I didn't see it but it the scheduled prog was about British Airways Flight 149.

The journalist Stephen Davies has written a book called The Secret of Flight 149, (Spies, Lies and Saddams Human Shields).

He has also made a BBC documentary so I guess that was it.

Synopsis:

When Saddam Hussein moved his Iraqi army into Kuwait in August 1990, the First Gulf War was triggered. As the invasion began, all flights bound for Kuwait City were re-routed. All except BA Flight 149. Its mostly British and American passengers and crew found themselves in the midst of a bloody battlefield. The British and American heads of state had a problem. How to extricate their citizens without loss of life? Diplomacy, or war?

This is the little-known story of how a passenger flight risked the lives of 387 civilians. It is a hard-hitting investigation into the failures of the British government to protect its citizens and a powerful account of survival and the battle for justice.


The MP Norman Baker has called for an inquiry into the use of Flight 149 to insert into Kuwait, members of a secret MI6 unit called "The Inc" so that they could provide intel on Saddams invasion.

He has also accused Bliar of a cover up over the issue.

Thatcher lied about it and so did Major.
