I was driving back through the night from the Green Party Conference in Swansea last night (full report will be given in the next day or two) and I had Gorgeous George for company on the radio.
One of his topics that people rang in about was the seizing of the fifteen Royal Navy personnel and their equipment by the Iranians. George, not surprisingly, had a lot to say about this with his ego almost running out of control at times. Interestingly, he acknowledged that the sailors and marines could perhaps have been deliberately put into harm's way by the ptb ordering them into Iran's territorial waters in order to exacerbate the Iranian situation. He then accepted the tactic of 'false flag' operations by reminding listeners of the Bay of Tonkin.
But most interestingly of all, he read out a live frontpage CNN report from the CNN website which said that the US ambassador to the United Nations, concerning the new sanctions imposed by the UN on Iran, had announced that Iran had sixty days to comply to the UN's demand to stop their nuclear programme or else the United States would take further (unspecified) action. George then said ominously that the clock to war had started ticking......... So far I've not been able to confirm this story - can people help? _________________ Connect to Infinite Consciousness - enjoy the ride! |

Quote: | Expressing the divide between Iran and the U.N. demand, the acting U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, Alejandro Wolff, said:
"While we hope that Iran complies with this resolution ... the United States is fully prepared to take additional measures in 60 days should Iran choose another course." |

The United Nations Security Council adopted UN SCR 1737 on 23.12.2006, requesting within 60 days a report from the Director General of the IAEA on whether Iran has established full and sustained suspension of all activities mentioned in this resolution.
Iran rejected the resolution.
The UN SCR adopted a new resolution 1747 on 24.3.2007 (not yet posted on the UN site under resolutions) which was again rejected by Iran as being illegitimate.
The new resolution mentions 60 days, twice:
Except for humanitarian or development aid, States and international financial institutions should not provide funds to Iran, according to the resolution. All countries have 60 days to report to the Iran sanctions committee on steps they have taken to give effect to the resolution.
and, as with UNSCR 1737:
Under other provisions of the resolution, the Director-General of the IAEA is to report back to the Council within 60 days on Iran's nuclear programme. _________________ The Medium is the Massage - Marshall McLuhan. |

Aren't UN resolutions (barrack room lawyer) chapter 6 or chapter 7 or something similar? Chapter 7 backed up by military threat and chapter 6 (like the 40 plus against USrael) just suggestions? |

i think george is absolutely cotrrect the countdown to war has started and it may even mean that Butcher Blair has an excuse NOT to stepdown as he has promised to do. bush is running out of time too. So i believe they will attack. These butchers are nothing but murderous warmongers.
Iran thinks it can defend itself but we all know americans ARE COWARDS and they never fight fair. They will subject the poor people of Iran to a bliztkreig of 2000lb bombs, battlefield depleted uranium bombs, cluster bombs, smart missiles, gas, biological anything, for several weeks or months then finally move in when they surrender and take to the hills.
That is the american way. _________________

Bush is determined to attack Iran before his term is up, and Bliar is double determined to attack Iran, he is EVIL his goverment is the most corrupt ever.
Bliar has no intention of stepping down. Brown will never be prime minister.
Bush and Blair for the electric chair.
They are evil murdering scum. |
