according to this book the trilateral commissions aims are:

1) peoples, gov'ts, and economies must serve the multinational banks and corporations
2) Control over economic resources equals power in modern politics
3) Leaders (the few who control the economy and profit) must resist any movement towards popular democracy (rule of the many)

the trilaterals will manage democracy and restrict freedom from the many both at home and abroad for the 'greater good'

This is as clear an elite takeover plan as i have ever seen..and this is an academic book, not a left field opinion piece.
