exploding a radioactive "dirty bomb."
Now, a radioactive "dirty bomb" involves exploding a conventional bomb that not only kills victims in the immediate vicinity but also spreads radioactive material that is highly toxic to humans and can cause mass death and injury.
From whoever's Jihad it really is on 23.8.1996, to our own Security Services and Home Office issuing yet another "dirty bomb" warning on 30.11.2007 is:

NEW DIRECTOR GENERAL ANNOUNCED (7.3.07)
Dr. John Reid, the Home Secretary, has announced that Jonathan Evans will become the Security Service's new Director General. He will succeed Dame Eliza Manningham-Buller on 21 April 2007 as the Service's sixteenth Director General.
...
In 2001 he was appointed to the Security Service's Management Board as Director of international counter terrorism - ten days before the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Centre.
I recall posting at the time on this board, that a Saturday is a strange day to start work.
Still, like they say, "no rest for the wicked" eh ....
21st April 2007 from the start of the year = 110 days
110 = 37 + 73 - see below.
It is also the 111 th day of the year = 111 = 37 + 37 + 37, naturally ...

From London 7.7.2005 to Jonathan's first day on the job on 21.4.2007 is:
Note: 4 is the Prime root (and first non prime ordinal number root) of all the 7's and their Prime derivations and extensions that we see, because Prime(4) = 7
Simply put, wherever you see a 7 you could substitute that for a P4 and PP4 for a P7 and a PPP4 for PP7 and so on.
MacKey informs us that 4 is the Perfect Number to the Pythagoreans and their kin ...
another way of expressing 9/11 to 21.4.2007 is:
= 2048 days = 8x8x8 + 8x8x8 + 8x8x8 + 8x8x8 days > 888 888 888 888
The Director General of the Security Service, Dame Eliza Manningham-Buller, gave a speech at the Royal United Services Institute "Oversight of Intelligence and Security" conference on 17 June 2003.
She gave an overview of the terrorist threat to the UK, the response of the Security Service to the events of 11 September 2001, and her thoughts on the future nature of the threat. "There are no guarantees in the counter-terrorism business," Dame Eliza said; "this will be a difficult road to travel but the UK has many advantages on which to build."
That could include a chemical, biological, radiological or nuclear attack. Sadly, given the widespread proliferation of the technical knowledge to construct these weapons, it will be only a matter of time before a crude version of a CBRN attack is launched at a major Western city.
And here are some of the ways that the relationship between Dame Eliza's speech at RUSI on 17.6.2003 to London on 7.7.2005, can be expressed using 7's :

Dame Eliza Manningham-Buller at Queen Marys on 9.11.2006
On 9.11.2006 the now former, Mi5 DG gave a landmark speech at Queen Mary's College, London, where she reinforced the threat from "terrorism" by claiming near to 30 active plots, involving 200 groups and 1600 individuals.
The former DG even had the nerve to mention a previous case "managed" by her successor, Jonathan Evans.
That was the secret state's "ace in the hole", Operation Large, entrapping the hapless Moinul Abedin by using the ever so dodgy chemist and "fireworks enthusiast", Doctor Faisal Mostafa, who, no matter what he did, just couldn't manage to get convicted of terrorism charges.
That particular Mi5 operation began, funnily enough, on 9.11.2000 and resurfaced again just when the heat of the Heathrow binary liquids nonsense was beginning to warm the cool calculating brows of our propagandists, just after August 2006.
Warm enough for John, "just call me doctor" Reid, to assert that "we just don't get it"! The good doctor was right for once. We didn't and we don't.
Warm enough too for the honourable Dame to proclaim in her speech at Queen Mary's that:
Quote:
We now know that the first Al-Qaida-related plot against the UK was the one we discovered and disrupted in November 2000 in Birmingham. A British citizen is currently serving a long prison sentence for plotting to detonate a large bomb in the UK. Let there be no doubt about this: the international terrorist threat to this country is not new. It began before Iraq, before Afghanistan, and before 9/11.
In their minds, and their minds alone, that made the nonsensical blowback argument null and void and served to reinforce the derisive and insulting marketing ploy that was the Heathrow binary liquids.
The "double-helix with chips", lie-within-a-lie, faux argument of "blowback from Iraq and Afghanistan" can only ever be entertained, as an exercise in blowing in the wind, if you think that those who are offended by the "imperial jaunts" in Afghanistand and Iraq, are the very same people that, for example, murdered all those people in London, Madrid, New York, Egypt, Jordan, Bali and elsewhere.
Throughout the six-week Birmingham trial, prosecutors admitted that they had no evidence to suggest that either defendant was a member of any terrorist organisation.
Which, when the chips were down, morphed into Dame Eliza's Al Qaeda, a few years later. Needs must eh ....
Anyway, I digress.
From DHWAV-UK on 18.8.1995 to Dame Eliza's, "be very scared" and "gosh, aren't we great value for money" speech at Queen Mary's on 9.11.2006 is:
"I firmly believe that there are other people who have knowledge of what lay behind the attack in July 2005 - knowledge that they have not shared with us.
In fact I don't only believe it, I know it for a fact."
No sh*t sherlock...
You were looking in the wrong place though weren't you Peter ...
That's why you "know it as a fact".
"They're behind you"
Interesting "message" though, received, loud and clear ...
Charged on 5.4.2007 on the same day that Ruth Kelly launched the government's PREVENT strategy.
Formally indicted in Court on Saturday 7.4.2005 = 7+7+7 months after London 7.7.2005 > 777
There's an interesting clue in the commentary from the chap at the BBC in the video as he says:
"... today, 638 days after the launch of probably the most extensive terrorist investigation ever, no question were allowed, just a statement."
The press statement was made on the day of the charges, 5.4.2007 which is the 638th day of the London Bombings on 7.7.2005, not 638 days after, strictly speaking.
I think it's important because 638 = 2 x 319, which is the m.dd signature for events like Iraq 2003 and Libya 2008
319, numerologically could be 3 x 19 = 3 x P8 > 888
and
31 and 9 = P11 and 9 > 119
319 is also 11x ( 9+11+9 ) > 119 119
The BBC chap also says that they were arrested 16 days ago. They wasn't. 22.3.2007 was 14 days before 5.4.2007

DAC Peter Clarke mentions "21 months", rounding up, which was actually reached, as above, on the day that the accused were formally indicted in court on 7.4.2007
Mohammad Sidique Khan, Shehzad Tanweer and Germaine Lindsay, along with some friends, visited London for a sightseeing trip on 28.6.2005, where they did various things that tourists do, like visiting the London Eye, Big Ben, Buck House, Trafalgar Square etc, etc, taking photographs and probably eating an ice cream or two.
This sightseeing trip, luckily provided some CCTV images, which was quite handy really when one considers the "CCTV rich" to "CCTV fail" paradigm at Kings Cross and elsewhere on 7/7.
Parts of the 28 June CCTV have been mentioned and shown repeatedly by the media, as if they are CCTV images from London on 7.7.2005.
The appalling, "back of a fag packet", government narrative and the subsequent so-called "helpers trial" allege that the trip on 28 June 2005 was a "reconnaissance mission" and a "dry run" for 7.7.5.
Ditto for Dhiren Barot's weekend in New York, turning into a "reconnaissance mission" over 4 years after the event.
The photo's of Buckingham Palace then, naturally, transmogrified into a plan to assassinate the Queen.

Police question terror suspect
Sajid Badat studied in Blackburn, Lancashire
Police are continuing to question a Gloucester being held under anti-terrorism legislation.
Sajid Badat, 24, a British man of Pakistani origin, was arrested on Thursday under the Terrorism Act and taken to London for questioning.
Scotland Yard said a "relatively small amount" of explosive materials had been removed from his house.
Police also searched a nearby flat on Friday, but no arrests were made there and the street was not sealed off.
Gloucestershire Police Inspector David Peake said no explosives and "nothing significant" had been found at the second address - a flat above a shop on Barton Street - but the property was being checked over by forensic experts.
Mr Badat's house in nearby St James Street was also still being searched on Friday.
London move
Mr Peake said the other occupants were now in a "safe house" away from their home, which was still being looked at by forensic experts.
Mr Badat is being questioned at the high-security Paddington Green police station in west London.
Residents of 119 homes were evacuated on Thursday as police searched Mr Badat's house. They returned home on Thursday night and the street remained open on Friday.
"He had come with a mindset which he had previously developed
Officers have dismissed as "pure speculation" reports that a suicide attack was being planned on a football stadium.
Mr Badat had been under surveillance by the police and the security service MI5.
The arrest came as part of a joint anti-terrorism operation between the Metropolitan and Gloucestershire police forces.
Whitehall sources confirmed they had been checking on possible links he has with "shoe bomber" Richard Reid, who was sentenced to life for trying to blow up a US passenger plane.
Police also searched two addresses in Blackburn as part of the operation. One was the College of Islamic Knowledge and Guidance, where Mr Badat used to study.
'Walking angel'
Ibrahim Master, chairman of the Lancashire Council of Mosques, said religious leaders had been "fully co-operative" in the search.
"Islam prohibits the loss of innocent lives and as such we condemn all acts of terrorism, whether it's here in the UK or anywhere else in the world," he added.
The Islamic Centre of Knowledge and Guidance in Blackburn, Lancashire
Police searched a mosque where Mr Badat used to study.
A 39-year-old man was also taken into custody in Manchester in a separate anti-terror investigation.
Neighbours spoke of their shock to discover Mr Badat was the man arrested in Gloucester.
The owners of nearby Bismallah Butchers said Mr Badat he was a good Muslim man, extremely bright, mad on football and a "walking angel".
Thursday's arrests came a week after double suicide bombings in Istanbul in which at least 28 people died.
Sajid Badat was arrested on 26.11.2003, allegedly in connection with Richard Colvin Reid's, alleged attempt to blow up American Airlines flight 63, after the "security" firm at Charles de Gaulle, allegedly let him board with a bomb in his shoe on 22.12.2001.
The same security firm that handled Logan Airport, Boston where, allegedly, Mo Atta & co boarded AA flight 11.
The same security firm that allowed UFAM, the alleged underpants bomber, to board flight 253 (P9 x 11) in Amsterdam on Christmas Eve 2009.
I recall that media reports at the time stated that P7x7 houses (119) had been evacuated in Gloucester on the day of Sajid Badat's arrest.

Charged with conspiring with Richard Reid and others unknown to cause an explosion in the UK or elsewhere. Home Secretary Blunkett, without awaiting due process of law, immediately remarked that “it is the belief of the security and special branch forces that this person has connections with the network of al-Qaida groups. That is why he has been arrested under the Terrorism Act”. Quite correctly, Blunkett received a ticking off from Lord Falconer, the Secretary of State for Constitutional Affairs, who has noted that “it is wrong to comment in detail in relation to the particular facts at this particular moment."
1.The Guardian (25th September 2004) reported that Badat had appeared at the Old Bailey by videolink from prison to deny plotting to blow up a plane and possessing explosives. The trial, earlier due to start in January 2005, will now commence in February.
2. The Guardian (5th October 2004) reported that "Sajad Badat, 25, is accused of attempted murder and trying to destroy an aircraft. He has pleaded not guilty to British charges".
3.On a hearing at the Central Criminal Court on 28th February 2005, Badat pleaded guilty to a charge of "conspiracy to destroy, damage or endanger an aircraft". On 23rd April 2005, Badat was sentenced to 13 years' imprisonment. The Guardian reports that "Badat was told he would have faced a 50-year sentence, but Mr Justice Fulford gave him credit for pulling out of the plot, renouncing terrorism and pleading guilty".
Sajid Badat is reported to have lost his passport in Belgium on 11.9.2001.

CIA hit squad accused of London assassination
2003-01-06 11:53:55
Yvonne Ridley
6 January 2003
A man accused of using a website to offer training to would-be terrorists has died in a London hospital under mysterious circumstances.
Friends and family believe Sulayman Zain-ul-abidin was murdered in his hospital bed as he recovered from a routine knee surgery.
Those suspecting foul play, say the Muslim convert could even be the first victim of a CIA hit squad sent to Britain to "eliminate" terrorist suspects.
The American agents who are licensed to kill, are under orders to "track, hunt and eliminate" Al Qaeda suspects as part of President George W Bush's War on Terrorism.
Now questions are being asked if Mr Zain-ul-abidin's name featured on the hit list. Sheikh Abu Hamza, a friend of the dead man, is already thought to be on the hit list suspected of being Al Qaeda's spiritual leader in Europe.
Mr Zain-ul-abidin was admitted to hospital near Uxbridge, west London, for a routine operation on his knee. Within days of the minor surgery his health dramatically deteriorated and he slipped in to a coma. Medical records went missing arousing suspicion among those close to him.
"Sulayman was laughing and joking with us for the first two days after his operation. He was sitting up in bed and said he felt fine. By the third day he seemed drowsy and his wife became alarmed. After that he slipped in to a coma. His drug records went missing and no one seemed to know what medication he had been given. It all sounded very suspicious and then on Sunday he died. He never came out of his coma. We wanted a big investigation," said a close family friend.
However, the exact cause of his death may never be known, after the family of Mr Zain-ul-abidin refused a post mortem examination on religious grounds. He was buried on Tuesday after a service attended by more than 400 people.
Maddassar Arani, his solicitor, said: "His wife did not want a post mortem examination on religious grounds and because of her wishes no tests or examinations have been carried out. She does not want her husband's body to be exhumed to try and prove foul play or medical negligence. She has lost her husband and no amount of legal activity and claims can bring back her husband. She did not want his burial delayed and wants no further pain for her husband. We have to respect her wishes.
"The cause of death on the certificate has been given as cardiac arrest, organ failure, a septic knee and arthritis. His death is very suspicious. The day before he went into hospital he said he wanted to see me about something very important. He said he had some vital information about the anti- terrorist squad, but did not want to discuss it over the telephone."
Even though her client was cleared at the Old Bailey earlier this year, Mrs Arani said she was aware that the FBI were still conducting an investigation trying to link her client to another terrorist suspect being held in America.
Mr Zain-ul-abidin, came to prominence last year as the first Muslim to be tried in Britain under the Terrorism Act of 2000 since the atrocities of September 11. He was cleared at the Old Bailey after he claimed that he had been made a scapegoat.
The 44-year-old chef, who worked at the Royal College of Obstetricians, was arrested after his website offering "the Ultimate Jihad Challenge" - including weapons training at a state of the art centre in America - was exposed by a London newspaper. In the witness box, he denounced his detention as a joke.
"September 11 happened and they have got to show the public they are fighting Islamic terrorists. At the magistrates' court, the prosecutor said they had 40 anti-terrorism officers on this case working 24 hours a day, seven days a week in 55 countries.
"Now I have appeared before the highest court in the land and what evidence have they produced? It's a joke. The bottom line is that, if September 11 had never happened, I would not be standing here trying to justify trying to make a business. I am their trophy. I am their prize. They have got to convict me," Mr Zain-ul-abidin told the jury who cleared him after a five-day retirement.
After he walked from the court, FBI sources in America confirmed that they were still investigating an alleged link between Zain-ul-abidin's security company Sakina and James Ujaama, another convert to Islam arrested in Denver, Colorado, on a material witness warrant. The FBI alleges that Ujaama delivered laptop computers to the Taliban.
Mrs Arani said: "He had nothing to do with the Ujaama case and I am quite prepared to testify and say just that."
On the day he walked free from the Old Bailey she said: "He has nothing now and yet he is a totally innocent man. His house has been repossessed since his arrest and he will now have to rebuild his life."
After the newspaper article appeared, Mr Zain-ul-abidin went to a police station near his home in Kidbrook, south-east London, and expressed fears for his safety. He told police that he gave security training to people from all ethnic backgrounds and he left his business card.
When he was arrested two weeks later police found articles in his laptop about bin Laden and al-Qaeda. They also found that he had erased e-mails about the weapons course, one of which said: "Let me sacrifice myself for jihad - send details".
Mark Ellison, prosecuting, said the website advertised Zain-ul-abidin's company, Sakina Security Services, as "Britain's first Islamic threat assessment unit", offering a variety of training for bodyguards, survival techniques and weapon instruction.
He said the corporate front of the site was a veil of protection for its true purpose, "assisting or preparing terrorism". Sakina was "a dismal failure" commercially.
Mr Zain-ul-abidin, who was born Francis Etim in London but changed his name when he converted to Islam in 1979, said he was running a legitimate security training business and ignored any responses to the site from those who thought he might be recruiting for a jihad.
His company Sakina, released a statement immediately after his death on Sunday. It read: "Sulayman has been harassed by the police and MI5 since 1999 when he was arrested with Abu Hamza. Sulayman was arrested in order for him to provide evidence against Abu Hamza. Sulayman declined to do so as he has never wanted to give evidence against Abu Hamza who is the sheikh of Finsbury Park Mosque.
"Sulayman was then arrested and detained by the anti-terrorist branch in order to put pressure on him to give evidence against Abu Hamza, which he refused to do so. Since then there has been a conspiracy against Sulayman to have him prosecuted. He was arrested on October 1 2001 and detained for over 10 months in prison. He was proved innocent of terrorist charges on August 9 2002.
"What happened to Sulayman should not be allowed to happen to any other person. Sulayman was not a member of any group and never has been." The statement ends with a final line stating: "His friends are treating his death with suspicion."
Sheikh Abu Hamza is understood to have supported the call for a post mortem examination. The usually outspoken cleric declined to comment "until later" on Mr Zain-ul-Abidin's death.
A spokesman for the Islamic Human Rights Commission, which is "alarmed and concerned" about this story, said: "What was unknown about Sulayman Zain ul Abedin is his extremely caring nature, which became apparent at his funeral. People from all different backgrounds, schools of thought and indeed many non-Muslim friends and colleagues gathered. Each one had many stories of his kindness and caring nature. The many tears were testimony that he will be greatly missed. His wrongful arrest and detention still demand an apology from the authorities." The IHRC says it intends to press for more information from the British Government.
So, did Osama "the bogeyman" Bin Laden, somehow magically command our intel / police to make the arrests on this day, in order to honour his so-called, Ladenese Epistle ?
Clearly not. Someone else decided when the arrests were to take place.
I guess the Crevice script authors didn't factor in Crevice enquiries made with respect to the Jihad, given that the timing of the Crevice arrests on 30.3.2004 were not instigated by any so-called "Jihadi" faction that I know of, but there it is.
Which also tells us something about the scriptwriters mindset. It is revealing to note that this script required no actual bombs going off nor anybody getting hurt, so, perhaps that's why the authors thought they could get away with using vanilla sevens, rather than hide them behind the shield of the much less obvious, Prime Numbers.
I wonder if our "ordinary plod" are aware of their role as pawns in some diabolical games of chess ...
See this post on the alleged reason and timing of the alleged, so called Ladenese Epistle, OBL's 1st Fatwah, the Declaration of Jihad on 23.8.1996
Vanilla 7's were also used in the Danish Cartoon script. This time in relation to OBL's 1st and 2nd Fatwahs and for the clearly co-ordinated, Swedish Cartoons. Again, this was not a so-called Jihadi event. Ostensibly, just some innocent newspaper, adding grist to the WoT mill, by publishing deliberately provocative and insulting "cartoons".
*
Also, from the Jihad on 23.8.1996 to the Crevice arrests on 30.3.2004 is:
The BBC also report that the potential targets for the case included the Bluewater shopping centre in Greenhithe, Kent, the Ministry of Sound nightclub in London and London synagogues.
...
Always remember the golden rule. If they are telling you something, providing you with a "fact", especially one that carries a specific date, there's a reason for it. Always.
One of the alleged targets, woven into the Crevice script, was reported to be the Bluewater Shopping Centre in Kent, which opened on 16.3.1999
Quote:
Bluewater is an out of town shopping centre, located in Greenhithe, Kent, England. Opened on 16 March 1999
So, this type of date arithmetic is perfectly valid and quite useful if you are in the business of diabolical deception ...

Note:
There are 698,902 different ways of specifying the date difference between 21.9.1991 and 30.3.2004.
The 119 months, 119 weeks, 119 days result, is the only result that has identical values in all 3 date fields.
This is where, I suggest, you will find the WMD of the War of Terror: among the Weeks, Months and Days between "events" and their respective "root" dates.

From the Ministry of Sound nightclub opening on 21.9.1991 to the London 7/7 on 7.7.2005:
Omar Khyam began to give evidence in his defence but then refused to say anything further on the 18th September 2006, claiming that the "ISI has had a word with my family in Pakistan regarding what I have been saying about them". The other three defendents similarly all chose not to give evidence, claiming that their families would otherwise be harassed or arrested by the ISI.
After much jury deliberation, Judge Sir Michael Astill announced on 20.4.2007 that he would accept a majority verdict.
After a record 27 days deliberation, about which there were accusations of deliberate time wasting, the jury eventually delivered the guilty verdicts (except Nabeel Hussain and Shujah Mahmood) on 30.4.2007
The "full circle" trial covered a period of 360 days, or 11 months 23 days
From the arrests on 30.3.2004 to the conclusion of the Crevice case on 30.4.2007 is:
= 37 months = Prime(12)
Much like the alleged 37 gas bottles in Dhiren Barot's limousines. More on the significance of 37 to follow, unless you can work it out for yourselves ?
The jury deliberated for 27 days, a record in British criminal history.
Which explains one reason for why the case went on for so long, given that the accused were caught in posession of a ton or so of fertiliser, had their conversations taped, etc, etc ...
What is not known is which jury member(s) caused the delay ...

The court case, the BBC reports, is based mainly around the evidence of so-called supergrass (informant) Mohammed Junaid Babar, who was found guilty of terrorist offences in the USA. The defence described him as a "liar and a fantasist."

According to the judge who set his sentence:
"Mr. Babar began cooperating even before his arrest."
Hopefully, we all know by now that the omnipresent MJB, was working for the spooks all along. That much has been admitted. I've lost count of how many plots he's been involved in and how many people he has put behind bars.
Shortly after the kaleidoscope had been shaken and the pieces were all, still "in flux", quite mysteriously, as if by magic, after an interval from 9/11 of 7 weeks and 7 days, MJB made his TV debut in the US, on 7.11.2001, warning US troops that they would be killed in Afghanistan.
And, just in case, anyone doubted how evil he must be and therefore what he was supposed to represent, his mum, allegedly, could have been a victim on 9/11 as she is reported to have been a cleaner in the twin towers....
Meme Alert: ... kill their own mothers, for the cause ...
From the Jihad on 23.8.1996 to the TV launch of "brand MJB" on 7.11.2001, inclusive, is:
On the same day that Shujah-Ud Din Mahmood is charged in the UK with conspiracy to cause an explosion, we are told that MJB returned to the US on 6.4.2004.
Quote:
Arrested in US - Babar finally returns to the US on April 6, 2004, although why he does this is a mystery since his confederates in the fertilizer bomb plot had been arrested in Canada, Britain, and Pakistan just days earlier, and their arrests had been immediately publicized (see Early 2003-April 6, 2004). Babar is arrested by the FBI four days after his arrival, and quickly begins completely cooperating with the authorities (see April 10, 2004).
We now know that MJB was working for those that are supposed to be secretly protecting us, so perhaps this explains the "nominal", alleged date of his return:
From the Jihad on 23.8.1996 to the alleged return of MJB to the US on 6.4.2004 is:
We are told that, MJB was arrested on 10.4.2004 but this was kept quiet until ABC News broke the story, rather quietly, on 16.6.2004.

Feds Arrest Al-Qaeda Sleeper Agent In Queens; NJ Man Still Held Hostage
(New York-WABC, June 16, 2004)
The FBI has arrested an American citizen living in Queens said to be a sleeper agent for Al Qaeda.
ABC News reports investigators have tied the man to a terrorist cell set to carry out a series of bombings and assassinations in London.
The man, a naturalized citizen from Pakistan, was secretly taken into custody in April.
He is being held at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in Lower Manhattan and is said to be cooperating offering investigators significant information about Al Qaeda's plans.
He is being held as a material witness and his family is now under federal protection.
The man has told investigators that Al Qaeda is planning more attacks in the United States. He has also revealed a scheme to smuggle terrorists across the Mexican border.
The suspect's assertions were part of the intelligence that led to recent warnings about a summer threat from Al Qaeda.
On April 10, 2004, the FBI arrested naturalized U.S. citizen Mohammed Junaid Babar in New York City for his suspected role in providing material support to al-Qa’ida that included support for a terrorist plot to blow up pubs, train stations, and restaurants in the United Kingdom. This arrest followed police actions by British authorities, who, in late March 2004, arrested eight British citizens and seized approximately 1,320 pounds of ammonium nitrate from a self-storage warehouse in west London in connection with the same plot. On June 2, 2004, Junaid Babar pled guilty in the Southern District of New York to five counts of conspiring to provide material support to al-Qa’ida. Sentencing for Junaid Babar was pending at the end of 2005.
Momin Khawaja is alleged to have been the electronics genius, who was supposedly inventing a new gizmo, allegedly called a, "Hi-Fi Digimonster", which was supposed to be some kind of remote detonator, which, allegedly, wasn't that remote at all really, - more like a superfluous switch for an accidental suicide mission.
Necessity being the mother of invention and probably due to the scarcity of mobile phones in Canada I guess...
The Canadian Anti-Terrorism Act received Royal Assent on 18.12.2001
The Anti-terrorism Act (ATA) is one of several pieces of legislation that form the Government of Canada's overall anti-terrorism strategy. It takes aim at terrorists and terrorist groups and helps the Government of Canada meet the extraordinary challenges presented by terrorism. The legislation protects the safety, security and fundamental rights of Canadians.
Section 145 of the ATA required a committee or committees of Parliament to conduct a "comprehensive review of the provisions and operation of the Act", within three years from the date that the Act received Royal Assent (December 18, 2001).

From 9/11 on 11.9.2001 to the Canadian Anti Terror Act 2001 receiving Royal Assent on 18.12.2001 is:
From the UK TACT2000 CIF on 19.2.2001 to Canada's TACT CIF on 18.12.2001 is an interval of:
= 43 weeks = Prime(14) or, P(14)
= P(7+7) x 7 days > 777
From the Canadian Anti Terror Act 2001 receiving Royal Assent on 18.12.2001 to it first being tested via the arrest of Mohammad Momin Khawaja on 29.3.2004, inclusive, is:
and also, quite obviously, the preferred 3-digit repdigit pattern:
24 = 8+8+8
= P( 8+8+8 ) m, 8+8+8 d > 888 888
And that illustrates the important conjunction of the 777 (21) repdigits and the 888 (24) repdigits. But, you don't need to worry about that for a while.
Now we know why they made such a big deal of whatever didn't happen and clearly, was never going to happen and also explains, imo, why someone, somewhere, wanted to scare us all and probably most of the vainglorious, inexperienced fools in government that we had at the time, by putting the army at Heathrow for the first time since 1994 in response to alleged IRA mortars and before that in 1974. (Wilson coup ?)
Another example of the 777 and 888 combination would be 9/11 itself:
From the Jihad on 23.8.1996 to 9/11 on 11.9.2001, as we have seen, is an interval of:
The Washington Monument was evacuated about an hour ago after a low credibility bomb threat.
Washington Monument Evacuated (AP)
The Washington Monument was evacuated Friday after a bomb threat was called in to local police. U.S. Park Police Sgt. Scott Fear said the call came in at 2:24 p.m. EDT and the monument was evacuated a short time later. Bomb-sniffing dogs were called in and two blocks between Constitution and Independence avenues were closed off. An initial search turned up nothing worrisome.
A law enforcement official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because other agencies were handling the case, said the credibility of the threat was low but officials did not want to take any chances.
The Washington Monument, which was built in the 1800s and dedicated on Feb. 21, 1885, rises 555 feet over the National Mall. It reopened to the public last spring after undergoing a seven-month, $15 million security overhaul that included vehicle barriers and a new lighting system.
One certainly can’t blame the Park Police but we’ve gotten to the point where idiots can shut down cities with a mere phone call.
The information is provided for a reason. Always.

Washington Monument Closed by Bomb Threat
October 04, 1985
WASHINGTON — A bomb threat forced the closing of the Washington Monument today, but no explosives were found, the National Park Service said.
A person who identified himself as a member of "Americans for America" called a local newspaper and television station at 10 a.m., park service spokesman Earl Kittelman said.
The caller told WJLA-TV that the monument would be destroyed at 4 p.m. In a later call to the Washington Times, the caller indicated that the monument would be blown up later in the evening.
Police bomb squads evacuated and searched the monument for three hours but found nothing, Kittelman said.
The monument was closed for the remainder of the day.
Police yesterday seized 10 men as part of a countrywide investigation carried out with MI5 into suspected international terrorism in the UK.
All the suspects were detained under anti-terror laws following raids carried out in the early hours of yesterday at three addresses in Derby, Wolverhampton and Croydon, south London. The Metropolitan Police said these raids were not linked to the London bombings on 7 July, but one source said the operation was part of a "major investigation".
The 10 suspects, arrested by officers from the Met's SO13 anti-terror branch and regional forces, are being held on suspicion of the commission, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism under the Terrorism Act 2000.
All are understood to have been picked up as part of the same ongoing investigation. Last night, forensic experts were still carrying out fingertip searches of the houses where the men were seized, although it is understood that no chemicals or explosive devices have been found.
Detectives are currently interviewing the suspects at police stations in the West Midlands, Derbyshire and central London.
Three men were arrested in the Croydon area, three in Derby and four in Wolverhampton.
(Odd website so, Ctrl F, search for 2nd, sometimes 3rd occurrence of "10th October 2005" - most odd.)
Three men arrested in Croydon, four in Wolverhampton and three in Derby. One subsequently released.
The Times (10th October 2005) reports, "a Scotland Yard spokesman said the ten men, aged between 20 and 30, were arrested on suspicion of the commission, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism under the Terrorism Act (2000)". The Times reported "The men, most of whom are thought to be Iraqi refugees living in the UK, are suspected of having ties to a group linked to alQaeda. The group is reported to have been plotting a wave of car bomb attacks across Britain and Europe....Security sources claim that police have intercepted information hinting that further atrocities were being planned for London and other UK cities using cars packed with explosives. The intended targets have not been revealed".
The Observer on 16th October reported that all men had been released without charge on terrorism charges. Some have been held for immigration irregularities.
However on 30th June 2006, The Guardian reported that 6 of the persons arrested, who have not been named, "were placed under the most restrictive control orders issued since they were introduced in February last year: "All of them are Iraqis but there was not enough evidence to charge them. Instead, they were subject to the control orders, which were signed on the authority of the home secretary after a review of security and intelligence reports. The orders placed them under 18-hour curfews, amounting to virtual house arrest in one-bedroom flats.Security sources said last night that the arrests last year came as the men were believed to be in the final stages of planning bomb attacks. They had been seized after a long-term joint police and MI5 surveillance and intelligence operation....But sources said it was not clear what the plot was, when it was planned for, or what the targets were. Security and intelligence officials have long been concerned about the impact of the conflict in Iraq on potential Islamist extremists in Britain".

The Amsterdam Arrests: Would-Be Terror or Badly Wrapped Gifts? - 30 August 2010

The Amsterdam Arrests: Would-Be Terror or Badly Wrapped Gifts?
By Bruce Crumley / Paris Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2010
Ahmed Mohamed Nasser al Soofi, left, and Hezam al Murisi were taken off a Chicago-to-Amsterdam United Airlines flight in the Netherlands and charged by Dutch police with "preparation of a terrorist attack"
Were the two U.S. residents of Yemeni origin who were arrested upon landing in Amsterdam on Monday tripped up amid a trial run for a terrorism attack? Or was their apprehension a belated reaction by airline and airport authorities to behavior in Chicago and Alabama that, while strange, was ultimately innocent?
As Dutch officials sift through the clues they have gathered, the public and the media have this information to work on: the men identified in press reports as Ahmed Mohamed Nasser al Soofi, 48, and Hezam al Murisi, 37, were apprehended by Dutch police based on information sent by U.S. authorities after the pair's plane was en route from Chicago. Al Soofi first drew attention on Sunday in Birmingham, Ala., as he sought to board a flight to Chicago in what reports said was unusually baggy clothing. A subsequent search allegedly found him carrying $7,000 in cash; there were reportedly also bundles of cell phones and watches taped together in his luggage. Another cell phone in his bag was allegedly taped to a bottle of Pepto-Bismol. In the absence of anything that could act as an explosive in his luggage, however, al Soofi was allowed to take his plane to Chicago, where he met up with al Murisi. Once together, both men changed their scheduled itineraries to fly to Amsterdam. Before that, however, al Soofi apparently checked his suitcase onto the flight he'd initially booked to Yemen via Washington, D.C., and Dubai. When transport authorities discovered that al Soofi wasn't on that flight as it prepared to leave from Dulles International Airport for Dubai on Sunday, the orphaned bag was removed from the plane. In addition to the cell phones and watches, a search of the suitcase also reportedly turned up knives and box cutters.
None of that is against any rules or laws, however, and even a Homeland Security Authority official was quoted in reports as saying the items in al Soofi's checked baggage didn't pose any danger on their own. So why all the drama?
The pair's ultimate destination, Yemen, most likely had investigators wondering whether the men were planning some future incident. Yemen is, of course, the country where Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab prepared for and departed from on his failed Christmas 2009 attempt to blow up an Amsterdam-Detroit flight using explosives hidden in his underwear. Given that failure, there was some conjecture that al-Qaeda and its supporters may have decided to test attack plans before putting them into action. (See how the war against al-Qaeda in Yemen is heating up.)
However, a European counterterrorism official who has experience with countless inquiries — including partnerships with Dutch, American and Yemeni peers — advises against jumping to conclusions that al Soofi and al Murisi were on a dry terrorism run, even if the details in the case are bizarre. There is the possibility that al Murisi may simply have been packing a lot of cash and a stash of cell phones for family and friends in Yemen. And while the official says the presence of the checked bag on the second flight from Dulles was alarming, that could have been the result of both men deciding to fly together after it was too late to retrieve the checked bag — which should have been pulled off the Chicago-Washington flight.
The official says he can't recall a dry run in any of the scores of cases he's worked on. "Rehearsing an attack runs the considerable risk you'll be caught without ever being able to attempt the strike — which is the only goal of terrorists," he says. "If you're determined to strike and have chosen your method, you'd be better off taking your chances, since success isn't even an option if you don't try. Testing the terrain simply increases the risk you'll be caught without ever really have constituted a threat." Most would-be terrorists, he says, go through painstaking, detail-obsessed planning in the shadows to increase their chances of success once they go into action — though that sort of sweating the small stuff usually helps set off vigilant antiterrorism agencies. (See the Nigeria connection in the attempted Christmas Day bombing.)
The official admits that he has not heard from his Dutch counterparts or authorities in Amsterdam on whether the men were seriously planning misdeeds or simply bringing the largesse of their American lives home to relatives in one of the poorest countries in the world. The Dutch are staying tight-lipped about the situation, and repeated calls by TIME to public prosecutors and police overseeing the questioning have gone unanswered. Says the official: "Until the Dutch start sharing, either version is just speculation."
If DHWAV-UK 18.8.1995 the UK release date of Die Hard: With A Vengeance, is the root date for the Operation Rhyme script, and the Operation Crevice script and so many other so-called "Jihad events", then why was that date chosen?
("1000 Points of Light" - See: (allegedly Peggy Noonan) and CS Lewis - (d. 22.11.1963 - The Magicians Nephew.) = A sly reference to the assassination of JFK = C.S.Lewis died on the same day.

From GHW Bush 1000 Points of Light speech on 18.8.1988 to being inaugurated on 20.1.1989 is an interval of:
"Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we."
"We must speak the truth about terror. Let us never tolerate outrageous conspiracy theories concerning the attacks of September 11th - malicious lies that attempt to shift blame away from the terrorists themselves, away from the guilty."
PRESIDENT Bush said yesterday [17.9.2001] that he wanted Osama bin Laden, the Saudi exile, "dead or alive" in some of the most bellicose language used by a White House occupant in recent years.
"I want justice," he said after a meeting at the Pentagon, where 188 people were killed last Tuesday when an airliner crashed into the building. "And there's an old poster out West that says, 'Wanted: Dead or Alive.' "
He then seemed to temper his remarks by adding: "All I want and America wants is to see them brought to justice. That's what we want."
Danny Jowenko, the Dutch controlled demolition expert, who was shown a video of WTC7 falling to the ground on 9/11, but was not told that it was the WTC7 building, famously commented after watching the video:
Quote:
Demolition expert - Danny Jowenko on WTC7:
"It starts from below... They have simply blown away columns."
"This is controlled demolition."
"A team of experts did this."
When Jowenko was told that the building was brought down on 9/11, he sat in amazement.
“Are you sure it was the 11th?” he skeptically asked. “That can't be.”

The memo of the meeting between Bush / Blair at the White House on 31.1.2003, revealed that Blair was "solidly behind" US plans to invade Iraq, with or without a second UN resolution. The existence of the memo was revealed in February 2006.
· Mr Bush told Mr Blair that the US was so worried about the failure to find hard evidence against Saddam that it thought of "flying U2 reconnaissance aircraft planes with fighter cover over Iraq, painted in UN colours". Mr Bush added: "If Saddam fired on them, he would be in breach [of UN resolutions]".
I have it recorded as yet another, "seven-eleven" event, overnight on 7 November into the next day, but most reports on t'interwebs seem to have settled on the 8th.

Pre-dawn raids net terrorism suspects
Reporter: Tracy Bowden
KERRY O'BRIEN: Welcome to the program and the dramatic story of Australia's biggest counter-terrorism strike by far, involving hundreds of police backed by helicopters in pre-dawn raids on more than 20 homes in Sydney and Melbourne. Seventeen people, including the outspoken spiritual leader Abu Bakr, were arrested in the pre-dawn raids. One was shot in the neck in an exchange of gunfire with police and remains in an outer Sydney hospital under police guard. Police say the suspects have been under investigation for 18 months and believe the pre-emptive strike has prevented a large-scale terrorist attack within Australia. The police and ASIO operation comes just days after the Federal Government passed an urgent amendment to anti-terrorism law making it easier for police to prosecute suspects in the early stages of planning attacks. In a moment, we'll analyse how the operation unfolded with Australian Federal Police chief Mick Keelty, but, first, Tracy Bowden reports on the day's dramatic events as they unfolded, beginning with one of the suspects, Abu Bakr, who first came to public prominence on this program in August.
ABU BAKR, MUSLIM SPIRITUAL LEADER: There are two laws. There is Australian law. There is an Islamic law.
TRACEY BOWDEN: In the early hours of this morning it was the full force of the Australian law that came down on Algerian-born Abdul Nacer Benbrika, also known as Abu Bakr. Earlier this year Abu Bakr, who's lived in Melbourne for 16 years, invited the 7:30 Report into his home to defend himself against claims he was a terrorist threat. He said he was being unduly scrutinised because of his religious beliefs.
ABU BAKR: I'm not involved in anything here. I am teaching my brothers here the Koran and the Sunna. I'm trying my best to keep myself, my family, my kids and my - the Muslims close to this religion.
TRACEY BOWDEN: Abu Bakr denied any links with terrorist groups, but spoke of his admiration for the world's most wanted man.
ABU BAKR: Osama bin Laden was a great man before 11th September, which they said he did it. Until now, nobody knows who did it. What you have to understand that anyone who fights for the sake of Allah, the first - when he dies, the first drop of blood that comes from him out, all his sin will be forgiven.
TRACEY BOWDEN: Abu Bakr was one of 17 men arrested in a series of coordinated raids in suburban pockets of Melbourne and Sydney.
CHRISTINE NIXON, VICTORIA POLICE CHIEF COMMISSIONER: Certain information came to hand and we believed it was important that we moved as we did.
TRACEY BOWDEN: At 2.30 this morning, police began raiding houses in several suburbs in northern Melbourne, including Fawkner, Preston and Coburg. At the same time in Sydney, more than 360 NSW Police and 70 federal officers executed search warrants on 15 premises in the city's south-west, around the suburbs of Lakemba and Wiley Park. The raids were the culmination of 16 months of investigations involving the Victoria and NSW Police, the Australian Federal Police and ASIO and top brass marvelled at their secret successful operation. In Sydney where a State Government has been starved of success of late, it was standing room only, a phalanx of politicians alongside senior police.
MORRIS IEMMA, NSW PREMIER: Ladies and gentlemen, I have the Minister for Police Carl Scully on my left, on my right, the NSW Police Commissioner Ken Moroney and next to him...
TRACEY BOWDEN: It emerged that the raids were prompted by tell ledged stocking of chemicals to manufacture explosives in preparation for a terrorist attack. Police believe the chemicals were the same as those used in the London bombings.
CARL SCULLY, NSW POLICE MINISTER: Now, yesterday Commissioner Ken Moroney advised me he'd made a decision to accept a recommendation to invoke the police powers, the counter-terrorism legislation we introduced three years ago known as the Terrorism Police Power's Act 2002. Now, that act requires my concurrence to the Police Commissioner's decision. Having been briefed by the Police Commissioner and the earlier briefings from Norm Hazzard, I was satisfied that this state was under an imminent threat of potentially a catastrophic terrorist act. Now, these are extraordinary counter-terrorism powers that have not been used before.
TRACEY BOWDEN: Today's arrests come after extensive debate about the need for stronger anti-terror legislation and warnings from the Prime Minister last week of a potential threat. That led to the rushed introduction of an amendment to the Federal anti-terror laws. But did that play a role in the timing or impact of today's arrests?
CHRISTINE NIXON: We've been working on this operation for 16 months and we came to a point where we believe we had sufficient evidence to be able to lay those charges and the amendment did assist us.
KEN MARONEY, NSW POLICE COMMISSIONER: Certainly, the legislation here in NSW, the Terrorism Police Powers Act, is a strong piece of legislation. Is the first time that I've sought to invoke those powers. So you can see it's a very special piece of legislation that we don't loosely use. I felt that the time was appropriate, based on the briefings that I had and drawing on the experiences both in Madrid and London, rather than attend to a matter post-fact. I'd rather attend to the matter before any particular occurrence.
REPORTER: Were you given all of the powers you needed?
KEN MARONEY: The Commonwealth legislation as it was passed last week assisted us.
TRACEY BOWDEN: Of the eight men arrested in Sydney, only 7 have been charged. The eighth was shot by police and is under police guard in hospital. All are being represented by solicitor Adam Houder.
ADAM HOUDA, DEFENCE LAWYER: These matters are scandalous political prosecutions, which shame this nation. These young men are presumed innocent and at least their presumption of innocence has not yet been repealed. The politicians who are engaging in point scoring should now keep out of it. There's no evidence in these cases that terrorism was contemplated or being planned by any particular persons at any particular time or at any particular place. Thank you.
TRACEY BOWDEN: Nine men appeared in court in Melbourne. Abdul Nacer Benbrika or Abu Bakr was charged with directing a terrorist organisation. The other eight men were charged with being members of a terrorist organisation. Two of the nine applied for bail. The organisation has no name and is not on Australia's list of prescribed terrorist organisations. Outside the Melbourne court tensions were offer. But Waheed Ali of the Islamic Council of Victoria believes many in the Muslim community will welcome news of today's arrests.
WALEED ALY, VICTORIAN ISLAMIC COUNCIL: I think it's a welcome relief in a way because I've seen so in raids in the past that have led essentially to nothing and that's what has caused a lot of fear within the Muslim communities.
TRACEY BOWDEN: At Sydney's Muslim community radio today there was only one talkback topic for the presenter, Faten El Dana.
FATEN EL DANA, MUSLIM COMMUNITY RADIO: How do you feel about what happened this morning?
CALLER #1: Actually, this should be done a long time ago.
CALLER #2: I've been suffering from anxiety, really bad anxiety the last couple of years and I'm going bad every day. When I hear the news - every day.
FATEN EL DANA: There was a variety of calls, but I can tell you that the majority of the listeners didn't feel really bad about what happened this morning. They weren't scared. They were supportive of the government and the procedures that it's taking.
TRACEY BOWDEN: That may be a widely held viewpoint, but it's not unanimous within the Muslim community. Tonight, Abu Bakr remains in custody, but these were the provocative views he expressed on this program back in August.
ABU BAKR: I am telling you that my religion doesn't tolerate other religion. It doesn't tolerate. The only one law which needs to spread, it can be here or anywhere else, has to be Islam.

''On July 26, 2004, the joint investigation, Operation Pendennis, commenced and inquiries subsequently identified a group led by Benbrika comprising 13 persons of interest.''
In an intriguing exercise in multicultural policing, Victoria Police planted a spy into the group. He posed as a Muslim Turk called Ahmet and told Benbrika he knew how to find materials for explosives. Defence lawyers would later paint him as an agent provocateur.

In October 2004, the agent took Benbrika to bushland at Mount Disappointment and showed him how to create an explosion using ammonium nitrate. Police secretly filmed the whole exercise.

From the Jihad on 23.8.1996 to MCA 2006 becoming law on 17.10.2006 is:
I never thought I would have to write this: but—incredibly—Congress has now passed the National Defense Appropriations Act, with Section 1021, which allows for the military detention of American citizens.
The section is so loosely worded that any American citizen could be held without due process.
The language of this bill can be read to assure Americans that they can challenge their detention — but most people do not realize what this means: at Guantanamo and in other military prisons, one’s lawyer’s calls are monitored, witnesses for one’s defense are not allowed to testify, and one can be forced into nudity and isolation.
Incredibly, ninety-three Senators voted to support this bill and now most of Congress: a roster of names that will live in infamy in the history of our nation, and never be expunged from the dark column of the history books.

From DHWAV-UK on 18.8.1995 to the NDAA 2012 becoming law on 31.12.2012 is an interval of :
This event was widely reported to signal the end of combat operations in Iraq. Subsequently, the "unspoken message" displayed on the massive banner was heavily criticised and distracting arguments ensued over who made the banner and why, the White House or the Navy, etc.
The timing of the message seemed difficult to understand. Bush and Blair had spoken loudly and often about "regime change" and yet the leader of that regime, Saddam Hussein, the Ace of Spades, had not yet been found. At least that's what the world understood at the time. As time passed, the context of the Mission Accomplished message became more obscure, as more combat operations followed and yet still, there was no sign of the Ace of Spades.
So what did "Mission Accomplished" mean ?

Mission 3 - Alleged plot to assassinate GHW Bush in Kuwait in April 1993.
It has been reported that there was an alleged assassination attempt being planned for GHW Bush, during his family visit to Kuwait between 14 - 16th April 1993, to commemorate the liberation of Kuwait on 27 February 1991, from Saddam Hussein's invading Iraqi forces, after he had been given the green light from the White House to do just that, on 25th July 1990 via ambassador, April Glaspie.
Quote:
Former President George Bush visited Kuwait between April 14 and April 16, 1993, to commemorate the allied victory in the Persian Gulf War. Accompanying Bush were his wife, two of his sons, former Secretary of State James A. Baker III, former Chief of Staff John Sununu, and former Treasury Secretary Nicholas Brady.
April 13, 1993: Fourteen men believed to be in the employ of Saddam Hussein smuggled bombs into Kuwait with the intent of killing Bush as he spoke at Kuwait University.[20] Two of the suspects Wali Abdelhadi Ghazali and Raad Abdel-Amir al-Assadi retracted their confessions at the trial claiming that they were coerced. Amnesty and Human Rights Watch said at the time that there was credible evidence that confessions were beaten out of the suspects.[21] Raad Abdel-Amir al-Assadi,one of the suspects stated that he was asked by the Mukhabarat to place bombs outside shopping centers in Kuwait City.[21] The plot was foiled when Kuwaiti officials found the bomb and arrested the suspected assassins.[22] Bush had left office in January 1993. The Iraqi Intelligence Service, particularly Directorate 14, was proven to be behind the plot,.[23] The evidence relied on the confessions and the bombs, Seymour Hersh has cast doubts about the bomb evidence when 7 bomb experts noted that the bombs were mass produced and were probably not even produced in Iraq. Hersh called the US governments case "seriously flawed".[21]
On 26 June 1993, Clinton sent a few cruise missiles into Baghdad in retaliation.
Patrick Cockburn in Washington on how a lowly male nurse brought missiles raining down on Baghdad
From PATRICK COCKBURN in Washington
Sunday 04 July 1993
BILL CLINTON'S decision to launch a cruise missile attack on Baghdad was based on the claims of Wali Abdelhadi Ghazali, a male nurse from the Iraqi city of Najaf. The raid was in retaliation for a plot to assassinate George Bush during a visit to Kuwait. But most of those alleged to have taken part were whisky smugglers, and all but Mr Ghazali deny knowing anything of the plot.

When the threat of Hussein hit home for Bush Plot: Ten years ago, the world was told Iraqi agents tried to kill the president's father. But did it actually happen?
...
In November 1993, investigative reporter Seymour Hersh scrutinized the alleged plot in the New Yorker magazine and concluded that much of the evidence given by the FBI and CIA -- and presented to the United Nations after the missile attack -- was flawed or wrong. He suggested that the Kuwaitis might have invented the plot, its Iraqi connection or its focus on Bush, forcing one or more plotters to confess under torture.
Hersh quoted explosives experts as saying that far from reflecting a bomb maker's unique "signature," the electronic parts were mass-produced and indistinguishable from components in ordinary walkie-talkies and other devices.

The former FBI scientist, Frederic Whitehurst, blew the whistle, by contesting claims made by the FBI about the alleged explosives used in the alleged plot:
Quote:
Wikipedia:
While employed by the Federal Bureau of Investigation Laboratory, the FBI officially rated Dr. Whitehurst as the leading national and international expert in the science of explosives and explosives residue. He investigated, uncovered and reported scientific misconduct which forced the FBI crime lab to agree to forty major reforms, including undergoing an accreditation process. During this period, Whitehurst was forced to defend himself from retaliation by the FBI by hiring Kohn, Kohn & Colapinto, a Washington, D.C. law firm specializing in defending whistleblowers.
Quote:
Whitehurst, the FBI chemist, went public with criticisms of the FBI lab's work on many cases, including the Kuwaiti plot. Whitehurst received a $1.16 million settlement when he left the FBI in 1998, many of his charges having been vindicated in a scathing, 500- page inspector general's report.
Whitehurst, now practicing law in Bethel, N.C., says his analysis showed clearly that the material from the car bomb in Kuwait did not match other Iraqi explosive samples.
When he heard reports after the missile attack that Clinton and U.N. Ambassador Madeleine K. Albright had said the explosives matched, "I thought, 'The news has got this wrong.' I said specifically it wasn't a
match." When he later saw an official FBI document misstating his findings, he filed an official protest.
The inspector general's report eventually confirmed that Whitehurst's findings had been distorted, but said government officials assured investigators that they had other evidence linking the plot to Iraq.
Clinton relied heavily on evidence found by FBI bomb experts linking the Iraqi Intelligence Service to a 175-pound car bomb found April 14 in Kuwait City. According to senior intelligence and law enforcement officials, key pieces of the bomb -- including the remote-control detonator, the plastic explosives, the electronic circuitry and the wiring -- bore an overwhelming resemblance to components of bombs previously recovered from the Iraqis.
Mission 4 - Saddam Hussein, under sanctions, demands payment for Iraqi Oil for Food in Euros
Saddam Hussein had originally given the UN a deadline of 1.11.2000 to create a new Oil for Food account to receive payment for Iraqi oil in Euros, instead of the petro dollar, which Saddam called the "currency of an enemy state".

Iraq's U.N. Ambassador Saeed Hasan reported earlier that Baghdad would delay the changeover until after Nov. 6, rather than put it into effect on November 1, as originally announced. Iraq has called the dollar the currency of an "enemy state."
The UN sanctions committee on Iraq yesterday approved Baghdad's request to receive oil-export payments in euros instead of dollars. Iraq has described US dollars as being the currency of an "enemy state."
Adopting euros will cost Iraq at least $270 million, in part because the euro will accrue lower interest, UN Treasurer Suzanne Bishopric reported Friday. Iraq's UN Ambassador Saeed Hasan dismissed Bishopric's report as "highly exaggerated" and provided a detailed critique of her analysis (Reuters/CNN.com, 30 Oct).
The United States and the United Kingdom, who are members of the sanctions committee, were uneasy about caving in to the demands of Iraqi President Saddam Hussein (Carola Hoyos, Financial Times, 31 Oct).
But the committee, composed of the 15 Security Council members, decided it had no legal basis to block Iraq's request. Earlier yesterday, Iraq told the committee it would extend until 6 November its 1 November deadline to create the euro account.
Countries buying oil from Iraq pay into an account held in escrow by the UN. Under the UN "oil for food" program, Iraq, which is still under sanctions for its 1990 invasion of Kuwait, must use the funds to buy humanitarian goods (Associated Press/MSNBC.com, 30 Oct).
On 7th April 2002, Blair first publicly mentioned "regime change" in relation to Iraq, in his speech at the George Bush Senior Presidential Library, Texas, on 7.4.2002
