London Stop the War - Friends House, Euston, Thur 4th August

London wide meeting Thursday 4th August 6.30pm at Friends House, Euston. Speakers include George Galloway (MP), Jeremy Corbyn (MP), Tariq Ali, Shami Chakrabati, Lindsey German, Anas Al Tikriti. Stop the bombings, Stop the War, Defend Civil Liberties, Defend the Muslim Community



A vigil organized by Stop the War Coalition was held in response to the murder of Jean Charles de Menezes in Stockwell on Monday. It was large and angry. It shows there is a wave of opinion disgusted at this government's murderous policies, at home and abroad. Large numbers of people understand Tony Blair is cynically using the tragedy of the bombings in London to push through oppressive measures, while denying, what most of the population know, that the cause of the terrorism is the war in Iraq. At the same time Ian Blair announces the police will continue with the Shoot to Kill policy even though he admits he may well end in another "mistake."



We need to keep building the momentum. We're asking as many people who can make it to come along to these events, bringing family, friends and workmates if possible.
