|
|
The BBC headline states that:
Third 'think Iraq war was right'
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/6467147.stm
But then goes on to say:
A third of people in the UK think the war in Iraq was justified but six in 10 believe it was a mistake, a BBC survey suggests.
The 'but' in the follow up is there to counter the first part of the sentence - i.e. the 'positive' that there is support from a third of the population. Very subtle but the headline is nonetheless spinning the approval above the disapproval. |

It seems as though bbc is going from bad to worse, It should have been over 70% thought it was wrong, or the majority of the British thought it was false. |

Two million people marched through London on a very cold day Feb2003 in protest against the imminent Iraq illegal invaion after Bliar's tanks round Heathrow stunt, the biggest pro war demo to my knowkedge was 200 persons in some military town and I think the plod moved the decimal point to the right this time in estimating crowd size. We then saw published in the Guardian a poll saying the country was split 50/50 on whether to ignore international law and another country's sovereignty and invade!?! Now after 4 years of carnage they are saying only 2 in 5 have left the pro war position? |

heheh yes I spotted that too, the glass half full vs half empty approach... hmm
kinda sad to see the BBC stoop so low isn't it, I wonder when exactly the takeover occurred, somewhere around Greg Dyke's departure I'm guessing? _________________ Make love, not money. |

i was against the war before it started however now we are there i don't believe we should leave.
i think one of the biggest lies the media tries to spin is that iraq will get better once we are gone. i can see it right now
shia guy: "i see the foreign troops have left"
sunni guy: "oh really? then i guess we can stop blowing each other up then."
shia guy: "wanna come round to my house for tea?"
aye that'll be right. |

Yes, I remember a few anti-war protestors in my local group making a similar declaration as soon as the bombs started to drop.
I've heard the Labour/Conservative Party memberships are in serious decline - I'm sure they could use people like you. |

Don't wonder the gasp. Not quite sure even what johndoe actually means - that fs is akin in his attitude to massacreing types?
However it's spun by the BBC it's still hard to believe there's 333 pricks out of the 1000 polled who think it was right. Who are these people? _________________ http://www.exopolitics-leeds.co.uk/introduction |
