Quote: | DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) -- Oil services giant Halliburton Co. will soon shift its corporate headquarters from Houston to the Mideast financial powerhouse of Dubai, chief executive Dave Lesar announced Sunday.
''Halliburton is opening its corporate headquarters in Dubai while maintaining a corporate office in Houston,'' spokeswoman Cathy Mann said in an e-mail to The Associated Press. ''The chairman, president and CEO will office from and be based in Dubai to run the company from the UAE.''
Lesar, speaking at an energy conference in nearby Bahrain, said he will relocate to Dubai from Texas to oversee Halliburton's intensified focus on business in the Mideast and energy-hungry Asia, home to some of the world's most important oil and gas markets. |
To be nearer to the oil no doubt ! |

My partner just got back from the Vegas of the East and she said that the building work going on in Dubia is quite incredible. She said that she has never seen so many cranes, building sites ard the like all in close proximetry to each other.
With all the reports of building work going on in and around the Caspian catchment it makes me wonder about where this is all heading. Oil is one thing but I feel it has much more to do with creating a 'beach head' type senario for 'other' operations. The world army will perhaps have its main bases in Iraq and the surrounding states. From there it could be deployed anywhere.
Don't believe any shiesters about troops home for christmas, the plan is to maintain a presence there - period.
Dubia is a great R & R location for thirsty troops aswell as oiligarks _________________ It's not about terror, its about illusion. It's not about war, it's about you

Haliburton must be scared of Barrack Obama winning and launching an investiagation into the billions Haliburton have swindled the US taxpayer out of. |

My dad works for Foster Wheeler and he has just recently returned from a Middle East Audit trip that took him to Dubai.
He said the same thing to me. |

I think there is a lot more to it than that. |
