Cable and ISDN Internet users are vulnerable from intruders. The longer you are connected to the net, the more you are at risk from anyone who wants to access you computer files remotely. Net7 is a switch you put inline between you modem and your computer, so when you are working off line or you need to leave your computer for a while, you can turn off the connection, without closing down your computer or disconnecting your cable. Which most time means having to re-boot to find the connection. All you need is one more Ethernet cable to patch the device in line. There is no software to install either. This device is not available in the UK as far as I know. But they will send it to you. The price is $35.00 (Aproxx £18.00). I do not know what the P&P will be. If you pay through Credit Card or PayPal, there will be a currency conversion charge.

festival of snickers, on a somewhat off-topic and hopefully less serious note, I assume that your name derives from the chocolate confection with peanuts.

For me, the name 'Snickers' has come to symbolise all that is American Imperialism.

When I was a kid we had 'Marathon' with its catchy jingle:

'M! -A! -R! -A! -T-H-O-N!, Marathon!'.

I became concerned when the wrapper started saying 'Known internationally as Snickers. Eventually, we got Snickers with 'Formerly known as Marathon'. Now the name Marathon is all but forgotten.

I used to think that Mars (the manufacturer) was British but I have since learned that this is not the case. It still looks like a corporate ploy of insert, turn and pull.

Actually, I just realised how on-topic this is!
